Derek and Serina sat in the back row of the car.
The streetlights on the road flashed past Serina’s pale face continuously.
Serina was still thinking about Clara, who had lost so much blood.
Even though Serina had been naughty since childhood and often bleed from injuries, it was the first time she had seen so much blood.
Derek turned to look at Serina. Clear fingerprints were on her extremely swollen face.
He shifted his position, approached Serina, and gently embraced Serina in his arms.
“It’s fine now.” His husky voice was charming, giving Serina a sense of security in the darkness.
Serina sat still. After a long time, she leaned her head against Derek’s shoulder.
At that time, she would rely on anyone.
Derek smiled and hugged her even tighter.
Along the way, Serina didn’t say a word. It was completely different from the active her before.
Derek hugged her and got out of the car, bringing her to the bedroom.
Serina did not seem to go washing up. She sat with her back against the back of the bed and hugged her knees with hands.
Derek ordered people to take the ice pouch. The ice pouch was too cold, so he wrapped it in a towel and walked to the bedside.
He gently pushed away Serina’s hair and said, “Hang on a bit longer.”
He softly pasted the ice bag wrapped in a towel onto Serina’s swollen face.
Serina subconsciously shouted.
“It’ll be fine in a moment,” Derek said softly.
Serina stopped shouting. Derek continued to paste the towel on her face, while she looked indifferently.
After a while, Derek thought it was enough, so he took off the towel.
He turned around and walked to the bathroom. Suddenly he heard a voice coming from behind him.
“I didn’t do it on purpose.”
Derek paused for a while and continued to walk into the bathroom. He put the towel back and went to the bedside again.
“I really didn’t do it on purpose.”
Serina seemed to be muttering to herself. She frowned tightly as if she was in great pain.
“I know,” Derek replied.
Serina slowly looked up to Derek, “You know?”
“Yes.”
“Even Sammy and my father don’t believe me. They all think that I intentionally harmed Clara. But I really didn’t. Although I hate her, I never wanted her to have an abortion.”
Derek felt heartache. He stroked Serina’s head, “I believe you.”
Serina looked at Derek in disbelief.
Her fiancé who had grown up together with her since childhood did not believe her. So did her father. But the man in front of her, who had not known her for a long time, just said he believed her?
“Really?”
Derek nodded, “As long as you say it, I will believe you.”
“But they don’t believe me!”
“I’m different from them,” Derek stroked Serina’s hand more gently, “Serina, remember, regardless of what others say, a clean hand wants no washing.”
Serina nodded.
“Well then, go to sleep now. It’s already very late.”
Serina nodded again. She suddenly felt that Derek wasn’t that annoying.
Derek hugged Serina, and she sweetly fell asleep in his arms.
Looking at the lovely girl in his arms, Derek smiled.

Early in the morning.
Sunlight filled the quiet ward.
Everything was quiet.
Clara slowly opened her eyes, and Sammy immediately moved closer, “Clara, are you awake?”
He had accompanied Clara for a whole night. The pain of losing the baby made him look much more strained.
Hearing Clara had woken up, Andrew immediately moved closer. Kamden and Miranda also sat up from their chairs. They rushed over this morning.
Clara smiled at Sammy. Suddenly, her expression changed. She touched her belly and asked, “Our baby?”
Sammy’s eyes immediately darkened, “Clara, it’s fine. We’re still young. We’ll have a baby in the future.”
“What do you mean? Our baby is gone?” Clara grabbed Sammy’s hand tightly, “Where’s our baby?”
“Clara, calm down. Right now, the most important thing is to nurse your body,” Sammy comforted.
Clara shook her head, tears streaming down her face, “My baby, my baby…”
“My granddaughter really suffers,” Miranda couldn’t help but burst into tears.
Kamden sighed.
Miranda stepped forward and said, “Clara, don’t cry. Good girl, you’re still young. You will have children in the future. Take good care of yourself now.”
However, Clara could not stop crying. She struggled to get up. Sammy put a pillow against her back.
Tears poured down like a flood that broke a dam. Clara cried loudly, breaking everyone’s hearts.
Sammy panicked at the side and hurriedly said, “Clara, stop crying. Be careful to your body.”
Clara wiped her tears with a napkin, “How can Serina be so cruel? How can she be so cruel?”
Miranda and Kamden looked at each other, “Andrew, is this matter related to Serina?”
Andrew lowered his head and sighed deeply.
“Clara, you’re not clear-headed right now. Don’t talk nonsense. Have a good rest.” Sammy was worried that Clara would say something harmful to Serina.
“I’m very clear-headed now! It’s Serina! She deliberately pushed me!” Clara shouted at Sammy.
Although Andrew thought of this, he was still shocked when Clara said it loud.
Miranda and Kamden were even more shocked.
Clara sniffled, “Serina went too far! She kept shouting that I stole Sammy. She said that I’m a bad woman. She said that Sammy would come back to her as long as I lost the baby. She pushed me hard! She still wanted to, still wanted to…”
“What else did she want?” Kamden asked anxiously.
“She wanted to kill me!” Clara continued to cry, “After pushing me down, she was going to smash the plate on me!”
Sammy sighed. He had indeed seen Serina lift the plate. So now he could not defend Serina.
“What? This little bastard!” Andrew stomped his foot.
Clara sobbed, “Grandpa, grandma, daddy, ever since Sammy and I were about to get married, similar things have happened more than once!”
“What? More than once?!”
“Yes. Serina often said that my mother was a prostitute, and I am also a bad woman and a tease. I didn’t dare to tell you about this. Once, she took a dagger to my room in the middle of the night and threatened me. I knelt on the ground and begged her to let me go.”
