Chapter 52

Keerthi jumped in her husband’s lap at his unexpected display of temper. She opened her mouth to talk, closing it when she heard her husband.
“I’ve had enough of this nonsense. I don’t want to hear another word.”
Vikram sighed when he heard his wife’s soft cries, reluctantly letting her go this time when she tried to get off him.
He counted from one to ten, closing his eyes. He had promised himself not to shout at his wife when she cried, even though he was tempted to give her a piece of his mind.
He wanted to start their honeymoon on a good note, but leave it to his wife to talk bullshit and spoil both of their moods.
It literally made zero sense to him.
He knew he found his wife hot, but he was reluctant to convey it to her.
It would sound too male.
His wife may not be able to handle it if he explained to her just how sexy he found her, and how his dick jumped everytime she was around.
Though he loved his wife, and wanted to be open with her, he didn’t want to disrespect her by answering her question.
He didn’t want his opinion to matter to her.
His wife was thin, but he didn’t want her to think he loved her, or fucked her because she was thin.
It wasn’t true.
He would find her equally attractive even if she won’t fit between the doors.
Emotional component played an important role while they made love majorly, though the physical aspect was important too.
He knew he wouldn’t change himself even if his wife found him unattractive, he didn’t expect her to either.
So, asking him of his opinion was pissing him off.
He loved her. Period.
Anything else didn’t matter to him apart from that. He didn’t know how to explain it to his wife.
She had started to cry even before he could explain his point of view.
And even if her tried to, he himself wasn’t sure if he could keep his tone in check. He didn’t like seeing his wife crying so much.
Keerthi let another few tears drop her eyes as she gazed out of the window. She didn’t know when their conversation turned.
One moment they were bantering, the next moment, her husband snapped at her.
Why couldn’t her husband answer her question though? Though she wasn’t the insecure type, she wanted to hear what her husband thought of her. If he said she was fat, she would have only asked him to suck it up. She wasn’t going to change for anyone. She only wanted to hear from him.
She would have thrown her hair over her shoulder and smirked, either way.
Vikram felt bad when he saw his wife staring outside. She hadn’t said a word in the last hour.
“Do you want to eat anything?”, he patted her knee. He was hungry. He could ring for the air hostess.
Keerthi glanced at her husband. She was hungry. But she only shrugged.
She was annoyed at her husband. There was no reason for him to snap at her.
Vikram glared at his wife’s lack of response.”What do you want?”
Keerthi shrugged again, when she heard her husband,”Order for yourself”, he snapped.
“Don’t shout at me”, Keerthi glared at him.
“Fine. What does Madam want?”, Vikram asked, sarcasm dripping his voice.
Keerthi sighed, rubbing the side of her face, running a hand through her hair,”There’s no need to act so much”, she mumbled.
She cleared her throat,”Pasta”, she said, though she secretly knew that was what Vikram would have ordered for her.
Vikram placed an order, glaring at his wife.
“What?”, Keerthi asked, when her husband continued to stare at her.
“Just..”, Vikram stared at his wife’s crying face. He genuinely didn’t understand why she cried sometimes,”Nothing”, he sighed.
Keerthi turned her face away, not bothering to respond when the stewardess came , with their food ready.
Keerthi silently had her food, not attempting to fill the silence, swallowing the lump in her throat.
She couldn’t stop the tear that leaked her eye after she had her food, silently going through her hand bag in search of a tissue, sniffing.
She stared at her husband when he offered her his handkerchief, looking between him and the hankie.
Leave it to him to make her cry and then offer her a handkerchief.
She silently took it from him though, wiping her nose, staring outside quietly when she was done.
Vikram shifted closer to his wife, wrapping his arm around her shoulder , ignoring her mewls of protest as he tucked her to his side.
Keerthi turned to the side, glaring at her husband,”Wasn’t it enough? You have more to make me cry?”
“I am Sorry”, Vikram kissed his wife’s forehead.
“Right. Sorry”, Keerthi scoffed, her eyes filling with tears.
“I didn’t mean to make you cry. I am such a dick, making you cry already”, Vikram pulled his wife into a hug.
Keerthi sniffed, smiling, as she slapped her husband’s shoulder, silently forgiving him,”Fine.”
“But I meant what I had said earlier. Don’t talk about it?”
Keerthi’s shoulders slumped, wiping her face,”Fine”, she mumbled,”I won’t say anything”, she said softly.
Vikram tilted his wife’s chin up, capturing her lips’ in his in a slow kiss, moving his lips on his wife’s, biting her lips gently, as he explored her mouth.
“I love you in any form. You being thin, fat, short, tall, beautiful or ugly doesn’t matter”, Vikram mumbled against his wife’s lips.
His wife seemed too upset that he didn’t answer her idiotic question,”But if you want my answer so bad, I think you are… proportionate”, Vikram ran his hands on his wife’s curve, cupping her breast in one hand and skimming her body with the other,”I don’t find you either thin or fat. But I think you are the most beautiful girl I’ve laid my eyes on. And I thank God he sent you to me. It irritates me when you ask these kind of questions. Frankly, they don’t make any sense to me, and they don’t matter”, Vikram finished, hoping he could convey his thoughts briefly. It would sound indecent if he started describing her features.
Though Vikram wanted to gag at the sentimentality his statement reflected, they were his true thoughts.
Keerthi’s eyes watered at her husband’s confession. That was the sweetest thing he had said to her.
She flung her arms around her husband’s neck, pulling him impossibly closer as they hugged. Her heart hammered, love for her husband growing.
**
Keerthi smiled when her husband wrapped his arms around her, placing his chin on her head, as she pulled the bedsheet sideways. It had been an hour since they had checked into the hotel suite.
She turned around, hugging her husband, her arms going around his waist.
She looked at him after a moment, grinning, squeezing him in her arms,”I love you.”
Vikram rose a brow at his wife, shaking his head, as he smothered her against his chest.
“Just one last time”, Keerthi kissed her husband’s chest.
“I’ve said it multiple times today”, Vikram tightened his hold on his wife, her wandering lips arousing him.
Keerthi pulled away, pouting. She ran a hand all over her husband’s chest, feeling the hard muscle beneath her touch,”Just today. I won’t harass you to say it more than once everyday.”
Vikram laughed,”Everyday? In your dreams.”
“You want sex everyday.”
“It’s different.”
“Not really.”
“Stop comparing them.”
“If you shout at me one more time today, I swear you are going to get it from me.”
“Get what?”, Vikram flirted, biting his wife’s chin.
“Ah”, Keerthi hissed, moaning when her husband sucked on the skin.
“Uh huh”, Keerthi pulled away,”I am waiting.”
“Keerthi”, Vikram warned.
“My husband can’t even say he loves me”, Keerthi said dramatically.
Vikram’s lips twitched, he found his wife’s tantrum cute.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, teasing,”Maybe he doesn’t.”
“Bullshit”, Keerthi declared,”He is just lazy to talk.”
Vikram laughed, throwing his head back,”Lazy to talk?”, Vikram kissed his wife’s neck,”I am not lazy with other things”, his tone suggestive, peppering kisses below her collar bone.
Keerthi’s smiled,”I know that. Selective laziness”, she teased.
Vikram smiled, nipping onto his wife’s neck, unbuttoning her shirt.
“Vikram”, Keerthi whined.
“Fine. I love you too. Can we get on with work now?”
