Elisa finished and calmly looked at Daniel Burton. “It’s none of your business!” He said.
“Your own body, you have the right to do it. I only hope that when the time comes, you should not bother hospital personnel and others and don’t hurt the medical staff who take care of you.” Elisa said slowly, “I’ll ask the nurse to send a new quilt.” Elisa wanted to open the door and walked out at the end of her speech.
“Stupid woman, have I let you go?” Daniel blurted out when she scolded him.
Elisa turned around and looked at him calmly. There was no impatience in her eyes, and her eyes were still friendly and conniving when doctors saw patients.
That kind of affinity and connivance made Daniel even angrier. What qualifications did these people have to show such expressions and eyes in front of him?
He looked at Elisa coldly. “Clean this place!”
“I can help you clean, but let me tell you first, this is not my job responsibility,” Elisa said and went out to take brooms and garbage shovels and was well trained to deal with the mess in the house. Daniel’s eyes looked at her coldly, and the ice on her face did not thaw at all. When Elisa was about to finish packing, the nurse in charge of Daniel came back from dinner.
The nurse was surprised when she saw Doctor Elisa. Elisa asked her to apply for a new bed quilt. The nurse nodded and ran to get the quilt.
After taking out the garbage, Elisa returned to Daniel’s ward and said, “Mr. Burton, I understand your mood of recuperation, but this process is inevitable. It is not easy for everyone to work. Please raise your hand occasionally, don’t hurt yourself, and don’t embarrass others.”
“Are you teaching me? What qualifications do you have to teach me?” Daniel in his angry voice.
“I didn’t mean it. My mother is a fan of yours, and she watches every movie and TV series you play. She knows that you are injured and is very worried about you. I believe other fans of yours are in a similar mood. They care more about your injury than you. Even if it is not for you, you should cheer up early for them.”
“Do you think those people care more about me? As long as I don’t appear in front of the media for two months, they call other stars husbands.”
Elisa was stunned. “I can’t refute what you said.”
“Get out of here!” Daniel yelled. “Get out at once.”
“Goodbye, Mr. Burton.” Elisa replied, closing the ward door for Daniel. He looked at the closed ward door and couldn’t wait to strangle Elisa.
When Elisa went downstairs, the nurse just came up with a clean quilt.
The nurse said embarrassedly, “Dr. Elisa.”
“Is Mr. Burton always in a bad mood?” Elisa asked.
The nurse nodded. “He may be just injured. He can’t accept it psychologically. He loses his temper several times every day, either throwing things or swearing. Often in the middle of the night, other patients can’t sleep.”
“He must have a big psychological gap now, and we can’t understand that kind of psychology. Go to work. I should go downstairs first.” Elisa said.
“Uh-huh, see you, Dr. Elisa.”
Elisa smiled and went downstairs to his office.
She shook her head as she remembered Daniel. Others have no idea how difficult it was to heal from an injury. There was a feeling of standing and talking without pain. People had never witnessed any big scenes with well-known celebrities like Daniel. It must be too hard for him to lose control like that.

Elisa didn’t know who exposed the news of Daniel staying in Westmead Hospital. When she got off work in the afternoon, the hospital was full of paparazzi who came to take pictures and draw materials, which once affected the everyday work of the hospital.
Hospitals had always been places where media reporters dug up materials. If they were not careful, they would make headlines and get scolded for a few and tagged as “black-hearted hospitals,” “black-hearted doctors,” and “black-hearted nurses.”
Therefore, when dealing with paparazzi, the way adopted was more subtle, and they couldn’t refuse the shooting of paparazzi directly, and they couldn’t cooperate too much, which affected their everyday work.
Few medical staff could grasp the degree well and almost didn’t drive half the medical staff in the hospital crazy. Elisa was no exception, and she was afraid that disaster would come out of her mouth and be sprayed to death by the director.
It was not easy to stay up at work time. Elisa immediately changed into a white coat to leave.
Dr. Clarke from the same department came over. “Dr. Elisa, don’t slip away. Come back and help me on duty.”
“In what class? Don’t make it a busy night?”
“You guessed it right.”
“Dr. Clarke, can you say it in advance when you change to a busy night shift? People are all anxious to return, and you say it.” Elisa wailed.
“It’s better to avoid dealing with paparazzi in the afternoon if you don’t have time to arrive. The patient in bed 37, whom I am temporarily in charge of, has decided to have surgery the following day. My shift tonight is hectic. Therefore I won’t be able to go to the operation room tomorrow. Can I assist you in spending the night next time?”
“No, let me touch it, and I reluctantly agree.” Elisa showed a sad smile.
“You big pervert.” Dr. Clarke covered his chest and defended his moral integrity.
“Come on, hurry back. I’ll go to the canteen for a meal and give you the night shift at night.”
“Thank you, dear.”
Elisa waved him lazily and sat back in her seat.
Annie asked, “Elisa, let me order food for you.”
“I’m not hungry yet. I’ll talk about it when I’m hungry later. Go back.” Elisa said.
“Don’t you want me to stay with you?”
“Accompany me to the busy night? Don’t toss. I can cope.”
Annie left reluctantly.
Elisa called William. “William, your driver doesn’t have to pick me up from work. I just changed shifts with my colleagues. I’ll go to my shift tonight, and then I’ll go to my shift tomorrow. I can’t go home until tomorrow afternoon. You and Bruce eat by yourselves and don’t skip meals.”
“Do you usually schedule like this?”
“No, just for special circumstances. I can secretly sleep for a while, and you don’t have to worry about me.”
“Hmm.”
Elisa hung up the phone, her heart was a little broken. Wouldn’t her husband say a few beautiful words to comfort her?
Working the night shift wasn’t a big deal for her as a professional doctor, but she liked to be melodramatic sometimes. Elisa rubbed her face, rubbing the affectation away, and rushed to the canteen to eat a large pot of rice.

At night, Elisa inspected all the wards in the department, recorded the data, told the nurse on duty about several patients with special conditions, and then went back to the office.
Elisa made a phone call as soon as she walked into the office. William was sitting at her desk and looking down at his mobile phone. The thin fluorescent lamps made his outline dim and unclear, making his facial features untrue. William looked back and said, “Surprised?”
“William, why are you here?” Elisa’s tone was an unconcealed surprise.
William looked at her instantly shining little face and found that he came right that night. “To send you a midnight snack.”
