William went upstairs with a glass of milk and a small dish of steamed red dates, and saw a woman covering herself from head to toe with a blanket.
He went to bed with a laugh. “You are going to suffocate like this. Am I a murderer?”
“Go away.” Elisa White’s vague voice came from under the blanket.
“Well, I did help you with the sanitary pads. Hope you brighten up a little bit?”
“No!” Elisa White’s voice paused and shouted, “William, how dare you laugh at me?!”
William held back the laughing arch overflowing from the corners of his mouth. “If you don’t laugh, don’t laugh. Come out quickly.”
