The next day, when Arien got up she didn’t see Devian in the room.
She got up and something caught her sight. It was a small chit on the bedside table.
It was written “Mrs Lyle, I’m out for business. It was urgent so I didn’t get a chance to tell you. I’ll be back till evening. Have your breakfast.”
Arien smiled and kept the note carefully. Just as she turned around the phone rang.
“You’re up?” It was as if he had already known.
“Yes” she said with a smile. “Have you kept spies around me, Mr Lyle?”
“Maybe” he replied. “You have to eat your breakfast before doing anything. I’ll return by evening.”
“Okay.” She replied.
“Then hang up. I’ve something to deal with” he said.
Arien could sense his smile from his tone.
“Then I’ll hung up first.” she kept the phone.
She felt warm in her heart because of every small things he do for her thoughtfully.
She got ready and went to office.

“How did I get so lucky to meet the Ace Corp’s president?” The man sitting in front of Devian said.
“Mr Willis, What I want is what I get by hook or by crook.” Devian said.
“May I know the reason of Mr Ace being so interested in such a lowly Jenner business company?” The man asked.
“Because I like it” Devian said. “And with my status, I don’t need any other reason to buy something.” He added.
Devian’s subordinates have long kept a great deal in exchange for the Jenner business company but the Willis Corporation was not ready to accept it.
So to confirm the deal Devian had to himself meet the ‘bold’ person who wasn’t agreeing to his offer.
“Haha!” Mr Willis let out a transient laugh. “How can I offend Mr Ace? I’ll accept the deal.”
“Good to hear that. My assistant will take care of the further process.” He got up and walked out.
After Devian had left, the man’s expression changed and the smile in his face faded away.

Arien was completely bored in the office.
Since the people here had known that she was their director’s wife, they haven’t given her a single work.
Not only that, they have been urging her to take away the place of manager in sales department.
Finally she decided to take the position of the manager. But even now she wasn’t getting any work.
She sat there in the office scribbling some designs.
Jane came into the office followed by Walter Mason.
“Manager, we had some ideas on our new arrivals.” Walter said.
“Don’t call me that. I’m still Arien!” She didn’t like they way they were addressing her now. It felt very distant.
“Arien” looking at dress designs on the table Jane interrupted “have you made these designs?”
“Yes, I have been designing gowns since long. It has been my passion” Arien said.
“I came here to say that we should try wedding gowns for the next batch?” Walter suggested.
Arien’s eyes lit up. “That’s a great idea!” She exclaimed “Why didn’t I think of it before?”
Seeing her being so excited Jane and Walter were very happy.
“I’ll talk to Mr Lyle about it” Arien became a bit professional.
“Yes Mrs Lyle.” both Jane and Walter said.
After they left the office, Arien’s phone rang.
The number seemed familiar but she wasn’t able to recall who it was.
She picked it up saying, “hello” but the other side was silent.
Now Arien remember that she had blank calls from this number some days before.
“Hello” Arien spoke “If you have any hidden motives behind these calls then let me tell you, I’m not scared of you!”
Saying that she hung up the phone. But her phone rang again.
“I told you, you can’t scare me like this!” She shouted.
“Arien, why would I scare you?” Ashley’s joking voice came from the receiver.
“Oh Ash… It’s you” Arien calmed herself.
“So who should it be, maybe Mr Lyle?” Ashley laughed. “And why would he scare you? You both had an argument?” Ashley laughed.
“No no… Tell me what’s the matter? Calling me in work hours, it must be something important.” Arien changed the topic.
“Work hours?” Ashley exclaimed! “You don’t know I’m jobless.”
“Why? what happened to your job?” She asked.
“Don’t tell me you don’t know what happened to the Blooms and to the Chester!” Ashley wondered how could Arien be so uninterested in trending news.
“What happened?” She asked
“Hump! Devian Ace announced that he would not collaborate with them and as the result their stocks decreased in the market and all the other companies withdrew their deals. They are finished!”
Ashley was jobless now but she was more happy because of the downfall of the Chester.
“Really!” Arien jumped up
“Devian Ace?” She thought. “Are these all coincidence?”
“Silly girl, why would I lie to you? But now I have to find a job” Ashley said.
“Then you have a good news. Our company has job for you.” Arien smiled.
“Really? When do I need to come for the interview?” Ashley was more than happy. She could work with her friends away from that stinky Chester!
“No need of interview. I know your work and you can join from tomorrow in the sales department, what say?”
Arien could sense Ashley took a sigh of relief so she immediately asked her to join.
“Okay I’ll be there on time” they hung up the phone.

It was a long and boring day. Arien count help thinking about the calls she was getting lately.
But she couldn’t figure out the person who would do such a thing.
All the way back she could only think about the person who was with Harry.
Arien reached home it was already evening and time for his return.
She thought of making dinner for him but when she entered the house she smelled nice aroma of delicious food.
She walked to the kitchen calling for aunt Anne.
But her eyes seemed to pop out when she saw him, Devian, cooking!
“You’re back?” He asked.
“It’s still an hour for your flight to land here in Victorville. How did you…..” Arien asked, confused.
“Do you think I need to travel according to those planes timing?” Devian said.
“I don’t know…” Arien was still surprised. “Why are you cooking?”
“I have a good news for you” Devian smiled.
“What news?” Arien asked.
“Your Jenner assets and business Company has been transferred in your name.” Devian said.
“What?” Arien jumped.
“Yes… But you don’t have to worry, you’ll take care of the business from now” He added.
“Devian, how did you do that? It was under some Willis Corporation which is rather influential in Hill City.”
“How could I not do it for my wife?” Devian answered.
“Then Mr Lyle, I had something to discuss with you also.” She said. “What happened to the Chester?”
“They offended the Ace so they were revenged” Devian answered rather casually.
“Offended? The Ace?” Arien thought. Maybe it was her misinterpretation of the situation and maybe she was not the reason why the Chester were doomed.
Little did she know she is the center of attention for the Ace Corporation’s president, Devian Ace, itself.
She also discussed about giving the job to Ashley. And then about the bridal gowns as new arrivals.
Devian didn’t refuse anything and said, “You’re my wife. You could take decisions and it would be considered just like it is mine.”
“Okay!” Arien made a cute face. “I’m hungry.” She patted her belly.
“It’s done already” he said.
