Sunny’s POV
“Oh my God, I can’t believe my oldest daughter’s already getting married…” said mom while she was looking at Mira who’s being groomed by her stylist.
“Mom, it’s not as if I’m going to a far away land, I’m just getting married, I’m still alive.” Mira said, almost laughing because of how over-reacting our mom was.
I sat on the stool next to Mira. “She’s been like that for years, Mira. Remember when you first go to a school trip? She cried too, she even said that we should follow you there. Oh, and also when you go to the prom, mom said you’ll get pregnant soon so we’ll have to be prepared. God, can you just see how exaggerated that is?”
“Of course, I’m worried because I’m your mom and you’re my only daughter. Oh God, my daughters are really growing too fast. When Sunny finally graduated, for sure she’ll get married with Damon too.”
“Eeew! Not with that bastard!” I yelled which made all of the people inside that room turn their gaze at me. “I-I mean, not too early mom. I still want to fulfill my dreams, live a happy and peaceful life.”
And that peace could only happen when that demonic bastard finally let me go from that agreement.
“Well, you can have a peaceful life even if you’re already married.” Mom said.
“You see that? When it comes to me, mom rushes to let go.” I kidded.
Mira laughed. “Because it’s so unusual of you to go out. And you know what? When you met Lemon, I think you became more outgoing and happier.”
Outgoing because that bastard always calls me just so he could ask me to buy something for him even though I’m in the middle of taking my rest.
“Eris is right, if you were to get married with someone, I want Damon to be that man.” said mom.
“Mom, stop mentioning about my marriage, okay? This is my sister’s wedding, not mine.”
***
It was a beautiful afternoon garden wedding which Mira has been dreaming of when wee were just kids. She used to tell me how much she wants to get married in a garden full of sunflowers while I always tell him how much I want to travel the world and grow old alone.
The visitors were already sitting down on white chairs faced to the altar where the priest was already standing and reading some book that I don’t know. The bible, perhaps?
Oh my God, I should have told him to do some prayer to Damon so that the bad evil spirits inside him would finally go out and leave.
The whole venue was peaceful, with all the tall trees shading us underneath and the sky filled with varying colors of orange, yellow and red, blue…and almost purple. All the visitors have sunflower tied on their wrists and are all wearing yellow, as what my sister likes them to be. The backdrop was also filled with sunflowers and on the aisle was archways of sunflowers too where Mira would walk her way to her handsome groom.
“Need some tissue?” I was surprised when Damon suddenly appeared in front of me, handing me a box of tissue.
I looked up at him and was about to curse at his face but then when I saw how he looks, my jaw literally dropped. He was wearing a white suit with a sunflower pin on his right pocket. His hair was permed a little and was almost covering his eyes. Every one was actually looking at his direction, wondering if he’s the groom. “Am I really too handsome to handle?” he suddenly said while smiling at me.
“S-Shut up. H-handsome your face. I don’t need that tissue!”
“Alright, but just tell me if you need it later.” He said then he sat next to me.
I looked at him with my furrowed brows. “Why are you sitting beside me?”
“Why can’t I? I’m already part of the family. And I’m the best friend of the bride.”
“Oh come on, I think you’re the one who needs the tissue here. For sure you’ll cry later when you finally see how beautiful she is.” I teased him.
“Oh really? Don’t go crying on my shoulders with your ugly crying face when you see them walking on the aisle okay?”
I shrugged. “I already accepted that fact anyway. I won’t cry anymore.”
“And if you do, you’ll treat me some ice cream.”
“If I don’t, you’re the one who’s going to treat me some ice cream.”
He nodded proudly. “Sure! That’s a deal!”
“Deal!”
A few minutes after, while Damon and I were still glaring at each other. Henry suddenly appeared and caught everyone’s attention. He was wearing a white tuxedo with a black bowtie. His hair was slicked back, showing his oh-so-handsome forehead and thick black brows. He was smiling huge, he’s obviously nervous yet super excited. He looks so handsome and I just can’t take my eyes off him.
“You’re drooling.” The devil beside me whispered again so I glared at him as I wiped the corners of my mouth which made him laugh.
Then few more minutes after that, we were already called because the bride was already there and I’m the bridesmaid while Damon was one of the groomsmen. We were paired together and so we had to walk down the aisle beside each other. “Don’t you think a wedding like this is beautiful?” Damon whispered to me while we were walking.
“Yeah, it’ beautiful.”
“Then should we just have a garden wedding too?”
I looked at him. “W-What the hell are you saying?”
“A garden wedding. I mean, you could have a wedding like this. I’m not saying that I’m going to marry you.”
“As if I want to marry someone like you.” I mumbled.
“As if someone would actually want to marry you.” He teased.
Ugh. Why did they even pair me up with this monkey?
When we were about to reach the front, I suddenly saw mom and dad together with Damon’s parents smiling at us while taking some pictures. Dad even acted as if crying, so dramatic.
