I glared angrily at Calvin, “This is my home!”
I opened the door with the key. The house seemed to have been cleaned up by my aunt. There was no dust and the furniture was neatly placed.
This time I came back, not only to help my mother with the divorce settlement, but also to bring her some clothes . Maybe we won’t be back for a long time .
Calvin looked at the photo on the wall and asked, “Who’s in the photo?”
“My grandfather and grandmother, and my uncle and mother, that’s the old house my grandparents lived in. Later, my mother and I didn’t have money to rent a house, so we moved here.”
“Why don’t you have money to rent a house? What about your father?” Calvin frowned.
“Dad wants a divorce, but my mom doesn’t agree, so we got kicked out!” My tone was very calm. Things have been going on for a long time, and I have no feelings about it.
After I finished speaking, I went to my room to pack.
Calvin’s POV
“Hey, can you come in?” Alexia’s voice suddenly came from inside.
I entered the room and saw Alexia standing on the stool trying to get the box onto the closet.
“Can you help me take the box?”
I reached out my hand and easily took the box down.
Alexia’ POV
“I’m not hey, what are you supposed to call me?” Calvin didn’t hand me the box, but asked me this question.
“Calvin!”
Calvin reached over and wrapped his arms around my slender waist, taking me in his arms and kissing me without any warning.
I was kissed before I could react,
“You owe me!” said Calvin.
But I understood. That was the kiss I owed him the last time we were in the hospital.
“Hmm! Don’t you think our relationship is weird?!”
He had kissed me too many times and I was going crazy. I didn’t love him, but I knew I liked him, but whether it was forced or voluntary, I felt no discomfort or nausea, I felt like a slut!
Turns out that was the real reason I was resisting him!
Calvin blinked, “There’s nothing weird, our relationship has always been normal!”
“No! It’s not normal! It’s not normal at all!” I shook my head,
“Aren’t we a fake marriage? And you said you didn’t like me, so why are you kissing me? Don’t you feel sick if you don’t like me? ?”
“When I kissed you, did you feel sick?” Calvin stared at me, waiting for me to answer. At that moment, he was a little worried. Wouldn’t he feel sad if she said she was sick?
“I’ll ask you that first!” I’m embarrassed to answer such a question because I don’t feel bad, so I ask such a question dejectedly.
I bit my lower lip and made an embarrassed face.
“You’re not gross, are you?” Calvin looked at me and knew I didn’t really hate his kisses.
He was really afraid I would say “gross,” which hurt his self-esteem too much.
“But-” I was still fighting back.
“Nothing!” Calvin hugged me.
“Since it’s not gross, why not enjoy it?”
“I don’t…” I immediately fought back when I heard the words ‘enjoy’, I don’t want to enjoy being with Calvin!
Calvin glared at me, not letting me continue. “No one can say what will happen in the future, maybe we’ll fall in love!”
“How is that possible! I can’t fall in love with you!” I grimaced at him.
“Is it that absolute? What if you really do fall in love with me within a year?” Calvin raised an eyebrow.
“Then I run naked!” I don’t think I’ll fall in love with him!
Calvin was speechless, “I’ll suffer from that!”
“Then what do you want?” I was actually joking too, I didn’t dare run naked.
“Just give me a dance every night!” said Calvin solemnly after thinking long and hard.
“It’s that easy?” I thought Calvin was going to say something amazing, but I didn’t expect it to be that easy.
“Of course -” Calvin paused, with a strange smile he suddenly mumbled in my ear, whispering, “Striptease!”
“Rogue!” I stared at him and blushed.
“Do you dare make a bet with me?” Calvin hugged me tightly. He smelled the fragrant scent in my hair and asked in a low voice.
“What are you betting?” I asked.
“I bet you’ll fall in love with me within a year!” Calvin’s voice was very appealing.
“What about the bet?” I leaned against his chest, afraid to look at him.
Calvin said seriously. “As long as you fall in love with me, I’m willing to give you my whole heart! I will never leave you again!” Calvin said this like a vow. Without giving me a chance to think about it, he kissed me again.
Calvin actually said that he would give me his heart as long as I could fall in love with him. . . . . .
But why does this bet sound so strange?
I sighed, “Well, I’ll bet you!”
“I remember you telling me that you got married because you wanted something from me, but now you have to bet me with your heart. In fact, you used those words on purpose to trick me into marrying you. Right?” I stared at Calvin.
Calvin looked at me and blinked. “And if I say yes?”
I frowned, had he admitted it? Had he really lied to me about getting married?
But why had he done that? Had he really fallen in love with me at first sight, fallen for me?
“If you have any questions, you can ask them all at once!” Calvin decided to clear up any misunderstandings today.
I thought about it and asked, “Did you know me before?”
“Yes!” Calvin answered simply.
“At the coffee shop, you brought me home because you recognized me?” I asked again.
“Of course!” replied Calvin honestly.
“And when did we meet?” I asked further.
“Six years ago!” Calvin looked me in the eye and said solemnly.
“But I have no impression of you at all!” If I’ve ever met a man like Calvin, it’s impossible to be unimpressed.
“I cannot answer you that question!” Calvin fell silent and shook his head.
Well, I know enough today, so I’ll ask again later.
Calvin took my hand and said very seriously, “You can be sure that I will respect your decision, if you are not ready, I will not force you!”
On the way back to the hospital, I got angrier and angrier and didn’t look at Calvin. Suddenly, I thought about my first day on the job. A colleague told me that Calvin left his company on his own and went to another company to become a manager. Is he looking for someone?
Could it be that he’s looking for me?
My phone suddenly vibrated and it turned out to be a call from my father.
My mother has been in the hospital for so long. Except for the one time I called him to ask for money, my father hasn’t called until now. Why is he calling now?
“Hey, Dad!” I connected.
“Alexia, where are you now?” Dad’s voice sounded a little worried.
“What’s going on? Are you looking for me?” I frowned.
“Well, there’s something I want to discuss with you, which is that your aunt isn’t well and she’s at the police station. Can you drop the accusation and let her come out?” He said in a negotiating tone.
I was shaking with anger. He knew the bad things Gloria Williams he had done, but he still helped her.
“Because of you, my mother almost died! Do you want me to withdraw the case now? Dad, is your heart made of iron?” I couldn’t help but yell at him at the end.
“Alexia, I’m arguing with you now! Don’t be so arrogant just because you know a rich friend. You can ask your mother what she did!” Philip Brown was furious and hung up the phone.
I held the phone tightly in my hand and tears came.
I really don’t know that the father who once spoiled me and loved my mother so much is now becoming so uncaring!
“My father wants me to withdraw the complaint!” I cried.
“Yes.” Calvin nodded. “I heard.”
“My parents have been married for almost thirty years. They’ve always had a very good relationship. What misunderstanding could have caused my father to become so cold-blooded?” I wondered.
“Maybe it’s not just a misunderstanding!” Calvin didn’t say anything else, thinking that something must have happened between my parents.
“Show me your parents’ divorce settlement.” Calvin shook my hand.
I handed him the divorce agreement.
Calvin looked it over carefully, and after a few minutes, he asked, “Your father’s company, does your mother have a share in it?”
“Yes, she does. Mother is still the accountant for the company.”
“It seems your father doesn’t want to leave you anything!” Calvin handed the divorce settlement back to me with a deep expression on his face.
“Yes.” I bowed my head. “He transferred his shares to Gloria Williams and Abby Williams six years ago.”
“And what does your mother say about that now?” Calvin asked again.
“Mom says we should take back what’s rightfully ours!” Why do I always think Calvin’s words mean something else?
“I’ll find you a lawyer.” Calvin didn’t ask further and decided to help.
I’m very happy. With his help, we can definitely get back what’s ours.
“Why are you treating me so well?”, I asked.
“Haven’t you always said that I humiliate you and treat you badly?” Calvin raised his eyebrows, his mouth slightly puckered.
I stared at him, thinking he was being so nice to me .
I hesitated, “Could it be that you’re admitting this to the wrong person?”
“Do you think I’m such an easy-going person?” Calvin looked at me a little helplessly.
“But -” I searched through my memories, but couldn’t find any memories that had to do with Calvin. I was really worried.
“Do you remember this?” Calvin suddenly handed me something.
I looked over, it was a little girl, and I saw the picture in his wallet.
“Who is she?” I took the photo. I thought the photo was beautifully taken, but it was obvious it was meant to be a snapshot.
“Don’t you know her?” Calvin blinked.
“Should I know her?” I was surprised.
“Forget it if you don’t recognize her!” Calvin was a little disappointed.
“Wait! I have an earring like that too, the exact same one!” I looked at it closely again,
“This earring is a birthday present from my father. It’s unique in the world…” I couldn’t say any more and looked at Calvin, “It can’t be, it’s me!”
I looked at the photo blankly, and the more I looked at it, the more I felt that this girl looked like me, no, that was definitely me!
“You, you really know me!” I looked stupidly at Calvin, my heart was beating so fast.
