When Greg was gone, Bianca came in. She had a triumphant smile on her face that made James want to rip her face off. “It’s done my king we have not only Lily’s pup but the alpha’s and several others too,” she told him and James couldn’t stop from growling. He pulled at the silvered restraints binding both his wrists and his ankles. They ignored him and Bianca continued her report, but her expression grew bitter. “The alpha female killed nearly six of our kind before she fell,” she explained.
James felt his stomach turn as he wondered which alpha female they were talking about Liz or Sandy. He closed his eyes in silent prayer that the leech didn’t mean to say that they were fallen as in dead. “It is to be expected she’s an alpha,” Silvano stated and James growled again at them, only to still be ignored. He swore he’d make them pay for this.
“Now we have all the pieces,” Silvano said, sounding pleased. “Time to wait for the hybrid to come to us,” he said with a cold triumphant tone. “And I hope I do not have to remind you that no one is to drink from the children! We cannot have accidents. They’re no use to us dead,” he told her. James wasn’t sure if he should be relieved that the children wouldn’t be some vamp’s meal or worried by their blatant disrespect for innocent life.
“What about him,” Bianca said with a glance in his direction and James growled at her, silently vowing that if she got near him, he’d rip off her face with his teeth. Silvano sighed with a wave of his hand as if he was already bored with the conversation.
“Oh, go ahead but do not get carried away, we need him alive, and do not take too long. I want you waiting for Lily when she comes,” he told her and left the room. Bianca smiled as she walked over to him and James growled at her again.
“I’ve wanted to taste you for so long,” she said running her fingers lightly up his arm and onto his shoulder as she walked around him slowly. “Lily’s been so selfish keeping you all to herself,” she whispered and he jerked away from her, hissing with pain as he tugged against the silver restraints. He felt the warm blood run down his wrists from the burns.
“Get away from me you disgusting leech,” he snarled at her and she chuckled as she walked around to the front of him then gave him a silly pout.
“Aw, now that’s not nice,” she told him as she sat on his lap. He scowled at her, his skin crawling with revulsion at her touch.
“I’ll give you a quick death if you let me loose. How’s that for nice,” he snapped, pushing himself back against the chair to get as far from her as he possibly could.
“It’s okay I don’t need you to like me,” Bianca said with a laugh as she went to caress his cheek. Quickly James shot forward and bit down on her hand. She screamed and tried to pull away from him, but he sunk his teeth into her flesh. Something suddenly hit James across the temple and he let go before he could stop himself. Bianca whimpered holding onto her bloodied hand. Another vampire stood to his left, holding a metal baton menacingly.
“Gag him,” Bianca demanded, wrapping her mangled hand in a cloth, another vampire had given her. James fought the vampire that was to his left as much as he could, but there wasn’t much he could do, being bound as he was. A piece of cloth was shoved into his mouth while around wrapped around his mouth forcing the gag to stay in place. Bianca waved her good hand at the other vampires once they were done.
“Did you think that was clever James? Now you’re even more uncomfortable than before,” she told him, sitting once again on his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck. “But don’t worry,” she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek earning a muffled snarl from him. “I am going to make sure you enjoy every single moment of this James Lacrosse,” she said, kissing her way from his cheek to his neck before sinking her fangs into his throat.
James closed his eyes and growled, feeling his skin tingle with the beast’s fury. The silver in the restraints prevented him from shifting into the beast, but he could feel the slightly painful pinpricks across his skin. A warm and pleasant sensation wash over him and clouding his mind, making it hard to think. This was her, he thought, hating the sudden pleasure that he was now feeling.
Closing his eyes, he forced his mind to Lily. She carried their bond so strong it had broken Silvano’s influence on her. Maybe he could find a way to use the bond to stop Bianca from tricking his body to believe that it enjoyed her. He thought of Lily and the last night they were together. Suddenly James could feel Lily’s presence as if she was standing right there beside him and just like that the pleasure was gone.
Pain tore through James’s neck and throughout his body and he couldn’t stop from crying out in shock at the suddenness of it. He felt Bianca pull from him, he saw the surprise on her face as his blood dripped from her face. “How did you do that?” She asked then scowled at him. “It doesn’t matter. If you’d rather feel pain then so be it,” she snapped and now ripped into his throat drinking from him savagely. James grit his teeth, preferring to feel this before the pleasure he had tried to force on him.
Finally, Bianca stopped and got up with a satisfied sigh. “That was truly delicious,” She said with a heavy satisfied voice as she got up from his lap and licking his blood from her lips. “I think I’ll be back for more, but first I have to go tell the little hybrid the king’s demands,” she said with a wave and left. James sighed, the loss of blood fatiguing him even more than he was before. He lightly tugged on the restraints, using the burn to keep him conscious.
He looked around the room, it looked fairly large room, but it was hard to tell with the small amount of light coming from the tiny lights in the ceiling. The walls were a cement gray color and bare except moisture stains where water was leaking in very slowly. There was no decoration of any type, no windows, or anything else.
The room only had one door and it looked like a simple wooden door, but again it was hard to tell from the light and the distance. He sighed again and let his head fall down on his chest. He didn’t realize he had been sleeping until the loud noise had woken him up. He lifted his head to see Silvano charging into the room, looking furious. Something must not have gone according to plan, James thought pleased.
Silvano charged up to him and hit James with his cane. James’s head snapped to the right. It was a hard hit, but James expected more from a vampire king. “You damn dog,” the vampire spat and James couldn’t help but smile at seeing the vampire so angry. He wasn’t sure why he was pissed, but James liked it. “You and your stupid mark are causing me so much trouble! The hybrid out of control and Bianca is dead because of you,” he sneered and James’s smile dimmed.
Lily was out of control? Bianca was dead? This didn’t sound good at all. “If she’s out of control it’s your fault,” he growled.
“No, it’s that mark you placed on her! She would have been under complete control by now if you had not interfered. Now she sends one of my own vampires to warn me that I’ll be paying for my actions!” he snapped then struck James again, busting open the lycan’s lip. James spat his blood at the vampire. Silvano scowled at him and sniffed with indignation as he cleaned the blood and saliva from his sleeve.
“Foul beast. I will enjoy bringing your death upon you,” he sneered then struck at James several times before turning and leaving the room. Once he was gone James let his head fall to his chest, he could feel his face swell and sting from the vampire’s assault. He closed his eyes and thought of Lily. He could almost feel her desperation, her fear, and her waning control. You can do this Lily, he thought, wishing he could be there for her.
More than anything now she had to keep a clear head or she’d walk right into the vampire king’s trap. James shouted in frustration pulling at the restraints of the chair, ignoring the pain as he tried to free himself. She needed him, James was sure of it. Lily needed his help, need to lean on him, to trust him to help her keep control instead of being here, strapped by silver to a chair.
James shout turned into almost a cry when he slumped back in the chair, not even a little bit closer to freeing himself. He looked at his bleeding wrists, he could see the blackened skin from under the silver. How could he be trapped here? He had the beast. He was feared by all werewolves. He was famous for being uncontrollable but here he was a prisoner of a stupid chair with silver straps.
Feeling like a complete failure, James let his head fall on his chest. He’d failed everyone especially Lily. Please, Lily, he thought as he let his head fall back. Please just keep thinking like a human, don’t let him get to you, he pleaded silently and let dark unconsciousness take him again.
