“You know the Cho family?” Andrew asked amazed and Chris nodded his smile growing a little.
“Yeah I do and she just happens to be a direct decedent too,” Chris told him and Andrew’s eyes widened and Tony looked about as confused as James did.
“Who are the Cho dad?” Tony asked and Andrew had a smile similar to Chris’s now.
“The Cho witches are one of the oldest and most powerful family of witches. Most of the family still resides in China but in the sixties a few of them moved here,” Andrew explained then looked to Chris.
“How did you meet a Cho witch?” He asked with surprise and wonder in his voice. James noticed Chris’s smile falter slightly.
“Just one of those things,” he replied evasively then cleared his throat. “But anyway… she’s going to be working on some charms to help block vampiric persuasion. Lily will have one by tomorrow. If things get really bad she can be here at a moment’s notice,” he finished and Andrew leaned over, giving Chris a hard slap on his back.
“This is the best news I’ve heard in years, a Cho witch! You must have some hell of kind of influence up there in Montana,” Andrew said with a large beaming smile and Chris gave him a shaky smile.
“If these “charms” can block the persuasion then that will help even the playing ground some,” Keon admitted and Tony nodded in approval but he still had a grim look on his face.
“Good, but let’s not only rely on that. Keon, I want you to work with your enforcers. I want them to be ready for anything Silvano throws at us,” Tony demanded and if, at all possible, his expression turned even darker. “The days those bastards come in our territory and fuck with our people is over! This meeting is over, I suggest you get started now!” he spat with pure venomous hate in his voice and the alpha influence pouring from him that surprised James.
By the look on everyone’s face, James wasn’t the only one surprised. “Ye-yes alpha,” Keon replied with a nod, but his eyes were on the floor, clearly shaken. He got up from his chair and left the room. Tony turned to Chris and the other werewolf turned a whole shade whiter.
“Get with Keon, find out how many enforcers will be on the first line to protect Lily then get with your witch so they know how many of these charms are needed. If it’s possible I want them by tomorrow,” the alpha told him, his voice less venomous but the grim seriousness was still there. Like Keon, Chris kept his eyes on the ground as he nodded before leaving. Andrew started to stand to leave as well when Tony told him to stay. “Stay, I want you here. I want both of you here when I talk to Hunter,” he told them.
Tony took out his cell hitting a button then barking at the person on the line to bring in Hunter. James glanced over to Andrew, who looked about excited as James felt about this little reunion. It wasn’t long before Hunter walked into the room with a scowl on his face. He sat down in a chair close to Andrew but not right next to him. “Alpha,” he stated coolly then turned to Andrew and greeted him just as coolly but James he didn’t even acknowledge.
“It’s been reported that you’ve been discussing my sister,” Tony stated in a flat, emotionless tone. Hunter moved his jaw side to side but was silent a good minute before he looked in the alpha’s direction.
“Your sister? I may have mentioned her, but I can’t think of anything specific,” he replied with a slight shrug of his shoulders. He had an air of superiority around him that made James want to slam his first in his face.
“So you didn’t say Lily was dangerous to the pack?” Tony asked, his voice relaying nothing of what he was thinking or feeling.
“Oh, we’re talking about Lily? I thought we were talking about your sister,” Hunter stated with a feigned expression of surprise but there was a ghost of a smile on his face. James gripped the edges of the chair to keep himself seated. Tony didn’t take his eyes off of Hunter, his face was still passive.
“Alright then, did you or did you not accuse Lily of being a danger to this pack?” Tony asked him, leaning back in his chair. Hunter gave a quick dry laugh and leaned back in his own chair as well with a shake of his head. He licked his lips with a look of disbelief on his face and once again took a moment before replying.
“I didn’t accuse her of being dangerous,” Hunter told him then leaned forward placing his hands on the table. “Because accusing is what someone does when they think but I don’t think I know. I know that that thing you insist on calling your sister is dangerous! What I did was warn people who have the right to know what’s walking their streets!”
“Don’t call her a thing!” James growled as he shot up from his chair and he would have said more, but Tony held up his hand.
“James sit down,” Tony told him. He turned to Tony angrily, but the alpha gave him a hard look that warned him against any argument. With a final growl, James threw himself into his chair. Tony got up from his chair, placing his hands behind his back he walked around the table towards Hunter.
“So you were warning the pack against the threat Lily represented?” Tony asked and Hunter after a moment nodded.
“Yeah Tony, that’s what I did,” Hunter replied sharply. “You don’t kn-” Hunter started, but Tony cut him off when he grabbed Hunter behind the neck and pinned his uncle’s face into the table causing both James and Andrew to jump in surprise.
“No, Hunter you don’t know,” Tony literally snarled at him, ignoring the curses and complaints from Hunter. “She is a part of this pack,” he growled.
“She has no right,” Hunter snapped back and Tony pulled him back only to slam his head on the table again.
“She has every right!” Tony shouted at him. “She’s my sister!”
