There were people rappelling off a large wooden structure to the far left, to the far right was a large skateboard park and a variety of other activities in between them. “What is this?” Lily asked as she looked over the place.
“Well after everything that’s happened I realized that our children have been too vulnerable and I wanted to do something for the kids that would give them something fun to do yet be safe,” Tony explained and Lily smiled at him, feeling proud at the type of alpha he was becoming. “There’s also a ten-mile dirt bike trail,” he added giving her a sly smile.
“Really? Oh, I haven’t been on a bike in years!” Lily said, getting excited now. It was one of the things she loved to do as a teen but when she started college and work, she just never had enough time.
“Yeah but don’t worry I’ll go easy on you since it’s been so long,” he told her and Lily let out a bark of laughter.
“Please I think this is the one thing that I’m totally better than you top dog,” she told him with a grin.
“Sure you are, how about we let the track figure that one out, Lilliput,” Tony shot and Lily gave him a mock glare for the use of the nickname that she hated so much. Actually if truth be told, she had started to come to like it but she didn’t want to ruin the fun and tell Tony that. She followed her brother down into the park where the bikes were stored. Her feeling of pride grew as she eyed the place. It really was an amazing place. She loved Andrew, but Tony was making out to be a much better alpha than him.
“I totally won that race,” Lily argued, several hours later as they walked up their parent’s porch steps.
“No you didn’t, I easily finished first by nearly half of the bike,” Tony argued.
“That is a total lie!” Lily shot back as they walked into the house.
“Not totally, look I’m willing to be diplomatic here Lily. How about we call it a tie,” he offered and Lily scoffed. She was just about to tell him what he could do with his suggestion of a tie when Sandy walked out of the living room and nearly shrieked at the sight of them.
“Stop right there, don’t either of you dare take another step in this house,” she shouted with a horrified look.
“What?” Tony said with a shrug and Lily realized that both of them were covered in mud from their race. “It’s just a little mud Mom. It’s no big deal,” he added and Lily groaned at his mistake.
“A little mud,” Sandy scoffed. “No big deal?” She went on as her voice rose and she tapped her foot furiously.
“Oh so if it’s no big deal, Anthony Eric Roberts, then you won’t mind cleaning this hallway and everything else you dirty with your “little bit of mud” then?”
“Actually I’ve got some work to do,” Tony started and Lily shook her head as Sandy’s eyes burned and her nostrils flared, giving her the aspect of a royally pissed fire breathing dragon. Lily swore she almost saw smoke coming out of her nose. James came out of the living room, probably curious to know the reason why Sandy was nearly shouting.
“Actually you’ll be cleaning this floor and everything else you muck mister before you do anything else!” Sandy ordered.
“Mom I’m the alpha and me-” Tony started to demand, but Sandy grabbed him by the ear like she used to do when they were children.
“Don’t you dare pull that alpha card on me, young man! I am still your mother and when I say you’re going to clean my floors, you will do it! Is that understood,” Sandy told him as Tony was practically yelping like a newborn pup.
“That’s right Anthony, listen to your mom,” James jumped in probably knowing how much Tony hated his full name while trying to hide his laughter. Lily had to admit she was biting down her lip to keep from laughing too.
“Okay, okay geez Mom. Can I take a shower first?” Tony relented and Sandy gave him a curt look that clearly stated that she expected him too. Lily humor died when Sandy turned to her.
“Well, what do you have to say for yourself?” Sandy demanded with her hands on her hips.
“I have no problems cleaning anything I get mud on, I swear,” Lily told her eagerly but the blonde’s eyes narrowed and her mouth formed a thin line.
“And what exactly do you say about this whole running off so suddenly? Lily, you are a mom now, you can’t be doing these sort of things! Not to mention this whole mess with Silvano,” Sandy lectured her and Lily sighed quietly. Guess it was too quick to assume she’d get away without a lecture. She listened to the lecture with an occasional nod. Lily didn’t think she did anything that grave but Sandy was on a roll and it was better to just agree with penance than argue like Tony had mistakenly done.
“Alright Sandy,” Lily said once her mother was finished. “I promise I won’t run off like that again.” Sandy gave her a stern nod as acceptance of Lily’s apology then demanded she get cleaned up.
“Mommy dirty,” A. J. said wrinkling up his little nose that Lily couldn’t help but laugh from the cuteness of the expression.
