More Intimate
Amber and Matt are not really going together, but they have been seeing each other regularly. As regularly as is possible with his fire department schedule, her school schedule, and other obligations they each have. They did manage to meet about once a week in July, but it has been almost two weeks since their last date. She is fine with the slower pace of their dating. She likes him, but still is not sure if he is the one.
They are scheduled to go to Monterey next weekend. Matt has a half-day fire department seminar he wants to attend on Saturday morning. After that, they will have the rest of the time to themselves. Amber plans to make use of the free time on Saturday morning, shopping and doing a little sightseeing. She has never been to the Monterey area and is looking forward to it. She is also looking forward to the intimate time with Matt.
The sex with Matt has been spectacular. He is gentle and always makes sure she is enjoying their intimacy. He is the best lover she has ever had. They have only had intercourse a few times, but each time it gets better. They are going to drive to Monterey on Friday evening, spending both Friday and Saturday nights there. Amber bought a couple sexy outfits for the trip and has her vibrators ready to go. She is not sure if he is the right guy for the rest of her life, but he is definitely the right guy for this weekend.

They leave on Friday as early as Amber can get away. With the long drive, they will not get to Monterey until about 7:00 p. m. Early enough to be checked into the hotel, grab dinner somewhere, and fuck. Fucking is always part of Matt and Amber’s plans. The hotel, Matt has picked, is a small one-story place, sitting right on a bluff facing the ocean. It is in Pacific Grove, which is a small community south of the City of Monterey.
They get to the hotel in time to watch part of the sunset. It is a lovely setting. The rooms are almost apartments. They are set up as a pair of units together, in one building. Each individual cottage has a small kitchen, pots and pans, plus all the other stuff you would need to cook a meal. Matt and Amber’s plan is to eat dinner in town this first night; then tomorrow pick up something to barbeque. The hotel has a barbeque for each of the duplex type buildings.
From their hotel, they head to town. They drive the main streets to give Amber an idea of the layout of the city. While Matt is at class the next morning, Amber wants to do some shopping. They park in the center of town near the main pier. Monterey is similar to San Francisco with a wharf full of shops and restaurants.
They walk the pier reading menus, looking for a restaurant. While looking at one of the menus posted out front, a man comes out with a tray filled with wine glasses. He offers a glass of wine to whoever is looking at his menu. It is a smart gesture that helps business. Those who get a glass of wine are committed to looking at the menu, while finishing the wine. It worked for Matt and Amber. Sipping the wine and reading the entire menu, they opt to eat there.
From their table in the restaurant they can look out toward the bay. There is enough sunlight left to make out the boats and the ripple on the water. Monterey bay is more of an indentation in the California coastline, rather than a big inland bay like in San Francisco. The Monterey wharf is not as large as the one in San Fran.
Matt and Amber smile, laugh a lot, and enjoy each other’s company. Their seafood meal is yummy. The waiter told them the fish had been caught that afternoon, on one of their own boats. It cannot get any fresher than that.
Between the Monterey waterfront area and Pacific Grove is Cannery Row. At one time, these canneries were the heart of the fishing industry here. This is now an area of restaurants and shops, as well as the Monterey Aquarium. Cannery Row was the setting of a famous John Steinbeck book by the same name.
After dinner, they walk hand in hand, past the huge marina, to a beach on the other side. It is cool near the water, but the light jackets they brought are enough. They have not talked about anything major, making small talk as they walk. She told him about a house she and Kelly were working on, and he told her some of the fire fighter pranks that always happen in a fire station. It is everyday conversation, being enjoyed by two people who have become very comfortable with each other.
