Chapter 57

Vivianne swallowed before averting her gaze. She didn’t know how to respond, and she also didn’t understand why instead of getting angry at Beckett’s lascivious remarks, her body seemed to heat up even more.
“Just watch the movie!” Vivianne exclaimed before adjusting her posture and crossing her arms.
Beckett just laughed before resuming his earlier activity of watching the movie, while Vivianne opted to listen to music. The girl didn’t bother thinking about her suitcase anymore because, as Beckett had said, there was nothing they could do about it.
So now, she decided to just enjoy their vacation and not dwell on anything else for the moment.
Sixteen hours later, they finally arrived at Venice Marco Polo Airport. They were in Venice, Italy, and Vivianne couldn’t contain her joy as she looked around the whole place.
“Wow! It’s so beautiful here!” Vivianne exclaimed with a wide smile.
“We’re just at the airport, yet you’re so happy,” Beckett said, smiling and shaking his head.
Vivianne nodded in agreement, widening Beckett’s smile even more. It was the first time he had seen her this happy. It seemed to warm his heart too.
“If you’re having a good time here, then you’ll love it when we go to the different tourist attractions,” Beckett said.
“Really?” Vivianne asked, her eyes sparkling.
“Yeah. I have listed places where we will go later, and I know you will like it all.”
“Wow!”
Vivianne was once again amazed. She clapped in excitement as she looked around. She admired the airport’s interiors.
She glanced at Beckett and asked, “Did you know this is my first time visiting another country?”
“Hmm,” Beckett nodded. “Alfred monitors you 24/7 and uses your mother as leverage for you not to go anywhere. I’m not surprised that you can’t travel even though you have the money.”
Vivianne sighed and bowed her head. She felt sad remembering her mother back in their country, but she quickly smiled again. She knew her mother would be happy knowing she was having fun now.
“Are we going to the hotel first before sightseeing?” Vivianne asked, smiling from ear to ear.
“Why? Do you want to prioritize the honeymoon?” Beckett raised his eyebrows, and Vivianne’s smile immediately vanished upon hearing that.
“Hey! No-”
Vivianne didn’t finish her sentence because she suddenly stumbled. She almost lost her balance if Beckett hadn’t grabbed her waist.
“Careful,” Beckett reminded before gently letting go of Vivianne. “We’re going to the hotel first since we need to leave our things there. And who knows? You might have another lingerie in your suitcase-”
“Shut up!” Vivianne covered both ears before walking quickly away from Beckett, but not too far because she might get lost. After all, it’s her first time in Italy.
They were traveling alone today because Vivianne requested not to bring any of Beckett’s staff. She wanted to breathe, and she couldn’t do that if someone was always watching and guarding her.
However, she seemed even more awkward now that it was just the two of them.
“Baby,” Beckett called as he approached Vivianne again.
Vivianne raised an eyebrow before glaring at him. “What? Are you going to tease me again?”
“No,” he replied shortly before taking the suitcase from Vivianne’s right hand. Her shoulder bag remained on her shoulder.
“Thanks,” the girl smiled.
“Anyway, here,” Beckett said before giving Vivianne a card. “Buy everything you want.”
“Wow, is that a sugar daddy move?” Vivianne grinned before taking the card Beckett offered.
She thought it was just a regular debit card, but it turned out it wasn’t. So, Vivianne was surprised to see that Beckett gave her a black card.
One can’t just buy cheap stuff with a black card, and when Vivianne realized how expensive it was, she almost dropped it.
“Wait… I can’t accept this,” Vivianne said before putting the black card back into Beckett’s palm. “My wallet is in my bag, so I have money to pay for whatever I want to buy.”
“I know you can, but I will never let you spend your own money when you’re with me,” Beckett replied with a smile. “I promise that you will live like a queen in my arms, so don’t think about anything and use it as often as you want.”
“What if I use it all up?” the girl joked.
“Baby, black cards don’t have a spending limit,” Beckett grinned and tucked a strand of Vivianne’s hair behind her ear. “And can you spend my money as fast as I earn it?”
Vivianne didn’t answer that question, so she quietly put the black card into the pocket of her shoulder bag. “Fine. You’re persistent…”
“Good girl,” Beckett clicked his tongue and slightly pinched Vivianne’s cheek. “Maybe you can also buy another pair of lingerie once we go to the department store,” he added teasingly, winking.
“You’re crazy,” Vivianne just rolled her eyes before walking away again, but Beckett quickly caught up with her.
He didn’t tease her anymore, but Vivianne still felt his teasing gaze. She tried to calm herself down, while Beckett also restrained himself from teasing her too much, fearing that the girl’s patience might run out.
They got into Beckett’s rented car. Vivianne smiled widely as she looked around until they arrived at a five-star hotel.
“Wow. Tell me, am I dreaming?” Vivianne couldn’t believe it as she looked around the room where they would stay.
“No, you’re not,” Beckett replied in a cool voice before handing her the suitcase. “Pack your things so we can roam around after.”
Vivianne nodded but didn’t move immediately. She stared at the place.
Some decorations were made of gold, and the view from the balcony was beautiful. Her heart almost leaped with joy.
“If only I could live here, I really would…” Vivianne thought to herself, but of course, they still needed to return to their country. Her and Beckett.
“Vivianne Kaye,” Beckett called out her full name when he noticed that the girl was still not moving.
“Okay, okay. Here it is,” Vivianne rolled her eyes before pulling the suitcase towards the cabinet where Beckett was sitting, also sorting out his things.
They were quiet as they organized, but shortly after, Vivianne’s elbow bumped into Beckett’s arm, causing her to suddenly step back from the guy. She felt a bit embarrassed, especially since they were alone in the room now. And it was their honeymoon!
“You’re acting like I have a virus or something,” Beckett chuckled as he continued folding his clothes. “Why? Are you afraid that something might happen between us now?”
“I-I’m not,” Vivianne swallowed and looked away. “But is it true?”
“What?”
“That you won’t do anything to me now?”
Beckett clicked his tongue and gazed at his wife intently. “Why? Do you want me to do something?”
Vivianne paused for a moment at that question. She couldn’t answer immediately. She just stared at the floor, fiddling with her fingers. Vivianne was so used to hiding her own feelings that she didn’t know how to express them at times like this.
What did she really want? She didn’t know either.
“Chill. I’m just teasing you,” Beckett suddenly said, interrupting her thoughts. It made her stop worrying. He stood up and placed his clothes on the bed. “Continue what you are doing. I’ll just go out-”
Beckett couldn’t finish his sentence as Vivianne suddenly pulled him towards her and kissed him. He was momentarily stunned because he didn’t expect Vivianne to do that.
But when he fully came to his senses, he kissed Vivianne back. It was deeper and more passionate than the girl’s kiss, making Vivianne smile with joy in her heart.
Vivianne may not know what she wants, but her heart does, and it is Beckett-all of him.
