Chapter 47

Book:Saved By The Cold-hearted Billionaire Published:2024-6-3

“Ma’am Fiona…” Vivianne called out softly to her former colleague.
She didn’t know what to say afterward. Even though Fiona never explicitly said it, she knew Fiona had never liked her from the beginning. Maybe because she knew what Vivianne was capable of… that she would eventually hurt Beckett when the time came.
‘If she’s angry with me, there’s nothing I can do about it,’ Vivianne consoled herself. She knew she didn’t belong in the Syneverse from the start.
But she didn’t expect what happened next. Fiona quickly embraced her tightly. Vivianne’s eyes widened and she couldn’t move immediately. “M-Ma’am Fiona?”
“I don’t know what happened between you and Beckett, and I don’t want to ask either. I know he wants to go through things on his own…” Fiona said. There was sadness in her tone. “But do you know how chaotic Beckett’s life became when you left?”
Vivianne wasn’t even surprised to hear that. She could feel Beckett’s love. He was ready to give up everything for her, and that was something the young lady couldn’t allow. ‘It’s better if he struggles alone. I don’t need to involve others.’
“Sorry, Ma’am Fiona… I’m just not right for Beckett,” Vivianne’s voice almost broke when she said that, but she held herself back. “I know I hurt him, but don’t worry. I’m not here to discuss our past. I have a different purpose here,” she assured.
“No… That’s not what I meant,” Fiona shook her head. “I’m just glad to see you again, and believe it or not, I was worried when you suddenly left.”
That’s when Vivianne was surprised. She didn’t expect Fiona to say that. Her lips parted, and before Vivianne could speak, Fiona broke away from the hug.
It was clear Fiona wanted to talk more, but she was busy and had to attend Beckett’s meetings and photoshoots.
“Beckett is waiting for you at the office,” Fiona said, pointing to a large door nearby. “You were supposed to meet in the department with other employees, but he said you’d need privacy, so he chose there.”
“Okay-” Vivianne paused as something dawned on her. “Wait, office? Beckett has his own office here?” she couldn’t help but ask.
Fiona smiled. “Yes. Just a few weeks after he returned here, he became one of the major shareholders. It increased his net worth, and he had more control of the company now.”
Vivianne’s lips parted in surprise. She thought he was just focusing on the modeling industry, but not. Looking at the pictures, Beckett seemed unchanged except for becoming even more handsome, but he also became wiser.
After recovering from her surprise, Vivianne smiled and nodded. “Okay. Thank you.”
“I should be the one thanking you, Vivianne…” Fiona replied. “During the times when he felt weak, whether you were by his side or not, you were still his strength.”
Vivianne just nodded before walking towards the door Fiona had indicated earlier. She didn’t know what her reaction would be… Or why her heart was pounding so hard because of what she heard.
‘I shouldn’t be feeling like this anymore. I shouldn’t…’ Vivianne reminded herself. ‘He’s a rival now, Vivianne. A rival that I should get rid of before everything goes beyond my control. Remember that.’
As soon as she reached the office, Vivianne knocked three times, but no one answered.
“Isn’t he here?” Vivianne furrowed her brows. “He only approved our meeting now, and he’s not even here?” She scoffed.
She grabbed the doorknob and tried to turn it. Her right eyebrow raised when she saw that the door wasn’t locked. She entered the office without permission and didn’t regret it either.
There was nothing she could do if she regretted the things she had done.
“Wow,” was all that she could say upon seeing the office’s interiors.
The design was almost similar to her penthouse, which Vivianne loved. Simple yet elegant. At first glance, it was obvious that the owner was wealthy.
Vivianne whispered to herself in awe, “How much did Beckett spend on this?”
“Almost five hundred thousand, I guess. But it looks good, right?” Someone spoke behind her, and it was Beckett. “But what I liked more is when you say my name. Can you say it again?”
Vivianne could only sigh as the man remained unchanged. She crossed her arms over her chest before turning to face him, but she immediately regretted it.
Beckett looks at her like a predator ready to devour her prey. His eyes burn with intensity. Anger and longing are evident, but love prevails.
Her ex still loves her, and Vivianne doesn’t know whether to be happy about it or not. It just made her feel so much pain-The pain she buried at the back of her head before.
“Don’t look at me like that. I might not hold myself back this time,” Beckett said before licking his lower lip while staring at Vivianne’s neck.
That was enough to snap Vivianne back to reality. “Stop saying nonsense. I came here for business.”
“But you are my business,” Beckett said before clenching his fists.
“How so? We’re not together anymore,” Vivianne replied in a cold tone. It was harsh, but it was the truth. “Anyway, what a nice place you have here. You’ve made it big. If we hadn’t broken up back then, you wouldn’t have achieved all of this-”
Vivianne stopped speaking when she noticed the way Beckett was looking at her. He seemed surprised.
‘Oh, boy. What a stupid topic to open up,’ Vivianne thought to herself. But she couldn’t help but marvel at Beckett’s achievements. He looked happy, while she was miserable doing things she didn’t even like in the first place.
Vivianne thought Beckett would tease her about it, but he just smirked before going to the table. He sat at the end of it, staring at the wall.
The truth is, Beckett didn’t like what Vivianne said. It reopened old wounds in his heart. He had long forgotten about them, but just one look at Vivianne brought it all back.
Vivianne is still his salvation and destruction at the same time.
“You asked me to meet up with you sooner than I expected…” Beckett said, looking at Vivianne intently. “I love how you told my managers that it was you requesting this meeting. Why? Did you think I would accept your request just because it was you?”
Beckett’s voice was cold and intimidating as hell. Vivianne took a deep breath upon hearing her ex-boyfriend’s words as if something had pierced her heart. Yes, they were no longer together. She was the one who broke up with him. What was she holding on to?
“I told you to run away from me,” Vivianne said in a cold tone.
“I did, but look at who’s in front of me now.” Beckett looked at her from head to toe. “It was you who came to me.”
