Chapter 43

Book:Saved By The Cold-hearted Billionaire Published:2024-6-3

“BECKETT CLAINFER’S popularity reached a new peak again, winning another award from America for his breathtaking photoshoot in California!”
“Due to recent events, Beckett only further proved why he is one of the best and most famous models in the country! He truly lived up to the title ‘Nation’s Perfect Guy!'”
Before the reporter could speak again, Vivianne turned off the TV. She was working on documents in her office when she felt a sense of unease, so she decided to open the TV for a distraction. However, she didn’t expect that the news would still be all about Beckett.
“It has been a while since he returned to the showbiz industry. Don’t they have other news?” Vivianne muttered in frustration before sighing. “This is making it even harder for me to concentrate.”
She sighed while looking at the documents she was handling. They were all transactions she needed to deal with regarding the Allamino Mafia. She never wanted this, but if she wanted to protect her loved ones, she had to do what was necessary, especially dealing with the things she despised.
She became the person she never wanted to be-the heir of the Allamino Mafia.
Vivianne didn’t notice that she had already turned on the TV again. On the screen, Beckett was shown walking on the red carpet. He won an award, so there were various interviews with him.
“What is your inspiration for working like this? You are young and experienced burnout for the last few months. But upon your return, your schedule is full again, and it seems like your fans don’t see you taking a break. Is there a reason for all of this?” asked a reporter.
Beckett’s earlier smile was replaced by seriousness.
“My hardships and my goals. Those were the reasons why I’m working so hard. Before, I needed to let go of everything because I was too weak, and I couldn’t protect them all…” Beckett looked into the camera, his eyes seemingly ablaze. “But I won’t let it happen again. Not for the second time.”
Vivianne gasped upon hearing those words. Even though she wasn’t facing Beckett right now, she knew those words were meant for her. She took everything he ever had, including herself. She knew that Beckett would never forgive her for what he did to her.
And that wasn’t what Vivianne wanted either. She wanted him to run away, just like what she had told him when they met for the last time.
“Just wait. I will save you from here. I promise.”
But Vivianne remembered the man’s last words. She felt torn. She wanted to avoid Beckett because it wouldn’t be good for him if their paths crossed again but despite that…
“I miss him,” Vivianne whispered before resting her face on her palm. She felt hopeless and weak-something she had tried suppressing for a long time. “But his situation is stable now, and that’s okay for me. I shouldn’t disturb him anymore. I shouldn’t desire to be with him again. I should stop being a selfish bitch.”
Vivianne sighed. Her heart and mind were saying different things, but she chose to dismiss them. She picked up her phone and called Joan, one of her current employees.
“Remove the cable from my TV. Just leave the WIFI,” she ordered Joan. Joan served as her right-hand woman. “And I want you to block Beckett Clainfer’s name from my newsletters.”
“Beckett Clainfer?” Joan raised an eyebrow, but shortly after, she regained her composure. “As you wish, Ms. Vivianne.”
Vivianne ended the call afterward. She continued organizing the documents, and when everything was in order, she finally changed into her clothes. She had a client to meet for a new request involving paid women.
This client had been with Alfred for a long time, so Vivianne made sure everything would go smoothly.
Vivianne left the office, but she furrowed her brow upon seeing chaos outside, especially Joan, who was shouting at some of their other staff.
“Relax. You’ll find it harder to focus if you let emotions take over,” Vivianne said as she approached Joan. “What’s happening here?”
“Ma’am, we have a problem!” Joan exclaimed before massaging her forehead. “The client you’re supposed to meet later, just said he won’t be getting women from our company anymore. He terminated the contract with us just a while ago.”
“What?” Vivianne’s eyes widened at the news. “That’s impossible. He’s one of our top clients, and he’s been a long-time client of Alfred. He wouldn’t just leave like that.” She placed her hand on her forehead and lightly massaged it. “Did he give a reason? Was there something he didn’t like?”
“He said he found a better offer,” Joan replied.
“Someone is having a better offer than us? He’s been our supplier for a long time. Why would he look for another supplier now?” Vivianne felt a headache coming on. She knew that if this news reached Alfred, she would be in deep trouble. “Do you know which company he moved to?”
“We’ve been looking for it, but we can’t find anything, Ma’am.” Joan bowed her head because she couldn’t meet Vivianne’s gaze. “If he doesn’t want us anymore…”
“No. Don’t pay attention to that jerk. Instead, try to win the client back,” Vivianne ordered. “You have my permission to give extravagant offers to lure him back. We can’t afford to lose to anyone who tries to steal him.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“I want you to close the deal before the sun sets,” Vivianne added to her instructions, and Joan nodded. “Now, go.”
Joan quickly walked away, while Vivianne sat on the couch, massaging her temples.
“Shit. Why does everything have to go wrong now? If I find out who took our client, I’ll skin them alive,” Vivianne thought angrily.
While in the midst of contemplation, someone called Vivianne. It was Jill, another loyal member of her team. “Ma’am Vivianne!”
“Why are you here, Jill?” Vivianne asked with a furrowed brow. “Aren’t you supposed to be at another warehouse?”
“Ma’am Joan sent me here to help. I heard about what happened to the client,” Jill replied.
“Tsk.” Vivianne sighed. “Sometimes, she acts as if she’s higher than me. What right does she have to summon you when I specifically sent you to watch over another warehouse?” Her blood boiled even more.
The truth is, Vivianne preferred Jill over Joan. Jill had more talents, such as hacking, excellent leadership, and the ability to communicate with people using her innocent face. However, Joan was more loyal to Alfred, so her father favored her.
“It’s okay, Ma’am. I also want to help you.” Jill sat down beside Vivianne. “I thought it would be easy for me to track which company the client moved to, but I had difficulty. So, I changed my technique.”
Jill showed the tablet she was holding, displaying numerous CCTV footage.
“Instead of searching for the company, I decided to look into the places the client visited a few days before terminating the contract with the company. I identified all except for this one,” Jill explained before playing a CCTV video.
They were in a coffee shop in a rural area. There, their client was engaged in a conversation with a man with his back to the camera, smiling. Vivianne found the man’s back familiar, but she couldn’t figure out who he was. However, when the man turned and looked at the camera, she cursed.
“Do you know him, Ma’am?” Jill asked.
Vivianne didn’t answer. Instead, she handed the tablet back to Jill and called Joan.
“I want you to set me an appointment with Beckett Clainfer, now.”
