Chapter 25

Book:Saved By The Cold-hearted Billionaire Published:2024-6-3

“What do you mean by that?” Beckett asked, looking at Vivianne, but the woman didn’t respond.
Vivianne simply smiled while gently caressing Beckett’s cheek. There was a hint of sadness in her smile and in the expression of her eyes that were fixated on the man’s lips.
“I’m just telling you the same…” Vivianne whispered softly before lifting her gaze again. “Just as you found out I was keeping something from you, I also found out you were keeping something from me. So, we’ll wait for each other.”
Beckett’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing Vivianne’s response. It was as if a rush of blood escaped his entire body. He didn’t know why, but he felt like Vivianne had learned something… whatever that might be.
“But what if neither of us intends to open up to each other?” Vivianne added a question. Her tone was gentle yet held a sense of intimidation, and Beckett understood that she was implying something.
“It would be bad, then…” Beckett replied in a dark, menacing tone.
However, Beckett wasn’t entirely sure about himself either. Could he give up his personal vendetta for the sake of his love for Vivianne? Part of him said yes, but another part scolded him, telling him that he hadn’t come this far just to give up in the end.
Vivianne felt the same way. Could she truly overcome the darkness of her father for the sake of love? Certainly not easily.
“Well, let’s see,” Vivianne said, averting her gaze first, as she felt a sense of fear. Despite the love they felt for each other, a fear played in their hearts. Many questions were running through their minds.
As they had other responsibilities to attend to, it was now up to them to figure out how to make their relationship work.
After their conversation, they refocused their attention on the movie. Beckett’s arm was draped over the couch, and Vivianne leaned against his chest.
Both of them had suspicions about each other… but no one dared to speak. Somehow, they were afraid that speaking about it might shatter the fragile relationship they had just begun.
They were still in the ‘getting to know each other’ stage, and it was too early for them to reveal their secrets.
The movie came to an end, yet neither of them spoke. An awkward silence hung between them, a silence that acknowledged an unresolved issue that could potentially strain their relationship in the future.
However, Beckett was the first to give in. As Vivianne was about to head to the kitchen for a drink, Beckett suddenly grabbed her waist and hugged her tightly.
“I’m sorry…” Beckett whispered in Vivianne’s ear before resting his chin on her shoulder. “I didn’t mean to pressure you.”
Beckett showered Vivianne’s neck with gentle kisses, causing her to chuckle. Her heart rate quickened once again, and just like before, any doubts she had about Beckett seemed to vanish.
“Sorry too.” Vivianne turned to face Beckett and hugged him back. She looked up at him and spoke again, “Let’s not overthink things and just focus on the present.”
“Right.” Beckett nodded and leaned in, kissing Vivianne passionately.
“Hmmm…” Vivianne let out a soft moan as Beckett’s lips explored every corner of hers. Beckett’s kisses were not just passionate-they were intense and filled with desire.
As Beckett guided her to the couch and his hands explored her body, particularly her sensitive areas, Vivianne knew where this kiss was leading.
And she knew she couldn’t resist it any longer.
“I thought you were going to let me rest…” Vivianne said playfully while lightly tugging at Beckett’s hands. His lips were now at her neck, softly kissing and nibbling her skin.
“Well, after this,” Beckett replied, his grip on her waist tightening as his hand moved down to squeeze her breast, a hint of restrained excitement in his touch. “Why do you love seducing me?”
“Huh? I’m not doing anything?” Vivianne responded with a laugh, but her laughter turned into a moan as Beckett’s hand gently kneaded her breast. Her eyes fluttered closed as she tried to fully embrace the pleasure Beckett was giving her.
Both of them were clouded by lust when suddenly, Beckett’s phone rang. Beckett ignored it, knowing it was probably Fiona trying to get him back to the studio.
Vivianne had no intention of paying attention to it either, as she was lost in the moment with her man, and she didn’t want to be interrupted.
However, as the call continued for a long time, Vivianne realized they needed to stop. She gathered her sanity and pushed Beckett away from her. “That seems urgent.”
“It’s just Fiona.”
Beckett was about to kiss Vivianne again, but she quickly dodged his attempt.
“If it’s Fiona, you should answer her call. It might be an emergency,” Vivianne said, squeezing Beckett’s cheek. “If it’s not an emergency, then we can continue what we were doing. Okay?”
Beckett nodded with a sigh. He walked over to the phone on the table and answered it without even checking the caller ID.
“Hello?” Beckett greeted coldly. He was still in a bad mood.
“Boss.”
Beckett’s eyes widened upon hearing the voice on the other end of the line. He glanced at his phone, and his suspicions were confirmed. It was Nathan.
Beckett cleared his throat and slightly turned away, keeping his expression hidden from Vivianne. “What is it?”
“Boss, you have a meeting now. Are you on your way?” Nathan asked, his voice hesitant. “The client has been at the location for a while. He’s early, so I thought I’d give you a call.”
Beckett furrowed his brow. He had a lot of questions, but Vivianne was nearby, so he decided to ask Nathan later. “What time?”
“Three o’clock, boss,” Nathan replied.
Beckett glanced at his watch and silently cursed as he saw that it was already 2:30 p. m. He was still in the Syneverse, and his warehouse was quite a distance away.
“Okay. I’m on my way,” Beckett said in an authoritative tone. He put the phone back in his pocket and looked at Vivianne. “It’s an emergency.”
“Well, there you go. I told you so,” Vivianne said with a hint of teasing.
But deep down, she was also a bit disappointed because her hunch had been correct. Now their plans from earlier wouldn’t push through.
“Tch. Next time, my lady.” Beckett kissed Vivianne on the cheek. “Stay here. I’ll go back in the evening-”
“No. I’ll be leaving too,” Vivianne replied, glancing at her phone. “I have things to take care of as well.”
“Then come with me. I’ll take you home.”
“No need.” Vivianne shook her head. “You have an emergency. Plus, it might complicate things if others see us together.”
Just like Beckett, she began gathering her belongings. She was still in her comfortable attire, so there was no need to change. Beckett had bought her some clothes, so she had things to wear.
After finishing her tasks, Vivianne looked at Beckett and paused when she saw him staring at her. She could see the pain and confusion in his eyes, and she understood why.
It was because Vivianne was contemplating what other people would say about them, something that Beckett didn’t care much about.
“You know me, and I’ve been trying to maintain a low-key life the whole time,” explained Vivianne as she held Beckett’s gaze. “I don’t want that to change now, and this is also for your career.”
Beckett remained silent. He felt hurt, yet he respected Vivianne’s request. Vivianne was right, their public image could affect his career negatively if they were seen together.
His career couldn’t afford any setbacks at this point.
“Alright,” Beckett replied briefly.
Beckett left the penthouse first before Vivianne followed suit. He also had his connections in the IT department erase any CCTV footage that showed him and Vivianne entering or leaving the penthouse, ensuring that there wouldn’t be any issues.
Using his other sports car, Beckett drove toward the warehouse. He also made sure that no one was following him, as that would complicate things. He was driving quite fast because it was his fault that he was almost going to be late.
He was informed about the meeting. The problem was, he forgot about it.
It was almost forty-five minutes when Beckett reached the warehouse. He moved swiftly. Thankfully, Nathan was already waiting there, and his clothes, face mask, and voice changer were ready. He didn’t show his face, especially when dealing with potential clients.
“Let’s go,” Beckett said as he adjusted his tie.
“Yes, Boss.”
Nathan nodded and prepared the vehicle. The meeting place wasn’t actually at the warehouse; it was in a location nearby.
Before long, they arrived at the designated place. It was an empty coffee shop in a rural area, where Beckett was a shareholder. This was where he often met his clients to avoid any complications.
Beckett walked into the coffee shop with a face mask, giving him an appearance like he was a robber. However, the employees recognized him when they saw his familiar car outside. Today, he was known as MOB.
Beckett spotted a man with his back turned, so he approached him. “I’m quite late, but we should start the negotiation now to prevent wasting more time.”
“Nice to meet you, MOB.” The man turned around and smiled, and Beckett’s eyes widened as he saw who was standing in front of him.
