Chapter 49

Book:The Villainess Went Back Time Published:2024-5-1

“You let the younger handle the situation and you were the one saved. Be ashamed Maxlein.” Maximo said with his grave low voice. Maxlein can feel it. He could already feel he was going to the cemetery before dawn.
Maxlein felt something stirred on his chest towards Maxine that would soon be a complict.
Maxine pities her Brother Lein and wanted to get off of Maximillian but Millian was stern and would not let her get off from his lap whatever she did.
It was like she was stuck in an unmoving statue. Her brother was strong, or only was she weak?
She looked up behind her where her brother was, pouted and furrowed her eyebrows.
In Maximillian’s eyes, flowers seemed to fall on his sister.
‘Hmm. Cute.’ was what he think of her with those knitted brows while trying to supress his flush.
“Brother, I want to go in the rest room.” Maxine said in a cute voice. Millian started acting up and blushed instantly.
Her face was indedd cute and so her voice,
Maximillian did not know what to do.
What should he do? He did not wanna to let his sister go but Maxine might get angry towards him.
Maximillian cleared his throat.
“Do you want me to go with you?” Maximillian asked hopefully but his shoulders fell when he heard Maxillary’s name came out from his sister’s mouth.
He could not do anything when his sister smiled at him. He felt like his sister was too bright and he was burning of warmth.
At last, Maxine got off from half-dead and frozen Millian.
Maxillary and Maxwell immediately looked at them and were confused on Maximillian’s current odd state because he looked like in the verge of dying from hallucination.
“Brother Maxillary, can you come with me in the rest room?” Maxine asked with a twinkling eyes. Maxillary immediately felt heaven and Maxwell threw his brother a sulking stare.
“This is unfair! I wanna go to!” Maxwell said eagerly. Maxine have thought of it.
Nothing would lose if he was also to brought Maxwell, right?
She looked to her other two brothers, one who looked like dying and one perpetrator. Like a cat and a mouse.
They were busy being frightened and frightening so the three of them sneaked out of the room while their Brother Millian looked like definitely would have nosebleed any moment from now.
Maxwell and Maxillary immediately held their younger sister’s hands. Maxine only smiled at them before walking.
It was almost time for the banquet to start.
Before they got out of the corridor, they were surprised when someone bumped at Maxwell that made him stumbled.
“Are you ok Brother Maxwell?” Maxine asked worriedly as he touched his brother’s forehead.
Maxwell, instead of what he usually did, shouting at the person he bumped at, he grinned happily because Maxine was too close to him and he could see clearly her cute fluffy cheeks that made Maxillary pouted and pulled his sister away from him.
“He is okay!” Maxillary purred. The two of them completely forgotten the person Maxwell bumped with.
“I’m not!” Maxwell replied back, growling. They were now facing each other as if they wanted to scratch each other’s face.
“Now, now, brothers, calm down.” Maxine smiled awkwardly and tried to stop them, completely aware of the other’s presence but the two started to throw words at each other.
“Hey! The ugly girl here told you to stop!” said the strange kid present at the moment.
Maxillary and Maxwell suddenly stopped and looked at the little stranger in unison.
Maxine reached her chest and sighed. She was relieved that they stopped fighting but she was not so sure if it really was the end knowing that the son of his father’s co-Duke, Grenchant was there.
“Who did you called ugly?” Maxwell asked raising his left brow while Maxillary in the other hand was scrutinizing the boy from head to toe.
“Her.” the Young Lord answered nonchalantly, pointing his finger to Maxine who was standing between his two brothers.
The two quickly reacted and glared at Grenchant who seem to be loss for word when he clearly saw Maxine with her overloading beauty and cuteness.
Maxine tilted her head. She did not want anyone pointing fingers at her but she would let Grenchant pass this time since Grenchant was what she could call her closest friend from the past.
She should warn Grenchant once they get closer again.
But really? She had been pointed a finger few times this day.
Maxillary and Maxwell snarled at Grenchant that made him back to his senses from staring at Maxine for too long.
“Ugly, ugly but you are obviously staring at her!” Maxillary snorted that made Grenchant unexpectedly blushed. The two was surprised.
Maxillary was just teasing the rude kid! He did not expect that he was right!
“What the-!” the two of them wanted to curse but when they realized that Maxine was present, they did not continuit at all. If they just know that their Brother Maxlein had already cursed infront of Maxine a few time… Surely, they would have hit him.
“Seriously?!” Maxwell asked, could not believe on the latter’s reaction. Actually, it was believable at all that everyone who would see their sister would be mesmerized.
“I-I am not!” Grenchant stuttered that only prove the two’s speculation. They immediately blocked Grenchant from seeing Maxineirah and Maxineirah could only slap her forehead in frustration.
Maxine was wondering what was happening to the three of them. It was like they were talking on their own language. She really could not understand the likes of them. Hah.
At the end, they went to the rest room with Grenchant. The boys stayed outside to guard while Maxineirah went inside alone. Maxineirah struggled to pee and wash her hands, she wished Kath was here but unfortunately, Kath and the other servant’s carrigae broke down while on the way to the Viscount’s Manor and now, she have to do everything on her own regaeding to her gender’s stuff.
After she washed her hands, a girl on her age entered the room. Her eyes followed the familliar girl from the mirror infront of her.
The girl looks familiar but she could not remember who was she.
Just after the girl went inside one of the cubicles, she heard Maxillary’s bored tone calling for her.
She could also hear Maxwell and Grent arguing outside. Maxineirah immediately grabbed a towel and dried her small hands before disposing it in the used section.
As they entered the hall once again, the speaker started to talk and introduce the celebrant. This is it. She could finally see him again. She felt excited yet nervous while waiting for the grand doors to open. He should be following his brothers like a tail just like in the past.
“Your hands are cold and you look pale, are you okay?” Maxillary asked her. She forced to smile so he would not worry about her.
“I’m fine, brother.” Maxine reassured.
“-Ystradgynlais!” the speaker muttered and the second to the youngest -the celebrant first entered the banquet hall along with his other three older brothers and at the back was-
No one. He was not there.
‘Huh? Where is he?’ the excitement Maxine was feeling became a confusion when she did not see the fifth brother. She even scanned the whole place and repeatedly looked behind the Ystradgynlais brothers but the person she was expecting to see was nowhere to be found.
Was there an error to what she remembers? But how much she think about it, she was sure that the fifth son should be behind them!
What was happening? This should not turn out like this!
Maxwell, Maxillary and Grenchant noticed her uneasiness for she kept looking around. She even unhanded her two brother’s hands unconciously.
Maxineirah tried to tip-toe for hoping to see him.
‘No. It was not like this. Ugh. This is useless.’ she was starting to feel annoyed. Annoyed to herself.
She decided to run off without her brothers and Grenchant.
Maxineirah even heard her brothers calling for her but she did pay no mind to them.
Whatever happens, she have to find the youngest Ystradgynlais even if what happened to the past would not happen in this time.
It was fine but she really have to see him.
She heard something broke from somewher that made her paused for a moment and glanced around. That must be it.
The host’s table! Why did she not thought about it?! Whatever happens, he must be beside his family. How could she lost it.
She should not have gone anywhere.
She went on the Viscount’s table where the brothers should be sitting.
She was panting when she got there but her eyes widened when she saw what was happening. The people were starting to gather to see what was happening.
Maxineirah caught three of the Young Masters on the floor, behind them was the birthday celebrant and infront of them… was the person she was looking for.
There were few broken shards of broken plates on the floor between the three boys and their youngest brother, the young man that Maxine was desperately searching for.
The three older brothers were trembling in fear because of the youngest who looked so different from his past self.
Maxineirah could saw the malice vividly painted in his handsome face and despite his blank face, his eyes full of hatred. He was holding a plate in hand so Maxine came to a conclusion that he must be the one who broke the plates… but why? How in the world…
Unless…
“What…” she whispered to herself.
