“Anna I don’t know what to do!” Katy cries out.
I turn my face to look at her. “Katy, call the doctor now.” I croak.
She quickly gets up and pulls out her phone. “Yes, I need the pack doctor at the pack house now!” She yells into the device and swiftly hangs up. “Anna, what do you need?” She asks I can tell her heart is racing.
“I n-need Tyler.”
I let out another cry as the pain doesn’t seem to end. Why me, why now? I can tell Katy is mind linking Tyler by the emotion on her face. “Don’t worry he’s coming.” She coos in my ear while stroking my back.
The door bursts open again moments later, and a woman is rushing into the house.
“Okay, what happened.” She asks Katy seriously.
“I don’t know.” Katy whimpers.
The doctor turns to me as if transferring the question. “I don’t know! It j-just hurts s-so bad!” I cry.
“I need you to show me where.” She asks calmly.
I gently roll over and hold in my screams from the sudden movement that seems to cause more pain. I immediately place my hand on the throbbing area and take deep breaths.
“Is there any chance you are pregnant?” The doctor asks as she pulls out a notepad and a container of pills.
I shake my head no.
“Really?” Katy whispers in my ear.
“Katy!” I growl.
“Okay I’m going to give you so heavy duty pain killers, and we’ll have to see what happens.” The doctor hands Katy two small salmon colored pills. Katy lifts my head up on her knees and pops them in my mouth, then holds up a water bottle to my lips that the doctor gave her. I drink the cold liquid, and the pills drain down my throat.
“Where’s her mate?” The doctor asks.
“Right here!” Tyler bursts into the room and takes Katy’s place.
The doctor seems taken back that my mate is her Alpha. “Alpha Tyler.”
“What happened?” He asks the doctor but looks into my eyes. His hand strokes my hair as my head rests on his knees.
“Katy found her at the bottom of the staircase, and we don’t seem to know what happened, but she is experiencing sharp pain in, I’m guessing her ovaries. I gave her pain killers, and we have to wait and see if the pain subsides so we can find the cause of the pain.” The doctor explains to Tyler. “We should move her to the couch.” The doctor suggests.
I frantically shake my head remembering the pain of when Katy tried to move me.
“Anna it’s okay, I’ll make it quick.” Tyler’s voice laced with pain, worry, fear.
His arms slide under my body, and he lifts me up from the cold floor. I hold in the pain as he moves me to the couch, I don’t want to worry him more. When I’m placed on the plush white cushions, the pain decreases.
“I think the painkillers are starting to kick in.” The doctor informs us.
I glance beside me; Tyler is holding my arm looking like he’s about to breakdown.
“I’m okay,” I mumble to him.
My eyelids grew heavy, and darkness overcame me.
My eyes shot open, the light burned them but that wasn’t my top priority now. As my eyes adjusted to the brightness I figured out I was in my room lying on the bed. I didn’t feel any more pain in my pelvis. What happened? I stretched out my aching limbs and slipped out of the warm duvet. I tiredly walked to the door and peeked into the hallway, it was empty.
I guess everyone is downstairs. I slowly make my way down the steps, remembering the events of last night, was it even at night? I can’t remember. All I do remember is blacking out, or did I fall asleep? I need some answers before I think I went insane.
I could hear talking coming from the kitchen and my mood immediately lifted up. I entered the kitchen and everyone turned to me. Everyone being; Tyler, Katy, Jackson, Michael, Nicole, and Nicole’s small but noticeable baby bump.
When Tyler saw me his face lit up and he rushed to me. His arms wrapped around my body and I was welcomed into his embrace. He’s hugging me in front of people! How long was I out?
“You scared me, Anna.” He whispered in my ear sending chills down my spine.
“What happened?” I ask, my voice sounding sore.
“You blacked out for two days straight.” Katy pipes up.
I pulled away from Tyler’s arms and looked at him straight in the eyes. “Why?!”
“When you blacked out it gave the doctor a chance to run some tests and take ex-rays. The pain was coming from your ovaries, your body is starting to produce different egg cells, the ones of a… Lycan.” Tyler explains.
“Then why does it hurt so much?”
“Right now this is very unnatural for your body, but the doctor said over time the pain will drastically decrease.”
Well, I guess Jackson, Michael, and Nicole know about my so-called gift now.
