HIS CAR STOPPED in front of the big hotel, he immediately got off to hand the man in uniform his key before quickly heading to my door.
He opened the door for me, so I quickly unbuckled the seatbelt to get off.
“What are we doing here?” I looked up at him with a look. He fixed me with his steely dark gaze, my lips immediately closed and I looked down, I don’t know why I’m nervous when he is in front of me.
“Follow me,” he ordered again, then we walked ahead to the hotel entrance. I could do nothing but follow him inward.
A security guard greeted me but I didn’t seem to hear it because of the deafening beating of my heart.
With two heads bowed I followed him as I walked, I couldn’t help but tremble my knees in shame. How almost everyone we meet greets him.
I’ve seen the way girls react whenever he’s looking at them. I will not be surprised by the warm treatment of the staff and crew and some guests of the hotel to him.
My feet faltered when he stopped some distance away from me. I immediately looked up at him as he held out his hand.
I quickly glanced at some staff who were whispering and openly glared at me from head to toe. I couldn’t suppress the fainthearted smile from spreading to my face. It seemed like the weight of my steps as I approached Rexon.
He patiently waiting for me as I took careful steps towards him but the moment his hand comes down on my back, that blast of adrenaline I desperately need burns through me. I bent down as his warm breath touched my cheek.
“Let’s go, ” he mumbled, he held my hand tight, but not to tight.
I got lost in the moment, like I always do. His palm was warm and soft, I could smell his manly scent so I couldn’t help but close up.
He guided me to a private room. My cats eye widely open in surprised. I wandered around the room, if I’m not mistaken we were in the ballroom.
I noticed the big stage in the corner but that remained the big red curtain that hung there and the last one was the round table that was right in the middle of the hall.
“Why are we here?” I asked barely more than a whispered, even though I already knew the answer because of the table arrangement and candlelight that were there.
“I prepared a dinner date for my girlfriend,” he said casually.
I blinked, searching his face for deceit. I took a moment to realize that this had actually been surreal.
Girlfriend? My heart beating like it was going to explode from my chest. I had to repeat in my brain what he said before that registered. Even though we haven’t talked about it yet, it seems like my feet are floating in the cloud.
I looked down at the bouquet of flowers he presented to me. I don’t know where it came from, how it was in his hands.
“For you…” He handed me the bouquet of red roses which I immediately took.
My mouth popped open in astonishment. I couldn’t speak, this is actually the first time I ever recieve something from him and it really made me feel emotional and brought a blush to both my cheeks.
“Thank you, that wouldn’t have bothered you,” I said, fluttering my eyelashes.
He didn’t respond with words. But his hand gently gripped my arms and heading me towards the table.
He pulled me out of the chair, I also immediately sat down still not into myself as he spoke to the waiter who approached us.
My attention dropped to the table. The food is already served, obviously still hot, even the Ice bucket with champagne is already there.
I looked up at him and he stare at me.
“What else do you want? Did you not like the food?”
“Uh, no! I mean… Nothing!” My hand landed quickly on the cutlery.
The waiter bowed and left after hearing what I said.
“It looks delicious!” I giggle said, trying to lessen the tension between us, but he seems like I’m the only one feeling it now. So I smile effectively so as not to look nervous.
He did not respond. He picked up his cutlery and started eating.
Silence smoothly lingered for a long moment. I don’t know where I’m going to be stunned, in the silence or when I put the poor cutlery on the plate.
The food was delicious, but I couldn’t taste it because I swallowed it straight away.
I looked up at him as he lowered the cutlery he was holding. He manly wiped his lips using a cotton towel and gripped the flute glass.
No wonder I stopped what I was doing and watched him how to sip the wine in the glass. He sexily gulped the last drop of champagne on the glass and put it down gracefully.
At the same time there was a few swallows I administered to my throat. It was as if I were intoxicated by what he had done. He is very manly, and hotter than last time. Even just wearing a simple white shirt and jacket cannot hide the strength of the appeal.
I blinked when his gaze hit me. My lovely cheeks turned rosy tint.
“How’s the food?” he asked
“Uh, great…” I replied quickly, I barely pinned the hair on my cheek to my ear.
He nod, then pour me a drink. I just watched him quietly before he handed it to me.
“I offer you a toss for the success of your modeling career,” he said calmly. I couldn’t see the lively smile on his lips because of his sharp stare at me.
I don’t know what to say. I didn’t immediately touch my own glass because of nervousness.
He raised his brows and slightly tilted his head. “Congratulations!” he mumbled.
His eyes remained dark. The jaw tightened even more as he waited for my action.
Finally I have the power to gripped the champagne glass that he offered me. I raised it to pick up our glasses.
“Thanks…” I sought fully said.
I struggle to read his reaction, but his mysterious eye keeps on hiding something dark and shrouded.
I chose to look down and just continue eating but my gaze quickly returned to him when he spoke.
“Why did you leave without saying goodbye after that night?” he asked seriously and gave me a lopsided grin.
Immediately my two thighs came together. It seemed to flashback everything that happene at the Barcelona. All of that is still clear in my mind, even small details are still a sign I still remember.
My mahogany hair fluttered in my eyes and I swiped my hand to move it out on my face. I could feel the trembling of my lips even before I spoke.
“Give me a valid reason why you need to leave?” he asked again.
His lips curled around to the rim of the glass in a sexy way. I quickly averted my eyes from it because of what he did.
“I have a lot of work to do so I haven’t been able to say goodbye to you.” I explained truthfully, head down for a moment.
He smirked, I could feel the frustration with the reaction. I looked up at him to find he’s giving me a disbelieving look.
“Is it about Nicholas?” he asked as he furrowed his eyes brows, still in a disbelieved state.
My lips pursed, not knowing what to answer. He couldn’t even paint his face while staring at me.
Based on the work, Nicholas did have a role here, he was one of the reasons I wanted to leave that night.
He chuckled, “That bastard,”
“He’s my boss–”
“Damn it!” he cut me off. My eyes widened in amazement. His perfect jaw I have seen several times tighten.
“I don’t trust him,” he said slowly, reason for me to hear that clearly.
I felt myself blushing, my breath seemed to catch suddenly when this look made me react.
“He’s a good man, I’m very grateful to him.” I explained.
He laugh, a cruel cold laughter and quickly brought under control. His serious face came back to me again.
“That bastard is madly in love with you, that’s why he prioritizes your modeling career more than his other business?”
“Wait, are you interrogating me?” I asked bluntly,
“No,” he prompt reply.
I sighed a bit, before staring into his eyes. “We’re just friends, whatever he feels for me I’m out of there.”
His eye lifted on me and gave me an understanding look.
Silence fell on the room. He did not speak again and resumed eating. I want to open my lips but I couldn’t. How many times have I heard him call me I am his girlfriend even though the relationship we have is still unclear.
Until I went to bed I still couldn’t believe Rexon and I were dating. Even though it is not clear between us. All I can say that I am content with what we have. Whatever happens tomorrow or in the next few days, I’m really looking forward to it.
