Chapter 93: Not meant for each other

FINALLY we had a chance to get more pictures on the famous mosaic terrace. Almost everything is pictured perfect, I have no qualms about the beauty of Barcelona.
The last one we went to was Las Ramblas. One of Barcelona’s most famous walking streets. There’s always something to photograph here so, Farrah and I didn’t miss to take a picture of the statue of Christopher Columbus itself. Here we also chose to eat breakfast along the street.
Tapa is said to be one of the most famous foods of the locals, you can’t help but taste it when you’re here in the city, so even with majesty, Farrah and I tried it, along with Spanish wine and desserts.
“If I had the chance I would definitely come back to this place. Everything here was perfect, I can’t wait to experience the nightlife later!” she sort of yelled with excitement.
I heave a deep sigh, if we can just hang out here I’ll do it but we went here for work, then maybe I’ll think about the night bar when I have the chance.
It’s past ten o’clock since we got back to the hotel. A staff greeted us.
“Good morning Miss. Banaag! Mr. Galvez is waiting for you at the lobby area… This way please.” He guided us inside.
I pulled Farrah’s hand to include us wherever the staff took us to escort us into a Restaurant.
At the very beginning of the Restaurant, I saw Nicholas with some staff and photographers because he lifted his handsomeness to everyone wearing a simple White long sleeve polo that was gently folded up to the elbow. We reluctantly approached them who greeted us one by one.
“Looks like you’ve already taken a walk, huh?” Dillan, one of the group’s photographers started with us.
“Ah, Cherry and I just had breakfast outside…” Farrah answered quickly and sat down next to him.
I remained standing because of the look Nicholas gave me. He was sitting across from me, while arms tightly folded.
“Please sit down Miss. Banaag.” He pulled me a chair next to him. I nodded slowly and walked closer to him. He took off my trench coat so I could sit comfortably next to him.
“How was your trip?” he asked me softly.
“Hmm.. Okay, the place was nice and the food was great!” I said.
“That’s good,” he nodded before facing the staff. The meeting started with the serving of high class food and beverages with us. Even though I was full of what I ate earlier. I seemed to feel hungry because the staff complained about our food.
“Cherry, don’t get too full or the dress you’re going to wear won’t fit you. ” Farrah stopped me before giggling at me.
My lips parted, Of course we still have a photoshoot so I slowly put down the cutlery I was holding.
“It’s okay, the food were not high in cholesterol, try this one, It’s called macédoine a mixture of fruits and vegetables,” he said.
“Thanks, Nick!” I smiled at him sweetly and in return he lightly caressed my cheek.
I was startled by the sudden screams of those in front of us, Farrah and Dillan leading the way.
A blushed burned through my cheek and my face felt like a hot oven. I also bent down and quickly drank the water.
The left side of his sexy lip tugged upwards and shake his head. “Let’s get back to work,” he muttered under his breath.
They never spoke again, because of Nicholas’ reaction. We also had an intensive meeting about the first photoshoot that will take place later.
I also just listened intently as they laid out in front of me some places where I would take pictures.
First is in La Braceloneta. This whole part of town has a very beach. I can say that this place can be called Pictured perfect. So the team wasted no time. One by one we prepared to sail to La Braceloneta.
Nicholas did not agree that I would not go with him in his car so even if I wanted to take the bus they rented, it was not possible.
“What place have you been to earlier?” Nicholas asking me while his eyes still focus on the road.
“Hmm, at Parc Güell and Las Lambras. The queue is a bit long and the place is crowded so we decided to go back to the hotel,” I said and turned my heard towards him.
“Those places are good,” he commented.
I never asked if he had ever been to those places. Why else? He got a hotel right here so which mean he been there before.
I glanced at him, how could someone like him like someone like me? With nothing to say in life? I’ll just think how much wealth he has will definitely give me a headache.
I can’t help but shake at my thoughts . Is it just money that runs our lives? Is it the only thing that determines who we should love according to our status in life? What about those of us who are poor and hope for a better tomorrow who want to achieve with their own effort, blood and sweat? If we love the rich will our self-esteem increase? I don’t think so.
“What are you thinking?” He awoke in my silence.
“Uh, You’ve been there before?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“Yes, I grew up here,” he confessed.
I quickly turned to my astonished face to him. A smile played on his lips.
“Really?” I asked him instantly. What burst from his lips was a chortle but quickly brought under control.
“Am I kidding?” he said, and glance at me.
I pursed my lips before leaning back firmly in the chair. I also looked back at the road. I thought even more and later I realized something…
We are not meant for each other.
