I SIGHED at the last thing he said. I adjusted my seat to fight the tension I was feeling.
“So– what is your answer?” He tilted his head to look me in the eye.
“Mr. Galvez–” I cut him off, not wanting to be rude if I said I didn’t like him. I don’t want to rely on nothing because I know the feeling of hope so as much as possible and I want to be honest with him.
“Mr. Galvez, I don’t want to take advantage of your kindness, but maybe it’s better if we just be friends first?” I deeply sighed and sheered to avoid the conversation.
He didn’t answer at first, he stared at me for a while so I was the first to look down.
“I got it,” he said.
I pursed my lips to stop speaking. I want to apologize because I know I hurt him but when I look him in the eyes it seems like I just didn’t say anything to him.
We continued eating. He didn’t ask too many details about me, so I was relieved.
I also did not refuse when he offered to take me home. I was also quiet as we traveled when I was awakened by the successive sounds of my cellphone.
I glanced at Nicholas before I picked up the caller and that’s how my heart grew nervous when I recognized who had registered there.
“Ah – excuse me,” I said slightly to Nicholas who nodded at me.
“H-hello?” I started.
“I need you here at my condo, now!” I heard a husky voice of Rexon coming from the line. I need to gasp with effort to calm the troubled heart.
I barely glanced at Nicholas before I answered. “Alright, I’m coming.” I whispered.
He didn’t answer instead he turned off the call so I quickly turned to Nicholas.
“Ah, can you just take me down there in the corner?” I said here.
“Why? Is this way to your house?” he asked.
I shook my head and leaned over before answering. “I just need to meet someone,” my answer.
“Then I’ll deliver you.”
“I-I’m okay, no needq,” I continued shaking so he glanced at me with a frown.
“No, I insist. It’s fine with me anywhere else.” Then he shrugged his shouder. I have to stiffen by back at the chair because of his repeatedly glancing.
I could do nothing but consent.
“Who are you meeting there?” He didn’t stop me from asking as we both looked up at the condominium building.
I swallow hard before I speak, and firmly fist my hand with effort.
“Its Rexon,” I utter.
“I see, can I come inside? I’ll take you to his condo unit. If that’s okay with you?” he offered and glance down at me with his silly smile.
My lips parted. I didn’t want to think that there was another reason for his offer to accompany me upstairs. Because based on his smile to me, it is obvious that it wants to mean something.
“All right, it’s up to you.” I went to walk first, whatever he was planning I was very worried about it, but who am I to lead all his decisions?
We reached Rexon’s unit, but before I could knock I was already facing Nicholas.
“Thanks for bringing me, that wouldn’t have bothered you,” I smiled at him slightly.
“No, It’s fine with me.” He nodded before pointing me to knock on the door.
I glanced at the closed door for a moment before looking up at him.
“You’re too kind, I appreciate it!” I smiled at him again and wave him a goodbye.
I swallowed a few times before facing the closed door. I took a few sighs before I raised my hand to knock but that’s how I backed away when the door suddenly opened.
I was frozen for maybe a three whole seconds before I notice that he transparently looking at me.
“What is he doing here?” his voice rumble down my spine. Eyes were as immobile as the rest of his face.
“W -what’s the matter,” my tongue twitched and I couldn’t speak yet.
“I just delivered Cherry, it’s l dangerous now on the road.” When Nicholas interrupted what I was going to say. He barely moved me so I quickly glanced at Rexon
His glared daggers on my shoulder. I couldn’t move, as if he suddenly took my strength because of his sharp gaze.
“She’s smart enough to get here alone. Another one, the sun still shining, don’t tell me, you were just concerned about her, don’t you?” His glared intensified, crossing his two arms around his chest.
“Yes, I was concerned,” he answered back while grinning.
Rexon’s gaze shifted to me so I immediately bowed.
“Follow me inside,” he ordered emphatically before we turned our backs.
I swallowed hard before facing Nicholas again.
“I am grateful for your help, but l’ll better go. Thanks again Mr. Galvez.” I smiled.
“Take care…” he softly said, he gently grabbed my arm for a while before turning his back on me. Surprised by what he said, I just chose to go inside.
“Is he courting you?” I almost jumped because of Rexon voice speaking to my side. He was leaning against the wall near the door.
“N-no…” I answered quickly.
He straightened us up and stepped forward for me to pass but first he spoke directly in front of me.
“I don’t trust him,” he said before turning his back on me.
I could do nothing but follow himwith my gaze into his own room. I quickly looked around the whole household, and I noticed some empty wine bottles and beers on the table as well as empty plates and glasses were also there.
Shaking head I started to put that bottle away. And washed straight away. When it was over I went back to clean the table even its scattered clothes on the couch.
Moments later the door opened and he spat out the handsome Rexon, wearing an unbuttoned white long sleeve, white V-neck shirt underneath and denim pants. His black oxford shoes were very impressive which added to the elegance of his body.
“What are you doing?” His brows twitched with displeasing. He looked down at the T-shirt I was holding.
“I just, cleaned up the table.” I said, tightening my grip on his T-shirt because of the kind of look he threw there.
“Just leave it to my housekeeper, let’s go.” he said who had already come out the room.
I left his T-shirt on the couch and followed him outside.
“Where are we going?” I asked while riding in his red car.
“We’re just going to visit someone,” he replied, while glancing at the rear view mirror.
I leaned back and hugged the shoulder bag I was holding. It was as if I was suddenly agitated and felt a strange nervousness.
I also glanced at him quietly. He was wearing something different from his typical rockista outfit all the time. He wasn’t wearing his leather jacket now either. Also, it seems that he poured the perfume all over his body because the smell of him mixing with the air almost penetrated my nose.
“Cindy talked to me about you agreeing to be a T-shirt & Glam model, and without informing me again?” He starts while not taking his eyes off the road.
I swallowed suddenly and bowed my head. “I’m sorry, what a waste of an opportunity if I don’t accept it,” I sincerely said.
“That’s not my point, my concern is I don’t trust him.” He clenched his teeth and continued to look straight.
I gasp heavily, trying to fill my lungs with power before I speak.
He’s being friendly to me, besides I had to work with their company as a part-timer, I don’t see anything wrong that.”
“That’s bullshit!” He hit the steering wheel hard after which he held it very tightly.
“What is wrong with you?!” I couldn’t help but shout at him because he seemed like it was going to burst into flames at any moment.
“My problem is you, Damn it!” he shouted back.
I almost sank when he suddenly braked, well I didn’t forget to put on the seat belt otherwise I might have a lump now.
“What the fuck?!” I said loudly and faced him with a red face.
“We’re here.” He cut it me off.
I quickly turned around and realized we were inside a village.
“Why are we doing here?” I wonder the question.
He did not answer, instead he got out of the car without warning. I did the same and quickly descended out of the car. I looked up the two story house in front of us..
“Whose house is this?” I asked.
