I ROLLED my eyes at him and show off my frown face. “Will you shut up and your dirty mind! I fired him a look.
I stood up again because I intended to leave his room at any moment.
“Yes, I have a dirty mind and right now you are running through it–” He cut off what was being said again after his gaze hovered over my whole being as if someone wanted to interpret it.
I didn’t wait for him to say more because I had already stepped out to get out.
“When you get out of there, I’m not responsible for what will happen next,” he warned me.
I seemed to soften at what he had said. I turn my head to face him with helpless emotion in my face.
“What do you want? Because I can’t understand you anymore…” My voice gets weaker and weaker, there’s nothing inside that I’m just leaning against the closed door as if giving up.
I heard her violent sigh and without saying a word he went to his kitchen.
I firmly shut my eyes and heave a deep sigh of relief since he disappeared from my sight. I also try to get my heartbeat back to normal but it refuses to follow.
“Fuck!” I can’t help but say. I have an urge to leave this house but apart of me saying don’t.
I winced when he returned holding a whiskey bottle and carrying two rock of glasses. Once again I was very cheap to myself and a little out of breath.
“Join me first, I have something to discuss to you,” he said seriously, instead of sitting on the couch, he went out to the veranda to go there.
“What is he about to discuss this time?” I whispered as I followed him outside. I found him sitting in a metal chair facing the dawn breezy night.
“Take a sit…” He ordered without even glancing at me. I noticed that he snatched something from his pocket. A cigarette case and an electric lighter.
I swallowed first before sitting in the opposite seat and watching him kiss the cigarette on the lips before lighting it. The smoke twisted in its artistic way. It seems to have its own rhythm filling around.
“Y-you know, that smoking it’s not good to your health.” I was not deterred from commenting.
Again, I heard a high cold cackle piercing the smoky air, then shrugged before speaking.
“If you don’t like to see me smoking, then you better find another ways to keep my lips busy,” then he smirked.
I don’t know why I found myself laughing so hard. But the truth of the matter is that I want to get rid of the feeling.
“You wanna try?” his lips turn up wide before arranging to sit in front of me.
There I stopped laughing and slightly cleared my throat before averting my eyes.
“Then don’t start, Cherry,” he said.
I just ignored him, instead I gripped the glass and slowly bring it to my lips and gulp the small amount of whiskey.
Damn! I hate drinking liquor but it looks like this is the only thing that can help me now to give me the courage to go through his strains.
He just watched me emptied the glass, while still holding the cigarette in one hand.
I pour another and drank it without a drop left. I grab the bottle again but he desist me.
“Don’t drink too much, I don’t want to serve a drunk girl,” he said.
I tapped his hand and continued pouring the wine into the glass.
“What is wrong with you?! Do I no longer have the right to do what I want when you are in front of me?!” Full of resentment I said.
“I didn’t say anything like that, Cherry,” he replied. He snatched the bottle and poured it into his glass.
“I just don’t want you to get drunk. That’s it.” When he shrugged his shoulders before saying the glass he was holding.
“Then why are we even here?!” I was confused by what was said but he didn’t answered instead he just looked at nothing.
“I have to go…” I said quickly standing up but he stopped my arm. I glared at him violently but I saw Rexon staring at me.
“Please, stay… Just for tonight. ”
The air was still and heavy. The surroundings are almost bright because of the moon’s peek into the dark clouds.
I close my eyes and feel the faint wind brushes against my skin, I just stared when I heard the ice on the glass.
I did what he wanted, I stayed next to him while he was quietly drinking. Earlier the ice had still melted in my glass because I hadn’t even tried to taste the wine there.
Rexon, remain silent. A few puffs from his cigarette he exploded smoke between us. I leaned my back on the chair when he glanced at me. His eyes are already bulging, even his face I can see is red.
“Rex, that’s enough, you’re drunk,” I said in my undertone voice.
“Life is better when you are drunk, isn’t it?” His expression was sober and his thin smile flashed on his lips before swallowing the rest of his glass.
I just shrugged my shoulder. “I should go, maybe Dad already waiting at home,” I say goodbye to him.
But he didn’t answer, he just continued to drink and hit the puff of his cigarette, as if no one could hear me, I also tried to calm myself because of the rising annoyance for him.
I took a deep breath before speaking again and facing him.
“Do you have a problem? Just tell me, maybe I can help?” I shrugged my shoulders again, I feel like I’ve been thinking deeply about it before.
He glanced at me again before grinning. “You’d be surprised if I tell you,” he answered.
I shook slightly before arranging to sit in front of him. I also snatched the glass he was supposed to drink.
“I’ll listen…”
I also drank wine from his glass that he just watched me.
“I can’t make you understand, I can’t make anyone understand what is happening inside me,” he said in distance tone
“I’m willing, Rex…” I bravely grabbed his hand on the table.
But he burst out laughing. His laugh was like a pile of stones under his chest. But he stopped for a moment and turned to look at me.
I held my breath because of the kind of look he gave. I also quickly pulled my hand away because of what he did.
“I’m sad, hurt, angry, mad and disappointed. But you know what? I’ll put on a smile and move on,” he said in his toneless voice.
I sighed violently, I tried to pour the wine into the glass and drank it. Because I felt that what he said was stuck in my throat.
“It’s about, Lara?” I asked him weakly while holding the glass tightly.
He leaned back in his metal chair and lit his cigarette again.
“I’m trying my best to get over her, but I can’t, ” he said weakly.
I fixed my eyes on glass. Words wanted to come out of my lips but I didn’t know what to say.
