“Oy, thank you.” she said softly.
“That oy, you always call me oy, I mean, I’m not against it but I was expecting to call me by my name, not as Doctor Jimenez but as me, Rovi.” he just saw her smile and take a bite on the food they were served. “I think, I over object her the way she calls me oy. I guess, I offend her.” he said on himself, when he was about to say something.
“Oy, it means Only You.” she said straight from his eyes.
He can’t help but to smile, he can’t hide the feeling of being called Only You. After they eat, they walk for a while on the garden of the restaurant. “Do you remember the day that we first hangout just the two of us?” he asked.
“I haven’t remembered everything wholly yet but I’m not in a hurry to remember all those things because I’m satisfied of what I had.” she replied.
“I see… Then, I’ll let you remember all those things you forgot about us day by day.” he said.
“I know.” she smile with a smile on her lips. They walk beside each other and talk of many things. They really enjoy the company of each other.
“I miss you.” he said out of the blue. She looked at him with a clueless expression all over her face. He smiled at her. “When you really miss someone, you miss the little things the most, like just laughing together.” he said while looking at her straight from the eyes. He saw the genuine smile on her lips that made him feel more overwhelmed. “I love that smile of yours. It gives me more hope to endure all the pain that we may face in the future and it gives me the strength that the pain chained me before fades when I see that smile.”
“Do you still remember the promises that I’ve promised you before?” Grace asked.
“Yes, I still remember everything.” Rovi answered. He saw her stopped from walking after he stepped three steps forward. He stopped and faced her; he saw how she looked at him through his eyes.
She smiled at him. “I promise that, no matter what happen, I will never break my promises to you.”
She saw him smile at her and step two steps forward, he hugged her tight. “You never broke any of your promises.” he whispers to her ear.
She also hugged him to express her love and presence. “Sorry for making you wait.” she said.
“No, you don’t have to.” he replied. He released her from hugging. “It’s already late, I’ll drive you home.”
While they were on their way, she fell asleep with full of happiness in her heart. “Grace, wake-up, we’re here.” she heard him to wake her up. She opened her eyes slowly and smiled at him. “You fill my dream of seeing you waking up with a smile on your lips tonight.” he said. She smiled once again and opened the door of the car. She stopped from going out when she felt his hand hold her arms to stop her. “I love you, Grace.” she heard him say then he let her go. She just smiled at him. She saw her mother looking at them; Rovi went out of his car. “Sorry, Auntie, I send her late.” she heard him say apologetically. She saw her mother smiled at him and tapped his shoulder then leave them alone. “Uh, Auntie.” he said to stopped her mother from going. “Can I pick Grace at four in the morning?” she heard him asked nervously. Her mother looked at him and then looked at her. She remained silent. “I just want to invite her to come with me and see the sunrise. We’ll be back after lunch. I promise Auntie, I’ll ride her home safe and sound.”
She saw her mother glance at him then smile and nod. “Grace, sleep now so you can go and see the sunrise with him tomorrow.” she said. “You have to go home now so you can get here before the sunrise.” Mrs. Dizon said.
She saw how Rovi’s eyes brighten with gladness. “Thank you, Auntie.” he thankfully said then smiled at her.
Three-thirty when her mother woke her up in the morning. “Prepare yourself, he’s waiting downstairs.” her mother whispered.
She prepared her dress last night that’s why she only had to prepare herself to face him. She immediately showered then gets dress. She wore a below the knee dress, tan color fitted on her body with white wedge sandals. She picked her beige body bag and a white cardigan that matches her outfit. She just let her hair feel free waving on her back. While she was walking downstairs, she saw him wearing a white long-sleeved that he folds to look like three-forts, tanned color slacks and beige leather shoes. She knew it was just a coincidence but she can’t help but to smile.
The accidents made them more molded and stronger. Rovi’s faith and love had proven that he never let her go despite of Grace lost her memories of him. Rovi still wait until she finally remembered him. Grace’s love never fades even though she forgot about Rovi. The accident thought her the greatest lesson of all that no one could ever put any descriptions or explanations. Her feelings will always be strong and getting stronger with Rovi by her side.
“Grace, wake-up. The sun was about to rise.” she heard him said softly.
