“Didn’t he say that he has a lot of work to do rather than attending a stupid wedding?” Caroline said, recalling the exact words that Santino had used for their wedding.
“Yes, he did.”
“He can come, Mom. After all, he is family, but I want to know the reason behind this sudden change in his heart.” Caroline said before adding, “Where is he now?”
“In his office.”
“Okay!!” Caroline left from there to talk with him. The last thing she wanted in her wedding was TROUBLE, and Santino now himself wanted to attend the wedding so, something that she couldn’t digest. She knocked on his cabin, and after hearing ‘come in,’ she walked inside.
She saw Santino reading some map, maybe an area near the pack or something related to it. The only thing that was common about these two cousins was their dedication to their work.
“Why do you want to attend the wedding now?” She asked directly, coming to the point.
“What do you mean? Arti wanted me to come, that’s why.”
“Really?” Caroline asked in a sarcastic tone. “He invited, and you denied. So, what happened to you all of a sudden because of which your heart changed all of a sudden? Huh?”
“It’s a family function, and I’m also a part of a family. I realized that part later. That’s why I changed my plan.” Santino responded, to which Caroline snapped, pointing toward her forehead. “See my forehead carefully. Do you find IDIOT or STUPID written over here?” She asked.
Santino glared at her, gritting his teeth. “I see you are now talking like my cousin now.”
“Well, what can I say about that? Your cousin is such an amazing person that I couldn’t control myself from copying his style. Now, coming back to my previous question, what’s your motive for attending the wedding?”
Santino clutched his fist in anger, and his wolf growled at her for disrespecting him, on which Caroline, too, let Shaba’s aura release.
“My mate and Artin’s mother. She will be there.” Santino replied. Caroline was taken aback hearing it. What if… what if that woman try to take Artin from her?
“So, you both are thinking of my son away from me now?” Caroline questioned.
“Listen, witch, keep that pup with you. I don’t mind admitting that I can’t be a good father, at least not for now, because there is a lot of thing on my plate. My mate works with that wedding planner cousin of yours! I need to talk with her, and for that, I have to attend your wedding.”
‘Oh, this is between him and his mate, who is unknown to everyone. Who is that girl or woman?’ Shaba wondered.
“Oh, okay.” Caroline nodded and was about to leave when she said, “I know things are not that great between us but… but if you ever need my or Artemis’s help, then we will be there for you.”
“I don’t need anyone’s help. I can manage everything on my own.” Santino said rudely.
Caroline ignored his tone and still said. “My sister is coming to Paris from New York, and my brother is coming from Jersey City after three days for my wedding. I can manage to bring your mate before the wedding, you know, if… if you are thinking of reconciling. My mom says that it’s never late for a second chance.”
Santino didn’t say anything to her, and Caroline teleported herself from there in the next second.

When Caroline returned back into her room, she found Artemis working on his laptop. She reached near him and closed it without warning him.
“Sara..”
“Ssshhh!!” Caroline kept his laptop on the desk near the bed and sat on his thigh, parting her legs, and looking at him. She then wrapped her hand around his neck and admired the handsome face of her mate.
“Don’t tease me, Regina.”
“Why do you always think that my romantic mood means a SIGNAL?” She laughed. “I just want to stay close to you, touch you, feel you, admire your face and enjoy my time with you without loving making.”
“Hmm”
“Did I tell you that I missed you a lot?”
“I miss you too, sweetheart.”
“I’m not sure yet, but I think Santino is thinking of reconciling with his mate,” Caroline said and narrated everything to Artemis. “Maybe, maybe, he is thinking of finally settling in his life. I mean, he always wanted to be an Alpha, and even his priorities weren’t the same as before, so maybe.”
“I don’t know the history, Caro. But as much as I know my cousin, he would have kicked her out of his mate’s life for his ultimate goal if she wouldn’t have been of Alpha blood.” Artemis tried to guess what could have happened in the past. “But a relationship doesn’t work like that, Sarah. It’s like accepting the person in the same way he or she is.”
“I know, but… mom says that not everyone understands this at the first chance. Anyway, let’s see what is going to happen next.”

“Can you see the similarities between these two women?” Megan Rossi asked Michelle.
“Yeah!! They both look connected, just like sisters, except for their hair. The one on the right has blonde hair, while the women on the left have black hair. But why are you asking this?” Michelle replied. “But why are you asking me to solve the puzzle?”
“Because I finally found out the REAL parents of Caroline Gosling.” Megan Rossi smirked after saying this.
