Book:My Mate is a Witch Published:2024-6-3

“It’s a demon who used to sleep six months and used to stay awake for one day, and again he used to fall asleep for the next six months again,” Artemis explained. “By the way, don’t change the topic.”
“Well, you already saw what’s the mess outside the room,” Caroline said, looking here and there. “I kind of killed Isabella because I lost control of my anger.”
“KIND OF?” Artemis chuckled at her choice of word, on which he earned a smark on his arms.
“Fine, I killed her because she wanted to take what’s mine,” Caroline said, looking at his face to read his expression. “And I’m not feeling guilty about it at all. Just because I’m sweet and cute doesn’t mean one can think of me as a fool and idiot.”
“What… what had happened, exactly? And I don’t remember anything?”
“You don’t remember anything because I wiped your memory.”
“Umm… okay!! But why?”
“Because you were almost going to get raped,” Caroline replied, and immediately the color of Artemis’s face paled. “Just don’t ask the details because recalling that moment, I feel like killing that witch again,” Carline said, fuming in anger.
“Hon, it’s not that I don’t trust you. I do, and you know it very well. It’s just that I had seen her keeping an eye on us all the time. Since I didn’t know anything about her then, that’s why I was just trying to protect you. I have no intention of invading your privacy.”
“I know. I’m sorry for asking that question. But why didn’t you tell me about her presence?”
“I didn’t want to disturb you because you were already so busy with work. Also, at that moment, the idea never crossed my idea that she could be related to you in any way because she used to keep an eye on me all the time.” Caroline explained. “That’s I had tied you with that spell.”
“Then why did to undo that spell? Even after knowing that Isabella is my ex and a witch.” Artemis asked. “Weren’t you worried that she could have harmed me or, worst, controlled my mind or wiped my memories something?” He asked again.
“No. I wasn’t worried about that part because I was positive that Isabella couldn’t do that. Only the witches of higher ranks or royal families or some very powerful could do it, and I believe those witches are not that free to do something that nasty and break the rule of their COVEN.”
“Oh, okay, and what if Isabella would have been that powerful, you know?”
“Then one of my cousins is a witch, the reincarnation of the first Witch in this world, around 5000 thousand or more before! So, I would have taken her help then.” Caroline said confidently.
Artemis didn’t ask who that cousin was because the list of cousins was so long in the family. “When none of her plans worked, she used the drug on you to have you on her top.
“That explains why she was wearing the dress that I want you to wear.”
“Hmm”
“Does… does something happen between us?” Artemis asked in tension.
“Thankfully, no. Not from your side of the end.” Caroline muttered, gritting her teeth. Artemis didn’t go into detail, hearing that. Hell, he couldn’t imagine getting touched by her. Though he didn’t judge Caroline’s violent behavior before but now he could understand very well why she lost control of her anger. Hell, he would have done the same if someone would have touched Caroline against her wish.
To be honest, he didn’t like the close bond between Caroline and Dylan, but he was her best friend that was why he couldn’t do anything about it. Also, Dylan was there for her when he wasn’t even in her life.
“So, how did you find that I’m here?”
“I started feeling restless at first, but I ignored it until I activated my power, and Shaba howled in pain.”
“Pain of Betrayal that marked wolves feel when their mate cheats on them,” Artemis concluded, on which Sophia nodded her head.
“I picked Artin and took her to mom’s room to handle him for tonight, and from her, I came to know that she had left a gift from you in my room which I didn’t find at any. And she knew where you were, so….”
“And Artin… Artin didn’t throw a tantrum when you were leaving him?” Artemis asked in surprise.
“He did. He started crying; actually, that’s why I unwillingly used a spell on him to calm him down and divert his mind.”
“Parenting is tough, isn’t it?”
“Too tough. I wonder how mom and dad handled five.” She muttered, rolling her eyes.
‘Food is here, Mr. Gosling.” Aiden mindlinked Artemis. ‘Just like you said, A LOT OF FOOD.’
Artemis left the room to get the food, and the moment he opened the door, All his four security guards smelt blood which Caroline had controlled with her magic. Artemis didn’t tell Aiden the full story and asked him to get this mess cleaned. And then mindlinked Raul to talk with the hotel manager not to give this suite to any other customer. He also explained to Raul the reason behind this sudden decision.
It wasn’t that Artemis couldn’t handle this issue on his own, but now he was the CEO, and he had a lot of things to do about than talking with some minor Manager about it and then keep taking follow up about everything.
