“Yes, Mrs. Gosling.” Aiden paused before continuing, “I want to apologize for my behavior toward you from the beginning. I shouldn’t have judged you without knowing you.” he added.
“Even in the morning, you not just teleported Mr. Gosling and yourself but also me. To be honest, I was worried for him in the beginning when I thought of sending you with you but then… you proved to me how wrong I was. So, I just want to say that I’m sor..”
“What if I did this to win your trust, Aiden?” Caroline asked. “Witches are known to be a very clever creatures, you know.” She added.
“Moreover, I was not at all mad at you for your behavior because I know that you all care and love Artemis and are also protective toward him. So, you were just doing your duties, nothing more. In fact, I respect your work because when you were on duty, you didn’t give a damn to Artemis’s order as well, and that… that is a rare dedication toward work that I appreciate the most. It’s not easy to go against the order of the higher authorities just for his/her safety.” Caroline said, winning Aiden’s heart. Now, he could understand why Artemis was in love with her. Also, he could feel that she was way stronger than she looked because he had sensed that Artemis was also marked, and no normal witch could mark her mate.

Caroline explored the city with Lucy. Lucy didn’t miss that how Caroline offered a meal to homeless people after her lunch but by using Artemis’s card. She couldn’t decipher whether Caroline was wasting Artemis’s money or was doing a good thing.
Not just that, she was using his card to buy unnecessary things.
“Why are we here?” Lucy asked when after exploring the city and after doing a lot of shopping, they reached the Orphanage.
“It was Artemis’s birthday yesterday.”
“Yes, I know,” Lucy stated as a matter of fact.
“So, these things are for the kids from his side,” Caroline replied. “Come on, let’s go inside.” She added and walked inside the Orphanage to meet the manager of Orphanage so that she could distribute all the things that she had purchased for them.
While Lucy kept staring at her, widening her eyes, she couldn’t believe her own eyes. She observed how great she was with the kids who weren’t aware of their parents or were sent to an orphanage after the death of their parents.
‘She can’t fake all these things. She is indeed different.’ She mentally thought.
Near Orphanage, there was an old age home at some distance, in such a way that old age people could spend time with kids giving them the love they missed having from their REAL parents.
Caroline almost visited them, thankfully most of them knew English, so the language didn’t create any problem.
“We have never seen you before, child. Are you new here?” June, one of the old ladies asked.
“Yes, Grandma June. I…”
“What did you call me?”
“Grandma June?” Caroline repeated in confusion. June smiled at her words and caressed her face. “Did I say something wrong?”
“No. Nothing.” June said, wiping her tears from the corner of her ears. “So, you were saying?”
“I was saying that I settled here recently with my husband. It was his birthday yesterday, and I used his money for some good purpose.” Caroline said and giggled at her words.
“May god bless you both.”
“I want god to bless him more than me because I know as long as he will be fine. Nothing will happen to me.”
“June, Adesso dobbiamo iniziare a prepararci per la cena.” Other lady said, on which Caroline furrowed her eyes.
“What is she saying?” Caroline asked.
“She is calling me to prepare for the dinner?”
“Why? Why will you all cook the food?” She asked in confusion.
“Because the cook left the job because of most personal reasons. So, now we all cook the foods.” June replied. “Okay, Caro, I have to go now. If possible, please keep visiting us because no one comes to visit us after all; we are that part of our family which are of no use.”
“Sure. Grandma June.” Caroline nodded and then walked to the manager’s office to talk with him about the requirement for a cook.

“You want to be the cook?” The manager asked in surprise because Caroline’s look was some badass girl and not someone who would ever enter in kitchen.
“Yes!! I have seven of experience working in an NGO for elderly care. So, I can help in looking after those people as well.”
“Oh! Please don’t mind, but you don’t like someone who has experience of seven years with this look.” The manager said. “But I won’t go with your look. You can submit your resume and identification proof. If you really can cook, then I will hire you but let me warn you that old age people are too hard to control and are also moody and irritating.”
“Don’t worry about that, Mr…?”
“Pablo. Just Pablo.”
“Okay, Pablo. Don’t worry about that. I know old age people are no less than infant kids, unpredictable. I will be here tomorrow with the documents that you asked for.” Caroline said. “It’s nice meeting you.”
“Likewise, Caroline.”
With a smile on her face, Caroline looked for Lucy, who was just outside the manager’s cabin.
“I was going to tell you about it, but it seems like you’re already aware of it,” Caroline said and bid bye to the kids they left from there.
