Xena
Lunch time came and I had just finished with my Chemistry class. I was walking down the hallway to get to the cafeteria but something caught my eye.
More like someone.
“Felix? Are you lost?” I ask him
“Oh hey! You’re Xena, right?” He says.
“Yeah, I stopped by because you looked a but confused on where you were going. It’s lunch time right now. You can join my friends and I for lunch” I smile.
Brie would really love for him to sit with us.
“Oh thank you, I was actually a bit confused on where to go” he sheepishly smiles.
“You can just follow me” I smile and we both walk down the hallway. While I was walking I started making small talk.
“So, where have you come from?” I ask him
“I’ve moved here from France actually. My Mother found a better job opportunity here” he says.
“Oh that’s nice, I’ve actually always wanted to visit France” I say.
“Do you have an siblings?” He turns to me and asks me.
“Sadly I do not. I’ve always wanted one though” I say
We then reached the door to the cafeteria. We pushed it open and we walked to the table where I saw Cam, Brie, Owens and Archer all sitting on already.
“Hey guys, Felix will be sitting with us for lunch from now on” I smile.
“Oh! Felix! Hi! You can sit here” Brie says patting on the seat beside her. Cam was on the other side of Brie. Owen right opposite her. Archer was sitting on the seat beside Owen so I decided to sit next to him.
“Hey” I sigh and lean my head on his shoulders.
Archer was busy on his phone, texting away until he noticed that I sat down beside him. His face looked a bit serious. I then looked down to see he was talking to his dad. It’s probably about business.
Archer told me that his dad’s training him with all the business work so that he’s ready to take over as CEO once his dad feels like it’s his time to retire. He did mention about how he would want to retire as soon as Archer finished university.
“Hey, you good?” I take my head off his shoulder and run my finger through his golden-brownish curly locks.
“Hey… not really. Dads been putting lots of stress on me on this whole company thing. He said that he wants to get more involved in the business now so that once he retires, I don’t know what I’m doing” Archer shakes his head.
I felt bad for Archer. His dad putting a huge burden on his shoulders only when he’s 18 isn’t really smart. He still needs to graduate and that almost 6 months away.
“I’m sorry. He’s probably just trying to get you used to it so you can deal with this type of work easier when you do become CEO of the company” I try and reason still gently running my hands through his hair at the back of his head.
Archer nods and the turns to me and smiles. He leans in and gives me a small peck on the lips.
“You’re literally the best soulmate I could ever ask for” he whispers leaning his forehead on mine.
“And I could say the same” I smile back.
“Have you eaten?” He says removing his forehead from mine to look at me properly.
“No, not yet” I shake my head, he was staring into my eyes so intently. That I started to fidget under his stare since I got shy and nervous. Pulling at the sleeves of the hoodie.
He really had a an effect on me… not that I’m complaining.
His eyes follow my movement and then he frowns a bit. “You know you took my most comfortable hoodie. It was favourite one too” he shakes his head with a frown, but you could see the small smile sneaking through.
“Awe, too bad. Who told you to give it to me then?” I smile evilly.
“It’s because I didn’t expect you to take it from me forever!” He says, finally smiling and showing his pearly whites.
“Well… next time don’t give me your favourite hoodie then” I shrug, a smile also on my face.
“There will be no next time, because I’m never lending you my clothes again… thief” he shakes his head playfully.
“I’m only a thief for your clothes” I grin.
I then got in the line to get myself some disgusting lunch food.
It’s only been 2 or 3 months since I’ve been able to taste things and school food is the worst.
I come back after a few minutes with my crappy school food which just consist of some semi cold pizza.
I shudder just thinking about having to eat it.
“When’s yours?”
“Just 2 months left” Felix says.
“What are you guys talking about?” I ask taking a seat back to where I was sitting.
“We were just asking Felix when he’s meant to meet his soulmate” Archer says. His phone then dings, indicating a notification. He just looks at the message and then locks his screen again.
This whole company thing really is taking a toll on him, huh?
I turn to look at Brie and she turns to look at me. When realisation hit me. They both have 2 months left to meet their soulmate. My eyes widen at her and her eyes widen too.
I excuse myself from the table along with Brie. While we’re walking somewhere away from the table, I tap on Cams shoulder almost to signal her to follow us. Cam looked confused but still followed. We walk till we’re near the entrance of the cafeteria.
“Okay listen up both of you. I know you like Felix” I say pointing a finger at her in a playful way.
“What?!” Brie says shocked while Cam just holds back a giggle.
“Don’t laugh, honey. Cause I know that you have some type of feelings for Owen” I say pointing at Cam.
Cam shuts up and immediately stops laughing, making it Bries turn to start laughing.
“Fine… I might have a teeny tiny crush on Felix” Brie sighs.
“Yea same…” Cam nods.
“What?!” I turn to Cam in shock. Cam has a crush on Felix?!
“No! GOD NO! I meant, yeah same, as in I have a crush on Owen, not Felix” Cam exclaims.
“I know for a matter of fact that both of you guys are meant to be soulmates with them” I say looking at both of them.
“I don’t think we are though” Cam says.
“Yeah” Brie nods her head.
“I don’t think it’s just a coincidence that you have a crush on a guy that you just met and you both have the same dates written on your wrist” I say looking down at her wrist. Felix has two months left. So does Brie.
“And same goes for you, you have 3 months left” I tell Cam.
They both simultaneously look down at their dates on their wrist then back up at me.
“But what if it’s just a coincidence. There are multiple people who have the same month they might meet their soulmate” Brie shakes her head.
“Plus if I was his soulmate, the mark would have disappeared.” She continued
“Exactly” Cam nods along.
“Have your parents never told you on how this soulmate thing works” I look at the both in disbelief.
“No?…” they shake their head
“Well let me teach you guys” I smile
“You can either find your soulmate if you kiss them on the lips—that’s the quickest way—but sometimes once you find yourself your soulmate but the tattoo doesn’t fade away because you guys don’t know each other properly or just recently met” I say looking at them to see if they understood what I was saying.
Sometimes I’m grateful my dad told me these things.
“Oh wow. I didn’t know that, I just thought that you just meet them when you’re supposed to.”
“I mean… that too. But who’s actually going to wait for that. Am I right?” I say.
“I mean… you did” Brie smiles remembering the event during the party.
“Yeah… but I still kissed him. I thought that after that I’ll meet my soulmate. But turns out it was him” I smile
“You guys are so cute… especially when you guys always argue” Cam says with a smile on her face.
“Anyways enough about Archer and I. You guys need to find a way to make that thing disappear quicker. Because I’m 100% sure it’s them as your soulmate” I say pointing at the tattoo/mark.
They both agree and we head back to the lunch table. I sit back down and Archer gives me a small peck on my temple.
“I need to talk to you” Archer whispers.
Uh oh… thIs doesn’t sound good.
“Yeah what is it?” I say quietly so that no one hears us from the table.
“Uh, I might have to go with my dad on a business trip to Italy, it was all my dads decision. I promise. He just wants me to “experience” how it’ll be like, and I agreed because it sounds interesting and fun. Please don’t get mad, I won’t be for that long it’s only 2 weeks and I promise to always—” Archer starts to ramble nervously. He’s probably nervous on how I would react.
I then turn to him and give him a big smile. Stopping him from the rambling. “Archer, baby you need to calm down. Why would I be mad? If you’re happy with going for this business trip then so am I! You’re going to get to experience so many things” I smile.
Archer paused and looks at me for a second before smiling.
“Oh. I don’t know why I was getting nervous” Archer says while shaking his head.
“Neither do I” I smile.
“So, when are you leaving?” I ask
“I’m supposed to leave next week.” Archer answers my question.
We then continue to talk and join in with the conversation that the others were having.
