after an hour we left for the Reynolds house, we rang the door bell and after a few seconds Mrs. Reynolds opens the door.
“Ann, how are you?” My mom smiles.
“I’m doing good, please come in” she smiles and makes way for us to come in the house.
We walk in and Mr Reynolds was sitting on the sofa watching something.
Mr Reynolds turns around to see who was there and then smiles and stands up when he sees us.
“Jackson, hey. How are you?” My dad asks.
“I’m doing great” Mr Reynolds responds
“Rose, Blake come down!” Ann yells.
I walk to the sofa that I usually sit on and Sophia sits beside my parents.
They were all taking about something when we hear someone walking down the stairs, a few seconds later Blake comes into view.
He spots me sitting on the sofa and smirks before walking and sitting next to me on my left.
“Hey” he smiles and was about to kiss me on the lips but I turn my face away and he ends up kissing my cheek.
I look around the room and I see both Blake’s and my parents staring at us expectantly.
Never in a million years would I kiss Blake in front of our parents, once I’m comfy then maybe but not when everyone has their eyes on us.
Call me childish, I don’t care.
Blake just smiles before he starts talking, “can we check if we got an email from UCLA today?” He asks.
I completely forgot about that, I need to check if I got an email.
“Oh right, I forgot about that. We can check after lunch” I reply.
“Are you nervous?”
“Of course I am, I really want to get into that University” I nod my head.
“I really hope we—” Blake was cut off by Rose running down the stairs and almost tripping on her own foot.
“God, someone get that last step fixed” Rose mumbles, blaming the trip on the step.
“There’s nothing wrong with the step Rose, you always run down the stairs which causes you to trip all the time” Jackson rolls his eyes.
“What? no! I never run down the stairs” she defends putting her hand on her chest for more dramatic effect.
Oh Rose…
“Hey Ava” she smiles at me and sits on the right of me.
What’s funny is that we’re all sitting in the same places we sat the first time I came to their house, when my family just shifted here.
The only thing changed is that Blake isn’t being a cold hearted bitch anymore and we’re dating and I may love him.
Shocking.
“Hey Rose” I smile back.
“Where’s Cola?” I ask
I miss him. I haven’t seen him in a long time.
“Oh he’s upstairs sleeping on my bed” Blake smiles.
“Oh please, you forced cola to sleep on your bed even though we all know he doesn’t like you” Rose rolls her eyes and smirks.
“In fact no one likes you” she adds in.
“Oh please, Ava likes me. She even prefers me over you. Right Ava?” Blake looks at me expectantly.
Why’d do I get dragged into this?
“Ha! See she isn’t responding which means she prefers me over you” Rose smiles.
What? I never said that.
“I never said that, I just kept quiet” I cross my arms over my chest.
“Oh burn” Blake lamely says.
“But Ava—”
“Nope, don’t drag me into any of this” I cut Rose off.
“So Ava, have you received an email from the university yet?” Jackson asks.
“I actually don’t know, I haven’t checked yet” I simply say.
“You and Blake should open in at the same time” Ann says excitedly.
“Yeah mom, we were deciding on doing that anyways” Blake answers for me.
“I should go and get the food ready” Ann says and stands up.
“I’ll help” my mom stands up and follows Ann to the kitchen.
My dad and Jackson starts talking about something while Rose, Blake, Sophia and I have our own conversation.
Minutes later, Ann calls everyone to the table.
Rose sits on my right, Blake on my left, Sophia opposite Rose, my mom in between Sophia and my dad while Ann and Jackson sits on each end of the table.
“So, how long have you guys been dating for?” My dad asks.
My face becomes and crimson red and I hide it with my hair, what makes it even worse is that Blake’s hand is on my thigh under the table.
“For about 3 months now” I say while I eat food on my plate.
“Yeah but technically 5 because they’ve like each other for about 2 months before they started dating” Rose smirks.
Shut up Rose.
“But it isn’t counted” I defend.
“Sure” Rose smiles innocently.
We then start talking about university and other stuff which I’m grateful for.
After we were done with lunch we all went back to the living room, but Rose, Blake, Sophia and I went upstairs.
We went upstairs and we all went to Roses room, Rose was leaning on the head board of her bed, Sophia was sitting on the floor with her head rested on the bed and I was laying down, my head on Blake’s lap.
“Wanna check if we got accepted?” Blake asks me while he plays with my hair.
Do I really want to check it right now? What if I don’t get in…
“Stop overthinking” He says tapping my forehead.
“Yeah, you guys should check it out now” Rose says excitedly while Sophia just nods.
“Okay, let me go get my laptop” Blake smiles and gets up from the bed.
“Rose? Can I use your laptop?” I ask.
“Yeah sure” she nods and picks up her laptop that was laying beside her on the bed and hands it to me.
“Thanks” I say and I log into my email.
Blake come back in already having his laptop open and logged in into his email.
We clicked on the link that was sent to us and the letter pops up on the screen.
I started to read what was written, my heart was beating fast and loud .
Dear Ava:
Congratulations! On behalf of UCLA, I am pleased to inform you of your acceptance into the program.
There were more stuff written but I had stopped reading it as soon as I read the first sentence.
I got accepted into the university that I was dreaming to get into.
Oh. My. God.
“HOLY SHIT” I yell.
“I GOT ACCEPTED” I scream and I look at Blake but he was just staring at his screen, he looked lost.
“Blake?” I ask.
He just turns to me and shakes him head before walking out of the room with his laptop.
I look at Rose and she looked just as confused as I did.
I’m sure he got accepted, right? Hell he’s smarter than me.
“I’ll go and see what’s up” I simply say and I walk out the room and I head to his room.
His door was open and he was sitting on his bed looking away from the door, still starting at his screen.
“Blake?” I call out.
“Did you get accepted?” I ask.
He puts his laptop down and just stares at me before he stranding up from his bed.
“Ava… I—I”
“I got accepted” he breaks into a smile.
The first thing I did was out of reflex.
I slap him.
He looked shocked and confused at the same time.
“Blake! You can’t joke around like that! You got me all worried” I yell then pull him in for a hug.
“Holy… we both go accepted baby” he pulls away and smiles at me before kissing me all over my face.
“I know” I smile and rest my head on his chest.
“Let’s go tell our parents” I pull away and look at him with a smile playing on my lips.
“Yeah, but let’s go and tell Rose and Sophia first. Rose looks scared” Blake laughs.
I nod my head and walk back to Rose’s room.
I’ll keep my cool.
I’ll tell them calmly.
“BLAKE AND I BOTH GOT ACCEPTED” I yell and jump on her bed.
“Oh my god really! That’s great!” Rose smiles and hugs me before punching Blake on his arm.
“Don’t joke about stuff like that, Blake” Rose rolls her eyes playfully.
“Jeez sorry” he rubs the spot where Rose punched him.
“Okay, lets go and tell our parents” I say while I walk out do the room. I was too excited to keep still.
We all walk down the stairs and everyone downstairs stops talking staring at us expectantly.
“So? Did you guys get accepted?” My mom asks us while she moves around in her seat.
“Blake and I checked our emails and…” I smile at them.
“We both got accepted” Blake smiles brightly.
“Oh hunny that’s great!” My mom and says already up from her seat.
She walks up to us with Ann right behind her and she pulls me in a hug before hugging Blake.
After everyone congratulated us we all sat on the sofa talking to each other before my parents said they had to go to work, Jackson and Ann agreeing as well.
We all say goodbye—well my parents and Sophia—I was staying for a bit longer.
“By the way Sophia? I just realised that it’s a Wednesday… aren’t you supposed to be at school?” I question.
“Yeah… I didn’t feel like going” she says before walking out the door with my parents.
Alright then…
Rose, Blake and I head to Blake’s room and we all sit and have our small convo about random stuff.
“Rose? Did you check if you got accepted?” I ask
“Yeah, I checked yesterday. I got accepted” she smiles and nods her head.
Rose wanted to go out of California for university, she had applied to one abroad but I don’t remember the name.
“That’s good!” I smile and give her a quick hug.
“What about Conner?” I ask
“I don’t know. He hasn’t opened his email yet” Rose shrugs.
“You know what shocking is that we’re graduating in less than 1 month” Blake states.
“I know, it’s shocking” Rose nods her head.
