The silent voice of her sobbing were making his mind go blank, he needed to stop her from crying or else he knew his mind would stop working. Ryan was a smart man but when it came to human interaction, especially woman, he would go clueless. There was this one thing that kept coming back to his mind, when he was young his relative had bought home a baby. The baby kept crying so his mother suggested the baby’s mother to put it to sleep.
Young Ryan who was watching everything got this thing printed in his mind that if someone was crying they should be put to sleep. Without giving it a second thought he held her wrist and pulled her closer; bending down he picked her up in his arms in bridal style. By the time Bee could understand what just happened she was already in his arms, nuzzled in his chest.
He held her tightly and started walking out of the bathroom; her heart skipped a few beats as she looked up at the Adonis who had her in his arms. Even though there were hint of years in her eyes she had stopped crying a long time ago.
The pulse of his stable heartbeat was booming in her ears through his chest on which she had her head. The man looked straight at the way out serving the girl with his side profile. No matter what profile he gave her to see, he was handsome in everything.
Ryan took large strides towards the door, twisting the door open he got access to her bedroom. He kept her slowly on the bed and pulled up the sheets.
“Sleep!” He ordered coldly. The girl had stopped crying by this time and kept staring at him with her big round eyes guarded by her wet eyelashes. Ryan fell in a daze, it was his first time he saw a girl cry and the second time in his life he felt most helpless with.
“Dinner?” He asked solemnly to which the girl replied with a no. “Wait here!” He spat before taking his phone and dialing someone who receive the call immediately. “Bring dinner for her.” He ordered before hanging up. Everyone in the household knew who this ‘her’ was so it didn’t take long for the maid to show up with the food.
She placed the food on the table and left bowing down at him. Ryan sat down at the corner of her bed with the plate in his hand; passing it at her be said, “Eat!”
The girl sat up straight, she was hungry to be honest and immediately accepted the food and started wolfing it down.
Ryan stared at the girl, he was battling with himself whether to say it or not. He hardly knew how to talk, let alone say a sorry or satiate a woman.
Working his brain hard he finally had a string of words which he found perfect to be said, with a face and tone as solemn as possible he started, “I will treat you better!”
“Huh?” Chewing on her food she looked up at him; the man elaborated himself, “I will keep you happy and give you a life you would have never dreamt of. I will give you everything you would ever ask for but in exchange of that I will take your freedom.”
“I promise you this will be the last time you ever got your eyes wet, I won’t hurt you anymore. I will keep you like a princess… Just don’t ever think about leaving. Okay?”
She slowly filled down her food gazing blanky at him, even though his words still felt rude Bee’s heart crept up with a tender sense of warmth. She knew that he was repenting for being rude to her back then and actually thought that she was gonna leave him.
Little Bee had no idea what was the relationship they shared but she knew she didn’t want to go away from him.
S she ha they shared but all she knew was that he gave her a sense of belongingness no one, even Arthur, gave her. She smiled at him, it was just too easy to move her heart.
When she was in the club she used to believe the owner was her father, whenever he came to the club she would run up to him addressing him as dad and would nag him to take her back to home. The man first brushed her off but when she got troublesome he shunned her away with scoldings. Bee was hurt thinking that she had no parents; did they lost her or didn’t want her at all.
She did use to talk to everyone and be merry with them but deep down she couldn’t escape from the fact that she was nothing more than a lonely soul. She had no one to tell her a bed time story, kiss her cheeks or pat her head… There was nowhere where she really belonged.
Now, when this man whom she had met two days before was showing something towards her. Providing her with everything and even making her stay with him; Bee for the first time felt as if she too meant something to someone.
The pain of him treating her poorly was lost somewhere amidst this feeling which had no word to be explained. She gulped down her bite and wanted to say something but was unable to find the right word. “Mr. Neguyen, you can rest assured. I won’t ever leave!”
“Mmm” the man grunted before standing up, looking at her he continued, “Sleep, it’s late.”
The girl beamed, “Good night, Mr. Neguyen!” The man’s poker features softened as he replied, “Good night, Bee.” After he left the maid followed up to clean the room for her; after changing into the pajamas the girl too went to sleep.
Bee was yet to get accustomed to this alien place and thus was twisting and turning all night on the warm bed. Staring at the ceiling she was thinking about her interaction with Ryan. He had an ever changing temperament, one that would change within the snap of a finger. She thought back of the moment when he scolded her in the room; seemed like he was not willing to believe on her. It was not his fault though, no one believed on her.
