A loud male voice came instantly, “Am I so inferior to him?”
His tone was full of pain. Although she had kept her voice down just to avoid embarrassing him in public, he totally ignored it, shouting at her in front of so many people.
At the moment, Halle just felt her head aching badly.
She tried to walk away, but he was already running over to her quickly. There were so many people that she couldn’t get out of the crowd promptly, and then her hand was caught by Jaiden. His palm was a little damp, and some indescribable anger was emanating from him. He was angry, very angry.
Halle had never seen Jaiden irritated before. Sometimes, she thought his not giving up was just some kind of stubbornness and has nothing to do with love. But now for her his love was torture for both of them.
Whistles and boos were all around. She wanted to ask him where he had gotten the car, but it was hard to ask under this condition.
He was incredibly strong, dragging her straight to his car, and there was no hope for her to break away from him.
She subconsciously scanned her surroundings when she was shoved into the car, wishing someone could rush up and pull away Jaiden for her, but no one came to help her.
At that moment, it suddenly occurred to her that if Ronan was here, he would have taken her away, and her gaze naturally swept out from the car. But she was stunned with just one glance—another black BMW suddenly appeared at that moment, and properly parked in front of Jaiden’s car.
No honking and no reaction, Jaiden didn’t say anything, but directly steered his car in reverse and prepared to roar off when he found out that it was Ronan’s car.
“Hiss…”
The incessant brakes made the already uncomfortable Halle pale. She wanted to get out of the car, but she had no chance now.
Jaiden had already backed the car out of the entrance of T University. He could get on the road and leave quickly with one turn.
However, Ronan’s car, which had originally parked in front of his car, suddenly rushed over from the side. “Bang”, the huge impact sound of cars shocked Halle’s ear drums to pain, but the headache was even worse. She gripped the handle tightly, only felt some discomfort in her belly. “Stop … stop …”
Screaming desperately, she wanted to get off. She did not want to be with these men anymore, and she wanted to protect her babies and herself well.
“Sit still, don’t move.”
However, Jaiden didn’t care about it at all. He started the car, and drove back towards Ronan. “Bang”, another crash heard. The crowd at the gate had long given way, nobody dared to step forward. People getting involved in games like this would either die or get injured, and it was somewhat not funny.
Halle could not bear it anymore and pressed the unlock button to open the car door. She jumped out of the car regardless of whether the car was starting. She really did not care it for the sake of the child.
The car was shaking. These two men really didn’t care for their luxury cars worth millions and played their car crash games as if these were just toys. Halle had no time for them, since the pain in her belly was more and more severe. She staggered out of the equally shaking car. She felt vertiginous when she just reached to the ground, and her eyesight was blurred. She wanted to get hold of something to stabilize her body, but the shaking of the two cars told her that she absolutely should not touch them.
She staggered forwards to the crosswalk.
“Blood …”
She heard someone shriek.
Yes, she felt something’s wrong, too. It seemed that she was literally bleeding underneath her belly, and her belly was getting increasingly uncomfortable. She didn’t have time to look at it and care about anything. At that moment, the only thing left in her mind was her baby, which she wanted so badly to keep.
She reached out to hail a taxi.
She was luckier this time than the night she saw Hunter and Natalie kissing. She just waved her hand and a taxi stopped. Looking at the car, and not knowing where the strength came from, she stepped on it very steadily so that the driver didn’t even notice that she was bleeding.
“Halle …”
“Halle …”
The two men shouted almost at the same time behind her, but she ignored them totally and hurriedly said to the driver,
“To the nearest hospital, be quick.”
She reached into her pocket and took out all her money, “Here you are. Take me to the hospital. Make sure you do.”
“Fastened your seat belt, miss. I’ll take you there right now.”
The driver was terrified by her, started the car as fast as he could and headed straight for the hospital.
The two black BMWs behind the taxi were following frantically as if they were escorts. They didn’t play the car crash game now. Despite the fact that ugly scratches and blemishes had been all around the car, they ignored it and chased after the taxi, both men were dumbfounded when they watched the car driving towards the hospital.
Halle heard her phone ringing, and it was so loud that worsened her headache.
She struggled to take out her phone, and pressed hard on the screen to stop the annoying sound. She felt like she was dying. She rested her hand on her belly, extremely anxious about whether she could keep her baby.
While she’s only half conscious, the car seemed like it had stopped and she was in someone’s arms.
The smell of disinfectants filled her nostrils. She hated going to hospital, but now she had to, for the sake of the baby.
Trying hard to clear her head, she wanted to know if her baby was okay and if she could still keep it.
But her eyelids were getting heavier and heavier, and as crystal tears slipped from the corners of her eyes, she was out of consciousness completely.
Halle fell asleep …
She had nightmares all the time. She dreamed about her father and mother, and their bloody bodies, and she could not help screaming. She didn’t want her baby gone, and though unknown even to her, the sense of survival for the sake of her baby was so strong.
The pain she felt was constant.
Even when she’s sleeping, the pain never faded away.
But she finally woke up, worrying about the unborn child in her belly. She felt her eyelids were a little heavy, but she couldn’t continue to sleep, since she wanted to check if her baby was still here. She lowered her hand, dragging the infusion tube and needle along with it, and the backflow of blood caused stabbing pain, and also woke up the man in front of her bed, the man groaned, “Halle, don’t move.”
Then he hastily reached over and rang the bell at the head of her bed, “Needle’s out. We need to do infusion again.”
But she didn’t care about all of that, and just kept groping her belly, but the baby was so small that she couldn’t feel anything through the quilt, and she panicked suddenly, “You get out! Get out! I need the nurse.”
Tears was running down her face. Was the baby gone?
Yelling, she reached out the other hand to anxiously pull the needle that had come off and the infusion tube was full of blood. A hand fiercely pressed her hand, and Ronan coolly said,
“The baby is still there. Take it easy.”
Was the baby still here?
She looked at him, “Really?”
“Yes, I won’t lie to you.”
She finally felt relieved, but still stared at the door firmly, waiting for the nurse to come over and confirm it again. She really hated him, since all of the baby’s robbery was because he hit Jaiden’s car first, he’s the one to blame, so she really hated him.
The nurse came, without saying anything, pulled off the needle of the infusion, and then put another needle. Watching the nurse finish doing all this, Halle hurriedly said,
“Nurse, is my baby okay?”
“It’s okay, please be more careful next time, you won’t be so lucky every time.”
“Okay, thanks.”
She was rebuked, but smiling happily, her child was really still alive, that’s good, then she turned to look at Ronan, “Mr. Grant, you can go now.”
Ronan’s face was bad, but instead of leaving, he said,
“Whose child?”
By this time, all he cared about was whose baby she had. Halle sneered, “Not yours.”
She didn’t want to talk about anything else.
“Whose is that?”
He leaned down and caught her by the shoulders, “Whose is it? Tell me!”
Just then, the door was pushed open. Jaiden walked in carrying a thermos, Halle glanced at him, and in that moment, surprisingly, she made a decision in her mind, then pointed at Jaiden and said in a deep voice,
“It’s his.”
“Halle, what?”
Jaiden walked over and didn’t hear her words before he came in, so he didn’t understand what Halle was saying for a moment.
“Congratulations, you’re going to be a father.”
After saying that, Ronan turned to Halle in Jaiden’s dumbfounded look, “Halle, originally, grandpa wanted me to marry you, but you cheated during our marriage, our dissolution of marriage will not be considered as I violate grandpa’s last words, you are the one who first betrayed me, goodbye.”
Ronan walked out the ward. His back left Halle coldness. Looking at his back, Halle softly smiled with tears in eyes. As expected, he said he would take her to get a marriage certificate just because of grandfather’s last words, rather than wanted to marry her sincerely. It was good, lest they would fell regret if they got a marriage license, then she would have a second marriage in the future.
“Bang,” the door closed, shaking her ear drums to a bit hurt. Jaiden sat in front of her bed, opened the thermos, the smell of appetizing chicken soup came to her nose. Jaiden didn’t ask what her words meant, and handed her the chicken soup, “Drink it, you need to mend your body.”
A lump came into her throat, she thought Jaiden would insist to ask to the end, but he did not ask anything. She ate the chicken soup spoon after spoon, as if the taste buds didn’t taste the chicken soup. She drunk it numbly, as if it was her task. Ronan left her, but she still had a child.
Halle fell asleep after finishing the soup. Jaiden tucked her in and sat wordlessly in front of her bed until she woke up, and he was still in front of her bed when she woke up.
