Only then did Selina realize that even the meal yesterday was part of Denise’s plan. And she didn’t find out until now.
Seeing a newcomer’s career gonna take off, other colleagues were all jealous of it.
Now that seeming to have something on her, they all flung more mud at her.
“Denise’s got a point. We did see them eating together yesterday, both talking and laughing.”
“Yeah, and I heard Denise say that she would be happy to help her.”
Selina frowned. “It’s just a coincidence. In fact, a building can be designed in either Oriental, continental or simple style. If Denise can choose Oriental style, why can’t I?”
Denise’s story simply couldn’t hold water!
“It’s not just the style. Take a look at this.”
Denise pointed to a spot on the screen, saying. “This is my unique design. This is original!”
It was an Oriental-style flower rack, modified by Selina on the traditional Oriental style, which looked more elegant.
Therefore, when she redrew up her plan, she used the rack naturally.
Selina never expected that it would serve as a proof of plagiarism! Denise didn’t even change her design, but how could she know it?
Darnell frowned.
People then talked and talked, to a tumult of reproaches and criticism towards Selina.
“Your plans look so similar. Did someone fished out your idea so that she can copy it?” Someone asked Denise.
She shrugged, suggesting it was the fact and pointing fingers of blame at Selina.
Selina took a deep breath and said, “Yes, Denise, you’re right!”
Selina admitted? The others never expected that.
They stared at Selina with disdain. Denise grinned with the triumphant air.
Selina continued, “Yeah, someone did copy the design, but this person is not me, but Denise Atton!”
Denise’s smile froze. Then she quickly shouted back, “Nonsense.”
“Well, the evidence will tell. If you claim it’s your idea, then show us your preparations.”
Denise was dumbfounded. She missed that!
Denise thought Selina was a pushover. However, she didn’t expect she would be so clam.
“I finished it in one go.” Denise gritted her teeth.
Selina said, “So you don’t have it, then. Here are my preparations.”
Then, Selina opened her folder and showed everyone the information and cases she had used in the past few days. There were some drafts. The computer showed the exact time when these drafts were done.
And they were all before Denise’s.
Darnell had figured it all out. He looked at Selina with appreciation.
Denise still tried to argue, “It can only show that you chose Oriental style at first, but it can’t prove that I copied you.”
“It can!” Selina said. She turned around and pointed her finger at the flower rack.
“Everyone, please take a look at the shape of this flower rack.”
Everyone’s gaze was turned to the rack.
Darnell was the first to see it, he cried, “It’s an S!”
The flower rack was designed in the shape of S, the first letter of Selina’s name. They didn’t notice it at first.
Everyone then realized. “Yeah, it is.”
“Oh, I see. This is Selina’s name.”
“Good! That’s something!” Darnell smiled.
Someone asked, “Mr. Cornell, how should we deal with the person who stole someone’s idea and tried to blame others?”
“I feel disgusted at the thought of working with a thief!”
“How did she manage to become a famous designer?”
Denise’s face was dark. “You know how to choose a side, don’t you?”
“Well, we’re better than a thief at least.”
Denise said proudly, “I don’t want to work with you people, either!” Then, she strode out.
“Alright, let’s continue. We need to show our client four plans. I move that Selina is one of them, any problems?”
“No!” Everyone laughed.
“Then it’s settled.” Darnell then picked out another three plans and the meeting was dismissed.
Selina quickly ran out. Denise hadn’t gone far, and she said, “Denise!”
Denise didn’t stop, but walked even faster.
“Denise!” Selina shouted again, “Let’s be honest. You didn’t look like a thief. Why did you do it?”
Denise sneered, “Do you think I want to do it? Someone told me to.”
“What?” Selina didn’t understand.
“You know your own life. You have offended someone whom you shouldn’t offend.”
Then she pivoted around and left.
Selina frowned, “Someone I shouldn’t offend?”
Selina had no idea, so she just left it all behind. When she returned to her office, Darnell came over, “This afternoon’s meeting, you come with me.”
Selina couldn’t believe it. “Me?”
Darnell nodded, “Of course. Denise has left, and you are the one who defeated her. Who else could it be? Alright, get yourself ready.”
Selina had no choice but to agree.
But it was Selina’s first time in such a meeting, so she was quite nervous. She heard that their rival firm was good too. Although her idea won in her company, it didn’t mean that she would win this time.
Just as she was thinking at the meeting room, footsteps sounded from outside the door.
It was the people from the rival firm. Selina sat straight up, but was thunderstruck when she saw them.
Manfred? So, their rival was Far Eastern Group?
“Shit! We’ll lose.” Selina whispered to Darnell.
Darnell smiled, “Well, you don’t know that.”
As soon as Manfred entered, he saw Selina whispering to Darnell. Darnell even smiled to Selina.
Manfred’s eyes darken a little. Then he quickly moved his gaze away.
