The sunlight shone through the large floor-to-ceiling windows on their bodies, adding a little warmth.
Perhaps it was because of the matter that Manfred had helped her two times. So, Selina inexplicably had a trace of closeness with him.
Her body was also very natural and was not as stiff as it previously was. Selina’s sudden gentleness completely ignited Manfred’s passion.
Manfred’s eyes darkened and he held the back of her head to move her closer to him, increasing his force of kissing.
Cola in her arms moved slightly. Selina then realized she had lost her manners.
“Mr…Mr. Gordon.”
“Call me Manfred!” Manfred murmured as if he was deluding her.
“Man…fred…”
“Um!” Manfred put down Cola that was in her hand. The little puppy that got free turned around and ran away with joy.
Manfred turned his head, held Selina’s hand again, and placed her on the sofa. He stared at her bewitching body unrestrainedly.
Selina’s face turned red and she shyly turned around.
Manfred once again turned her around, “Selina, look at me.”
As Manfred’s angular face was against the light, Selina could not see it clearly. She could not help but narrow her eyes. She looked like a lazy kitten.
The desire that was flowing in Manfred’s chest could no longer be controlled. He directly attached himself to her body.
The scene that happened next in the room made the sun felt shy.
After it ended, Selina lay in Manfred’s arms with a little shyness. She did not know why she was unconsciously drawn into doing it out of the blue.
Seeing her like this, Manfred laughed softly. The sound that resonated from his chest made Selina even more embarrassed.
“I…I’ll go to cook now.”
Hearing this, Manfred’s voice was low, “You haven’t eaten enough?”
Selina did not get what he meant for a moment, “Isn’t it that we haven’t eaten yet?”
“Hmm?” Manfred suddenly regained his energy and pressed her below him again, “It seems like I haven’t worked hard enough.”
She only then realized the fact that she had been teased again.
Selina reached out and somehow pushed him, whispering, “It’s time for you to go to work.”
“So what? I’m the boss.”
“Manfred!” Selina bit her lips and glared at him, “It’s the daytime now, you…”
Seeing that she was really shy, Manfred only then let go of her.
“You lie down a little longer. No need to cook at night, I’ll bring you to eat out.”
“Okay!” Selina nodded and watched him get dressed and leave.
After lying down for a while more, Cola ran to her feet and whimpered. Selina only then tidied up her clothes and got up. She took something to feed Cola and then took out a small basket from the storage room to make a small nest for Cola.
This kind of peaceful and tranquil feeling let Selina have a moment of trance. She felt as if her fate was starting to become better.
While making it, her phone rang.
As soon as she picked up the call, Sharon’s voice sounded, “Selina, are you still a human being? Dad only gave you a single hit but you surprisingly went to complain to Manfred?”
Selina was stunned, “What nonsense are you talking about?”
“Nonsense? If you haven’t told Manfred, how will he have known? Early this morning, he has sent someone to invite Dad to his office and has even broken a man’s leg in front of Dad. What mistake has the man done? He only kicks Manfred’s puppy once! But Manfred makes use of this to scare Dad!”
Selina inexplicably remembered that when she was dazed last night, she apparently heard Manfred’s talking about Marshall.
Thinking of the matter yesterday, Selina gritted her teeth, “So what? I think I already have nothing to do with you guys!”
Sharon was very livid and she sneered at the other end of the phone, “Selina, you’re really good, huh? After having Manfred’s support, you don’t bother everyone anymore. Do you think you’re Manfred’s lover? You’re at most a dog that has no difference from the one he has protected in the morning! I’ll be looking forward to seeing the day you’re abandoned by him.”
Selina was so angry that she hung up the phone without waiting for Sharon to finish her words.
Her palm felt itchy as Cola was licking it.
Selina looked at Cola and suddenly remembered what Sharon said. That person kicked Cola and his leg ended up being broken. Manfred was indeed Manfred. He was never a simple man.
Even if he was very gentle in front of her, it could not change the fact that the women around him would not have a good ending.
Perhaps, what Sharon said was right. Manfred did all these was just because she was his pet?
That had no difference from Cola!
It was true that she had indeed misunderstood everything. Selina smiled bitterly and put Cola back into the nest.
In the evening, when Manfred came back to fetch Selina, Selina had already changed her clothes.
“Mr. Gordon, we can go now.”
Hearing this, Manfred’s eyes darkened, “What do you call me?”
“Mr. Gordon.” Selina sagged her eyes. One year, she only had one year. It would be the greatest luck for her to live a year with a manner of respecting each other like this.
Manfred did not respond. After quite a while, he walked over and reached out to clasp her jaw, “Are you angry with me? What’s the reason?”
“No!” Selina shook her head.
“Is it because someone from the Jones family has looked for you?”
Selina was slightly stunned but she eventually still shook her head, “It’s really not.”
“Selina, don’t try to lie in front of me,” Manfred spoke indifferently.
“I won’t!” Selina laughed and said.
In the end, they did not go out. Selina cooked the meal herself. They ate in silence, entirely devoid of the warmth of noon.
Only Cola was naively running here and there but it totally did not attract any attention from its two owners.
At night, Selina fell asleep. Manfred took Selina’s phone and swiped through it.
As expected by him, there was indeed a call this afternoon. He dialled it.
Sharon’s slightly harsh voice sounded on the other end, “Selina, you apparently still have a conscience? You still know to call me? It’s to see if Dad is dead, right?”
Manfred narrowed his eyes, “Sharon!”
On the other end, Sharon froze for a second and stammered, “Man…Manfred…I…”
“It seems like I’m still too kind to the Jones family.”
“I…I…” Sharon was incoherent.
“What have you said to Selina?”
“I didn’t say anything, I…”
“Say!”
Manfred uttered this single word very fiercely. Sharon was so scared that her entire body trembled. She promptly told him the whole truth and repeated exactly the words she said today.
After that, Sharon’s pleading voice sounded, “Mr. Gordon, I’ve known my mistake, please forgive me!”
Manfred did not bother her anymore and directly hung up the phone. Even he did not do anything to such a woman like Sharon, with Marshall’s experience this morning, she was perhaps already scared to death upon hearing his call at night.
Manfred turned off the phone and looked at Selina’s sleeping face in the darkness.
No wonder her attitude suddenly changed.
Was it just because of this? Stupid woman!
