Three days later, at the Gordon Mansion, the huge study room at the second floor was furnished in modest and luxurious European style, and the pure black color theme had given out a sedate and quiet atmosphere. Lawrence leaned against the window and kept on blabbering, “Those old guys from the Gordon’s are sure good at flattering. I guess they almost exploded when they saw you coming back, yet they could still welcome you so enthusiastically, even wanted to kill the fatted calf.”
Manfred ignored him. He was holding a cigarette between her slender fingers and the lighted end of the cigarette flickered. He only spoke when Lawrence no longer made noise, “What about the person I want you to search for?” Lawrence gave him an aggrieved look. “It’s really not my fault. You know that area is under development, and there is already no more CCTV.” As he spoke, a housemaid knocked on the door from outside. “Mr. Gordon, everything is prepared downstairs, master wants you to come down.”
“I got it.”
…
In front of the Gordon’s house’s gate, Selina stood there awkwardly while staring at the ground with her eyes glazed over. She had worn a red strapless gown today which had made her skin looked paler. With her nice body figure, looks and the dress, she looked as dazzling as a red rose.
Horace nodded with satisfaction and warned her softly, “It’s a big occasion today, you better behave and not cause me any trouble. Or else, you’ll know the consequence.” After finished, he gripped Selina’s arm and took her into Gordon’s house.
Everybody likes people with good looks. Selina had attracted everyone’s attention the moment they stepped inside the house. The complacent feeling of being surrounded by other men’s envious and jealous look was what Horace wanted, therefore he held Selina tighter.
Manfred had just gone downstairs. He inevitably stopped when he looked up and saw a beautiful figure. “What are you looking at?” Lawrence asked. “Who’s that?” Following Manfred’s eyes, Lawrence saw a beauty in a red dress, “Tut, what a gorgeous being, and I actually didn’t know her? However, I know that man beside her. His name is Horace Keith, and he’s somebody in the HT Group. I heard that he’s young and capable, the company has been keeping on making achievements these few years…”
Manfred did not utter a word. His eyes once again fell onto that woman. He could still feel that pair of delicate hands moving across his body fearlessly, touching him, and his emotions rose and fell. Although he was badly injured that night, he could still not forget the way the woman sparked his excitement. He would not remember a woman, especially a woman who was as bright as a rose wrongly. And he thought he would never find her again…
The beauty he beheld had said something to Horace and then headed to the washroom. Manfred quickly said to Lawrence who was beside him, “You guys can go first. I’ll catch up with you later.” He then followed after her.
In the washroom, Selina fetched the water and rinsed her face. She felt deeply exhausted, from body to soul. Horace was a vain person. He would always take her with him every time he attended that kind of occasion all these years. She had had enough of all those men’s blatant stares, yet the Jones still needed her now. She only walked out of the washroom after touching her foundation.
At the corridor, a man was standing there with his back leaned against the wall. Although that was clearly a lethargic posture, he still managed to give out a powerful aura. Selina felt slightly startled, she then walked pass him slowly. When she passed by him, the man suddenly seized her arm. “Why? You don’t remember me anymore?”
Having heard that, Selina glanced at him carefully. He had an awe-inspiring facial feature at first look, if she had seen him before, she would not forget him. “I’m sorry. I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else.” Manfred let out a soft chuckle and said, “Is that so?” He then exerted force on his hand and pressed her against the wall. “How about this? Has anything come to your mind?”
