He’s had enough

“Daemon would really kill me if he finds us out.” Henry cleared his throat and gripped the steering wheel tightly when a group of armed men passed by their car. “Shit! He’s going to roast me alive!”
Devon just ignored his whining while sitting silently in the car, arms crossed together waiting for her parents to come out of the restaurant. She literally begged Henry to accompany her outside to the mall and then tricked him to tail her parents that she accidentally saw on the way. She could have just walked out the car and approached them to announce to them that their daughter is not dead but the old creepy old man they’re talking to inside stops her from doing so. Looking at his lopsided grin tells her he’s a nasty evil guy.
“Why have you become like this? You’re not like this Devon. You’re a sweet little obedient wife of Daemon so can you just be that sweetheart again so that we can go back now.”
“Just shut up!” she hissed at him. “Don’t be such a pussy! Where did all your testosterone go?”
“Well, they’re still here intact in my testicles about to die because I’m fucking freezing in cold right now. Why are you doing this to me? Are you making me your accomplice to betray Daemon? You know I can’t do that. I’m loyal to your husband.”
“Who’s that old man they’re talking with?” she asked, ignoring his rumble.
“That’s Joffrey. He’s your fiancé before you married Daemon.”
“For real?!” Her mouth fell open at the revelation. Her parents arranged for her to be married to this old geezer? No wonder she would have chosen to die rather than marry her. “Joffrey…” She recalled her dreams. That’s definitely not just a dream, it’s a part of her lost memory.
“They’re coming out,” she said in alert when her parents emerged out of the door without Joffrey. “Follow them, Henry. Come on.”
“What? No! You’ve already seen them. I’m taking you back home.”
He started the engine ready to leave the parking lot but she riskily opened the door to her side to go out.
“Hey, hey! What are you doing? Devon!” He managed to snatch the sleeve of her wool jacket to deter her from going out. “I thought you only wanted to see them? Why are you doing this to me, Devon?!”
“I’m going to them now if you don’t follow them. Now choose quickly.”
Huffing out a big breath, he slammed the accelerator and followed the Porsche.
“What are you doing after this?” He glanced at her tentatively. ‘Don’t tell me.”
“Just keep driving, Henry. Please.”
“Devon, at this rate, you’re going to get both of us killed. They’re not stupid. If they realize we’re tailing them, then it’s no time until they get their guns and fire at us!”
“I know, I know!” she yelled back. “I know that that’s why I’ll talk to them and I’m going to ask for help.”
“Ask for help? Your father hated you and Daemon! Why would they help you? And why am I still driving here with you?”
She didn’t respond, just saving her energy for later. The car’s sped up until they caught up with her parent’s car but just before Henry could overtake them, they skidded to a halt when a motorcycle counter flowed and cut them off.
“What the hell?! Who the fuck…” Henry’s loud voice turned into a whisper when he saw the owner of the motorcycle. “I told you we’re gonna get caught.”
Trying to fight off the fear creeping in her heart, she cleared her throat while thinking of a way out. She could lie and say they’re just going shopping because from the looks of it, he will never forgive her if she tells him the truth.
“We’re doomed. You really wanted me to be killed, Devon.” Sighing, Henry went out of the car to talk to Daemon but he just brushed him aside and went directly to her in a big fast strides. He knocked on the windshield, his lips in a grim line and his eyes were hooded from the cold fury.
“Devon, I know you’re in there. Open the window.”
Even his voice sounds like he’s ready to smash the screen. Slowly, she opened the window and met his eyes with apprehension.
“I wanted to see my parents,” she explained right away before he could even ask. “I wanted to go talk to them but I doubt if you’ll ever let me so I took the initiative.”
“Initiative,” he repeated the word furiously. “What a fancy word to use. What you did was very foolish and stupid of you! They could have shot you right away! Devon, how old are you? Haven’t you grown your brain for quite some time now?”
“Must you say that? I just wanted to talk to them. What’s wrong with that? They’re my family after all. Who knows? Maybe they could help us find Emily,” she reasoned out while holding up their gaze.
“No, they won’t.” Daemon unclenched his fists and hid them inside his pockets. “They didn’t search for you then so what makes you think they would want to help you now?”
She kept a straight face. “I’ll reserve my opinion once I talk to them. It’s not fair to judge them this early.”
Leaning forward, he angled her chin and stared right into her eyes. “Why are you doing this? I thought we’d already agreed. I have a plan, Devon. The minute you showed up in front of them, that plan was already busted.”
“Then announce it already! I’m sick of living like this, Daemon. You can’t forever lock me in your mansion. I’m a human, not your pet! And I wanted all my memories back.”
I wanted to know where Emily was. I wanted to see my baby. I wanted to hold my baby again, Daemon! My family will make me remember my life before you entered into my life.
He grinned sardonically as he stepped back to watch my expressions closely. “You really wanna do this?”
“Yes, I do.”
Nodding, his gaze drifts downward and then towards Henry.
“Don’t do anything to Henry. It’s all my fault. I threatened him into doing this,” she said when his eyes recorded a glint of danger.
He released her chin and clapped his hands against his thighs. “You’re worrying about other people when you should be worrying about yourself more. Okay then. You leave me with no choice. Everyone shall know that Devon Farrows is still alive. And then after I do that, I’m returning you back to your family since I don’t see any more reason to keep you by my side. And when you’re there in the loving arms of your family, you’ll thank me instead for keeping you in my house protected.”
Pivoting to Henry, Daemon managed to elicit out a mocking laugh. “Get back inside and drive her home. We’ll deliver the princess Farrows back into her castle.”
