She lost track of the time after she discovered a movie theater room in the mansion. So for the next couple of hours, she stayed there enjoying every movie she could find. When it’s apparent that the guests have all left, that’s when she came out of her cave to eat and sleep. It’s already past two in the morning and the whole house is like a ghost town due to its uncanny silence.
“Is the party over?” she whispered and peeked over the glass door towards the pool area. The whole place is already cleaned and back to its orderly fashion.
After eating some leftover food in the fridge, she went upstairs ready to hit the hay. She didn’t bother to turn off the lights and just jumped right into the bed but instead of the usual soft covers that welcomed her, a hard and warm flesh instead greeted her. She jumped back and screamed but whoever is lying on the bed is quicker than her.
He trapped her in his arms and covered her mouth and whispered to her ear.
“Shut up. I’m trying to sleep here.”
She relaxed a bit when she realized that it’s Daemon.
“Why are you here and could you please remove your hands away from me?”
Daemon tightened his clasp on her waist instead of doing what she asked. “This is also my bedroom. Maddy is using the guest room. I want to sleep.”
“Then you could just sleep with her. I know you sleep together so I’m cool with. It’s not like I remember how crazy I was for you.”
Wriggling, she tried to break free from his grip but to no avail. His hands just got tighter and tighter the more she struggled to shake him off.
“Shut up. Scoot over.” He made himself comfortable in the bed with her practically sprawled on top of him. Her body is imprisoned between his legs and her face is buried on his chest.
That’s when she smelled the stink of alcohol in his body.
“I can’t do this. Let go of me, you pig!”
He groaned. “I really hate it when you call me that.”
“Because you are a pig! What are you doing?!” Her eyes widened when he reversed their position and gave all his weight into her. “Dae-”
Her words drowned inside her mouth when he silenced her using his lips. The kiss is not punishing unlike their first one. It’s… there’s something worth noticing in this contact. The way he swiped his tongue over lower lip is sweet and possessive. It’s gentle but rough at times.
But just when she was about to respond, he stopped moving his lips to say a thing.
“You’re too noisy. I can’t sleep but sleeping now is the last thing on my mind,” he muttered, his lips still touching hers.
She gasped when he fully released her mouth to trail kisses into her jaw down to her neck while hands traveled down to her buttocks and squeezed them.
“Daemon, you have to stop what you’re doing! Come on, please.”
But her pleas fell on deaf ears. His uninvited hands continued exploring her body, pressing down his hardness on her, not even caring to hear any of her words.
“Daemon, you pig! Let go of me! you can’t force yourself on me!” she screamed against his face but he didn’t flinch.
He expertly unclasped her bra and threw it on the floor before letting his hands roam and cupped her breasts freely. That brought tears to her eyes. She feels so helpless as she can do nothing but just scream and cry while this man is practically sexually abusing her.
“Please, I know you hate me but don’t do this. I’m begging you. If this was how you treated Devon, then no wonder she ran away from you. With or without memories, no wife would stay with a husband like you.”
Daemon stopped kissing her neck and withdrew his hands inside her shirt. He collapsed in her arm and rolled off to the side. Hurrying to fix herself, she wiped her face and stood up from the bed.
“This is clearly an attempted rape, Daemon! You shouldn’t take advantage of my weakness!”
He sat on the bed and turned on the lights of the lampshade on the nightstand. Grinning, he crossed his arms and leaned his head on the headboard. “Weakness you say, Devon? That’s what I also thought when you first came to me, that you’re weak. Naturally, I gravitated towards you. Not long after, I discovered that you’re not as weak as you paint yourself to be. In fact, I find you to be strong. You were a Farrows after all, a kind that always persists no matter what even at the expense of other people. You survived it all. Look at you. You look good without even the money and memories. You’re living a good life despite all while I stayed in the dark wallowing in pain.”
Devon scoffed. How dare him insinuate that she has been living a good life! If only he knew the horror that she went through. “Yeah, I lived a good life, Daemon. I woke up in the hospital just fine. Sure, losing my memories, my name, my life, my identity is fun! Starting from scratch is just fine. Very fine! Not remembering is fine! Working several jobs per day is fine! Very fine, Daemon!”
She wiped her tears using the hem of her shirt. “It’s not my fault that you chose to live in that darkness. You just saw how resilient I am and interpreted it as good living but you weren’t there during my true darkest hours. I’ve said it once Daemon and I will say this again, there’s a reason why I don’t remember my past. I just know that you’re one of them. I’ve moved on without recalling it back. Maybe you try to move on too.”
“Move on?” he forced the words out of his mouth. “There’s no moving on Devon until I find my daughter!”
“Now you’re calling him your daughter but from what I’ve heard you didn’t like her at all. You wanted a son, not a daughter so why search for her? So that she would inherit your empire? Your empire of what? Your business is nothing to be proud of because it’s built on the blood of your enemies. It’s something to be embarrassed of! If only you inherited your father’s business then maybe, just maybe, you’d grow up as a decent man.”
