I blink my eyes as the morning sun stones my face, adjusting my sight I noticed that I was in a hospital bed. My eyes felt blurry as I noticed a figure sitting beside me.
“You awake…..?”
I know that voice is Lucien but what is he doing here? He was supposed to be with Derrick and Nicholas but why is he in here? Please don’t tell me that Derrick and Nicholas are in there. My heart throbs as the thought of waking up and meeting them here scars me, I bite my lips to avoid answering him.
“Hey, Luna, are you awake……?” He kept pushing. I refused to open up or talk.
“Hmmm…..” He mumbled, “You don’t have to be scared I came alone, none of the brothers are here so feel free……”
Slowly opening my eyes, I indirectly glanced in every corner to ensure that none of the twins were in there before focussing my attention on him.
“Hey…….” With a faint voice, I muttered.
“Luna…..” He submissively bowed down before raising his head, “How are you feeling now…?”
“I am fine, dear thank you,” I mumbled.
“Oh!….” He drawled, “I am happy to hear that…..”
“Thanks…..” I forced out a smile.
“You sure that you’re not feeling any pain again,” he muttered.
“No, I am fine, dear….” I lied. My whole body aches and hurts like hell, it feels as if my body has been peeled with a silver blade.
“I am happy to see that you are fine….”
“Thanks but why are you here?” I narrowed my eyes at him.
“The thing is that…..
“Please don’t tell me that they send you….” I cut him off before he should finish.
“Please, calm down…….
” Look, don’t tell me to calm down, just go on and answer me now,” using my Luna authority I commanded. I know that without that Lucien wasn’t going to open up.
Looking defeated with his head cast down, he murmured “I was sent by Derrick since he couldn’t……
“SEND BY WHO!!……..” Sitting upwards, I snapped.
“Please calm down, let me explain,” he pleads.
“EXPLAIN WHAT!” I loudly muttered.
Swallowing, he glanced at me “Please let me explain why he sent me here,”
“There is nothing for you to explain….
” Now get out,” I screamed.
“NOW!!…..” I lashed at him as he tried opening his mouth to talk.
Standing up, he muttered “Just bear it in mind that he cares deeply for you, he wanting a space doesn’t mean that he doesn’t crave and need you…….
” He sent me here because he knows waking up and meeting him here won’t be any good but he just can’t leave you in here like that…….. So he sent me to stay here till you wake up,” he finishes as my heart melts at every damn minute.
“And you stayed….?” I asked despite knowing the answer to my question.
“Even if he didn’t send me I will gladly be here with you not because you are my Luna but because you deserve to be happy…….” He says.
“Sit down, Lucien,” with a smiley face, I mumbled.
“It will be an honor,” he instantly muttered, causing me to smile. I just needed someone to talk with though I kind of look and sound weak but I needed company. In this kind of situation I miss Angel like mad because I don’t need to tell her what to do to put a smile on my face, she always has her way.
“From my observation, it looks like you have been friends with the twins for years now……” I muttered since I didn’t know what to do or say.
Noticing my uneasiness, he smiled and waved it away. “We have known each other since childhood……..”
“I thought that mates were supposed to love each other….?” I needed someone to open up to since Angel wasn’t around, the burden was too much that I can’t endure for long. He seemed like a nice person and that’s why I wanted to talk with him. It looks like he will understand my misery more than anyone else. The reason for this is something that I still don’t know.
“Yes, mates were meant to love and cherish each other but some don’t even care about your existence; rather they stab and push you like you meant nothing like the moon goddess makes a mistake……” he emotionally muttered as sadness flickered on his eyes. He seemed dull and hurt which pains me but the confusing part is that he speaks as if he has been in that kind of situation.
“Have you found your mate……?” I suddenly asked. He shortly smiled as a painful smile crawled up his face.
“Did your mate reject you?” I kept pushing.
Chewing his mouth to control his emotions, he focuses his attention back on me “I wish that she did….
” I WISH THAT SHE REJECTED ME INSTEAD OF TORTURING ME IN THIS MANNER!!….” He yelled with pain and hurt. I allowed him to continue to let out his pain and anger. I know that he has no one to talk to, that he has been carrying it all over his shoulders for so long that he couldn’t carry it anymore since it is too heavy for him to stand.
“But the worst part is that I love her and fear rejection. She so much wanted a rejection but I refused…… I have done everything on this earth to put a smile on her face but all I got as a payback is a disgusted look from her and how we were not meant for each other,” he spits with pain, he sounds like he wasn’t enough like he was worthless and this fucking hurts me.
“Hey, Lucien, calm down,” I smoothly muttered. But who could resist this charming prince in my front though he was no match for the twin brothers at least he is presentable, jovial, and kind to be around. I have closely observed him and I know that he is a good person.
“I don’t think I can be calm….. My heart is too heavy and it wedges me down every single minute,” he sadly whispered.
“I am so sorry for that, Lucien….” I mumbled.
“It is not your fault, Luna,” he muttered.
“We are also passing through the same thing, it is just that you wanted to reject them when I don’t want the same thing…….” He let out a bitter laugh.
“Yeah……” I tiredly proclaimed.
“I care and that’s why I feel bad that you are passing through this but who is this girl….?”
“Never mind, She is not important…” he drawled.
“No, don’t say that….. Whoever that is your mate is way important,” I expressed.
“Whatever….” He muttered.
“Luna, thanks for hearing me out, I felt like a burden has been lifted from me…..” With a delightful smile, he appreciates it.
“It is my pleasure…” I said with a small smile.
The door was pulled open as doctor Maramark entered inside with something that seemed like a file in his hand. “Good day, Luna and our beta……” he greeted with a small smile.
“Good day to you too, doctor,” Lucien and I said in unison.
“I am here to see Luna if you might excuse our beta,” Maramark said.
“Ok, no problem….” He muttered, “it is nice talking with you, Luna,” he mumbled before exiting.
After Lucien left, I turned my attention to the doctor. I watched as he moved to a nearby chair and sat down. “How are you feeling today?”
“I am more than fine it is just that I am feeling weak, tired, and in pain all over my body.
” It’s just a normal thing, Luna,” he muttered with a smile.
“How? What do you mean?” I confusingly muttered.
“From the test carried on, we were happy to announce that the baby was still intact…..” He declared though it was a hint of sadness in his tone, that everybody in the pack knows the problem going on between me and the twins.
“Yeah, I am happy……” I mumbled.
“WHAT!!…” I surprisingly screamed as that’s when what he said dawned on me.
“Yes, congrats…. the pup is safe and good even with the accident that just occurred to you but you have to be extra careful not to lose the baby in case of next time,” he uttered.
“I…… I….. a……m….. pre…. in…an…. t,” I stammered as the word felt heavy for me to wrap around my head.
“How due is it……” I barely whispered with a throbbing heart.
“From the test, it is two months,” he said with his eyes fixed on me.
“That means that I am two months pregnant…” I uttered with disbelief.
“Yes, you are pregnant, dear…..”
“No! No! ……” wiggling my head, “Tell me that you are joking, doctor,”
“Just tell me that you are joking! Tell me that you are joking!…..” I screamed as tears welled in my eyes, this can’t be possible. I can’t possibly be carrying their pup, no way! I am doomed. What should I do? I am messed up.
“I can’t be joking about this, though I understand your fear it is well….” Maramark muttered.
“No!! You don’t understand and it won’t be well, apparently not now….. Now that baby is on the way!!” I am screwed, where do I start from? I can’t be pregnant.
