Chapter Seventeen(My family visitation)

Book:Mated to The Twin Alphas Published:2024-6-3

Mira’s Pov:
Filing my nails while sitting on my bed, what Angel told me the other day flooded my mind. I was warned to be careful of a red nasal head girl Nengi, even the mention of the name sends chills to my bones. I haven’t met her already and I pray we never cross paths. I stared as the omegas were busy running around and making sure that everything was ready for my wedding.
Tonight is the full moon, I will be getting married to Nicholas. I signed the hundredth time as I stared out of the window, pain flickering in my eyes, and my heart felt heavy. I will finally get married to the guy that cares nothing about me though he was my mate. It hurts to find myself in this kind of situation.
I have decided to shove the strange feelings I have for Derrick out of my mind. Though it wasn’t easy. But I have to stop this madness, I can’t be attracted to the name of a guy I haven’t met before or even crave a guy that I haven’t seen and the worst part is craving for Nicholas’s twin brother.
“When did I become a slut..?” I asked myself
“I wasn’t brought up like this…to fancy my husband’s brother,” I tried giving myself a hundred reasons for not wanting Derrick.
Though I feel a sensation of peace overwhelmed me by the mention of the name but I can’t allow that to get to me. I can’t be deceived by that, for he might be worse than Nicholas. I ran my fingers on the wedding gown placed for me in the wardrobe, Virginia has taken it upon herself to find me a wedding gown, she plans on making my wedding a splendid one.
Though the gown looks gorgeous. But I don’t feel happy about all this, my heart bleeds to picture my life with Nicholas. I don’t think he will even consider me worthy as his wife talks more of his mate based on the amount of hatred that always flickers in his eyes when he looks at me.
“Maybe he loves Nengi,” I mumbled.
“I am sure that I am nothing compared to her,” I mumbled sadly.
“Hey put yourself together…mate will want us,” Heaven muttered.
“You stop giving yourself false hope,” I said, hurtfully to her. The door flew open as Angel walked in, she spared a glance at me and cleared her throat several times before walking up to me. She gave me a pitiful look but masked it up immediately with a fake smile.
“Your families are here to see you,” she said to me, and I instantly gaped at her.
“My families, as my parents and siblings….. No way!!” I said in disbelief.
“So they finally came to see me get married to that monster…. How shameless,” I muttered painfully. It hurts to see my parents behind my misery, I curled my fists tight and instantly closed my eyes to avoid tears trailing down.
“Yes, your whole family is here. They are downstairs waiting for you,” Angel said. I forced my eyes open, trying very hard not to shed tears but who am I kidding, I noticed a tear roll down my cheeks. Angel wiped it off with a smile.
“I know you will be happy to meet your family not after staying here for weeks without them,” she cheerfully said to me.
“Umm……” I gave her a fake smile, she gestured for us to leave. “How am I to tell her that meeting my family is one thing that I hate most, that my parents sold me off and forced me into this marriage because of their selfish interest”
They turned my once happy life into my worst nightmare, it hurts that my dreams got shattered. Pretending to be happy and strong every passing day wasn’t easy, I pretended to be happy every day as if nothing happened but I knew deep down that I needed a cuddle, I needed a shoulder to lean on. I needed someone to uplift this burden from me, I needed a warm embrace and someone to assure me that all will be well.
I just wanted to crawl under my bed and cry my eyes out, I walk with Angel down to the waiting room as I stare in shock at how the whole pack has been transformed into a paradise. The whole place looks amazing but it hurts that this is a total waste of time as this is a loveless marriage.
“How do you see this?” Angel said, pointing to the decorations and other stuff.
“Is cool…” I shrugged my shoulders and said nonchalantly.
“Just cool!…?” She asked in total disbelief.
“Was she expecting to hear something else…?” I signed and continued my walk.
“I don’t know how you feel but you need to be happy for today is your day and I am going to make sure that you enjoy it. I heard that the brides always feel uneasy on the day of their wedding so I understand how you feel…. But don’t worry, for I am here to cheer you up,” she kept blabbering.
“Ouch…. can’t you just shut up,” I said angrily.
“Fine but just be sure that I won’t sit and watch you angry and leave you alone…… come on, I know that you are not happy that something is eating you up but always bear in mind that no matter what, no matter the situation I will always be there for you,” she said with a smile but there is a tinge of seriousness on it, I stare happily at her for she knew exactly the way I feel and what I needed right now for someone to show that she cares.
“Thank you….” I mumbled.
“Is nothing but anyway you welcome … . for I don’t get that kind of gesture every day,” she said jokingly causing me to laugh out loud.
“Looks like someone is happy,” she teases.
We continue our chit-chat and fun jokes, the pack members stare at us like we did lose it because of our loud laugh. Some stare at me like I am degrading myself to be seen laughing with an omega, a low life because that’s how they always describe an omega. I shrugged it off because Angel was more like a sister to me, she understands me despite all my flaws, and she was always there for me. She sees the potential in me and has always told me how strong and beautiful I am, she sees me as her role model and prototype. She never fails to put a smile on my face, unlike the so-called families that sold me out because of their selfish interests.
