This was the truth in Eloise Thompson’s mind, she had always thought Egbert Chumley was brilliant and that such a gentle and handsome man, who had built the company herself, would meet a better woman.
Egbert Chumley stroked her head, smiled and said, “Silly girl, what nonsense! You’re tired too, go back and rest first!”
How could Egbert Chumley not hear what Eloise Thompson was saying, but he didn’t want to give up even if his hopes were slim?
“Well, Egbert you too, get back to bed early.”
Egbert Chumley nodded, and then Eloise Thompson left the spot and headed for the hotel.
Looking at the girl’s back, Egbert Chumley looked a little complicated for a moment. Having been reunited for so long, he knew more or less what was going on with Eloise Thompson.
After breaking up with Robbie Gardner, being kicked out by the Thompson family and caring for her seriously ill mother on her own … for all these years, she has not been as happy as she thought she would be, yet on the contrary it has been difficult.

He knew that Eloise Thompson would not say yes to Egbert Chumley’s advances, but he was still upset that Eloise Thompson had such an Egbert, that they had known each other for a long time, that Egbert Chumley still liked her, and that now he was superficial with Eloise Thompson in front of himself.
Hector Rogers is jealous and Eloise Thompson is his man.

Sitting in the lift, Eloise Thompson’s mind was still a bit scrambled, although Egbert Chumley told himself not to feel any burden, but how could he!
She knew well the nature of Egbert Chumley, a man who would certainly not give up easily, and Eloise Thompson didn’t even know how she was going to face her Egbert before.

Eloise Thompson hung her eyes, Hector Rogers had already left with Reeva Lawson when she came out herself, and it was not clear whether he had gone somewhere with Reeva Lawson or back to the hotel.
Eloise Thompson then cursed herself for thinking so awkwardly that she and Egbert weren’t going to make it, and she and Hector Rogers weren’t going to make it.
She doesn’t give any hope than people nor should she give any hope to herself.
With that thought, Eloise Thompson intended to return to her room, but who knew that the door to the room in front of her opened and Hector Rogers stood inside, and before Eloise Thompson could react, she was dragged inside and the room’s was then closed.
There were no lights on in the room, the vision was dim, Eloise Thompson was pinned against the doorway and before she could say anything, Hector Rogers was kissing her on the lips.
Eloise Thompson’s eyes widened as the man’s scent hit her face, lips entwined, this one he poured out like a storm, seemingly with a hint of punishment.
“Well …”
He seemed to be smoking and Eloise Thompson vaguely felt the faint scent of tobacco, her whole body was enveloped in a dominant masculine scent and Eloise Thompson’s body soon went limp.
It took an unknown amount of time before Hector Rogers slowly ended the kiss, but with his arm still around Eloise Thompson’s waist, the man’s low, magnetic voice inquired, “Have you agreed to Egbert Chumley’s advances?”
Eloise Thompson tried to push him away, the man’s scent was so aggressive it was hard to breathe and his heart was racing.
“You let go of me first!”
Hector Rogers pressed closer, just not letting go of Eloise Thompson and continued to speak, “Answer my question first, did you say yes to Egbert Chumley’s advances?”
Although the lights were not on, Eloise Thompson was clearly aware of the man’s dark eyes staring intently at her, as if she was about to kiss her again if she didn’t answer.
Eloise Thompson was stunned and rushed to speak up, “No … I didn’t say yes.”
She doesn’t like Egbert Chumley, so why should she say yes.
Despite knowing the outcome, a glint of joy passed over Hector Rogers’ brow.
“Really?”
“Really.” Eloise Thompson nodded.
“Why don’t you accept it?”
“Nothing, it’s just not on my mind.” A glint of heart flashed under Eloise Thompson’s eyes, and if the lights were on now, you could see that she still looked a little flustered.
The corner of Hector Rogers’ mouth ticked slightly as his mellow voice spoke, “Is it true that you don’t have the heart for a relationship, or is there something else tied up inside?”
Eloise Thompson’s heart was beating out of her chest, but she kept her mouth shut and said, “What are you talking about? I don’t have any ties.”
“Really?” Hector Rogers said with a twinkle in his eye and leaned in to her ear.
There was a tingling sound in her ears and Eloise Thompson’s whole face flushed but said with forced composure, “True … true.”
“You’re not being honest.” Hector Rogers laughed and then let go of Eloise Thompson and spoke in a domineering tone, “No yes is good, you’re mine if you dare say yes to someone else’s confession …”
The latter words were not uttered by Hector Rogers, and Eloise Thompson only felt that the consequences were expected to be dire, but thinking back to the words you are mine just now, her heart felt as if something had hit her and she looked a little flustered.
Eloise Thompson spoke up in a hurry, “It’s getting late, I’m going to go back to bed.”
Just as she was about to leave, Hector Rogers took her by the wrist.
“Wait, there’s something for you.”
Eloise Thompson was a little puzzled when she just saw Hector Rogers turn on the light and, out of nowhere, pull out a velvet box with a very nice brooch lying inside.
“I saw it out today and it suited your vibe, so I bought it.” Hector Rogers spoke up.
The brooch did look very much in keeping with her vibe, but Eloise Thompson took one look at it and knew it was worth a lot of money, so she shook her head no.
Knowing she’d say no, Hector Rogers spoke up, “Consider it a gift in return! You bought Solomon a bunch of stuff, didn’t you?”
“How do you know?” Eloise Thompson spoke with some confusion.
Hector Rogers laughed, “Those robots, they can’t be yours to play with, can they?”
Eloise Thompson had no choice but to go under, only to feel that she had taken advantage again, and then only to hear Hector Rogers speak again and ask, “When do you plan to return?”
“Things have been talked over for the project and the manager has taken two days off, so we’ll hang out for a day tomorrow and go back the day after.” Eloise Thompson opened her mouth in response.
Before he could respond, only to see Hector Rogers grab his jacket and car keys and speak, “In that case, I’ll show you around.”
After saying that, he dragged Eloise Thompson out the door.
Eloise Thompson was dumbfounded and wanted to say no, what was the point of going out shopping now?
