Serenity looked at Nicolai, everything felt silent but their eyes spoke.
She stood up from the seat but Nicolai turned on his heels and left.
“Looks like you have something to take care of.”
Albert chuckled.
Serenity handed the baby back to Linda and sharp pain rose in her forehead when their future flashed in front of her eyes.
Misery, that’s what Ellen said.
‘Linda cried loudly while running away with the baby like her life is dependent on it. She is running away from the Albert. He was second away from catching her but suddenly he was thrown back, his stomach sliced with deep cut and blood pulled around his body… Linda saw it, she stopped but her crying baby compelled her to leave her mate behind… She chose the baby… Albert was lying on the ground’
Serenity was pulled back into the reality when baby cried. She didn’t tell her anything because she can’t mess with the nature’s law.
“You have done enough, Albert…”
Serenity looked at him.
“You don’t have much time left…”
“To kill me, you have to loose everything again…”
He Smirked.
“My death will take you back where you started…”
She ignored his words and walked out. She tried to look for Nicolai but he was gone.
She went back to the campus.
“Nicolai”
She called him when she saw him walking inside.
He stopped but didn’t turn around to look at her. He saw serenity going out and decided to follow her but never thought that he will hear something like that.
Serenity stood in front of him, they stared at each other. Her words stuck in her throat.
“Whatever you heard, is not the whole truth.”
She said looking at his sad eyes.
He sighed rubbing his forehead.
“I don’t know… You tell me”
He said looking at her.
“I don’t want to repeat my mistake, this time I want to trust you… I want to hear it from you…”
He stated.
“Was he saying truth or not?…”
“I can explain”
She said.
“Truth or not serenity?”
He asked in a serious tone.
She Gulped.
“It was true.”
She declared and pain flashed on his face.
He smiled bitterly.
“You fucked me because you wanted to show him?…”
Her heart clenched in pain when she saw his hurt smile and glossy eyes.
“I thought we are back together… You have forgive us and everything is fine. Our daughter is back, my love is back.”
She looked down in Guilt.
Tear escaped from his eyes.
“He is winning, Sera… He is breaking us or may be you are breaking us.”
He said making her look at him.
“I know whatever happened was wrong, we were wrong and we regret it… We are trying everything to make it right. What else you want us to do… We were under spell, serenity. We didn’t hurt you intentionally… But what are you doing?… It feels like i am have really lost my serenity, my kitten… She wasn’t like this”
He shook his head.
“She wasn’t this heartless… She was sweet, innocent and a bundle of joy… She wouldn’t have done something like this…”
“I did it to deal with him”
She mumbled with glossy eyes.
“This is not your personal matter. He has hurt my daughter too, this is my war too… You could have tell us, we would have handle it together…”
He said trying to hide his hurtful voice behind his strict tone.
“Do whatever you want serenity… I have realised that i hold no place in your life, may be just a pawn in your game. That’s how you used me today…. You will not hear anything from me again.”
He said in cold voice and walked away.
Serenity rubbed her face frustratingly. It hurt. She knows that she was wrong but she did what she had too not realising that it was a trap.
“I don’t know who is winning… Even after trying it’s still slipping from my hands like a sand…”
She sighed.
Serenity sat on the bench in the garden quietly.
‘what to do… Till now i wanted them to know the truth, that i didn’t kill Angel. I was dying to see them, wanted to clear misunderstanding. Last hundred years, i was restless for one kiss of love. And now when it’s all clear, why i am behaving like this… I was hurt but they are hurt too… They are victims too… I ruining everything again, am i being selfish…’
“Sera…”
She tilted her head and saw Vincent standing beside the bench.
“Did something happened with Nicolai… He is behaving weird…”
He sat beside her.
Serenity looked down guiltily.
Vincent caressed her cheek and kissed her forehead. Her heart melted and became heavy at the same time.
“I am so happy that you forgive us… You can’t imagine how much I need you in my life…”
He rested his forehead on hers and her eyes turned glossy.
“My heart is still restless… Assure me that everything is fine again. We are together because it’s feeling like a dream…”
“Vincent…”
Her throat tightened.
“I hurt Nicolai…”
She confessed.
He frowned and looked at her confused. Serenity told him everything and Vincent was sitting there like a statue.
She didn’t look into his eyes. But the silence from him was stabbing her heart.
“Nicolai have the soft heart among three of us.”
Vincent finally broke the silence.
“Lucifer had to act thought because he was born few seconds before than us. He had to act big brother. I am middle child, had to act mature for my brothers but Nicolai was last and we did everything to protect him… As a big brothers we did everything to keep him happy, we didn’t let him linger in the darkness like we did… That explains his joyful behavior, not like us… He has more humanity than us… He was rebel but i saw him becoming mature when he saw you. He became responsible… I don’t know how is he dealing with it but he must be hurt.”
Vincent closed his eyes.
“I don’t know how to react on this, i am blank… You were the last person i was expecting this to do… But may be you were thinking something, you had something in mind… I know you will never hurt any of us intentionally… I want to believe in you…”
She can feel the heaviness in his voice.
“It’s between you two… It’s on you how to deal with it but as a brother i request you, don’t hurt Nicolai…”
He stood up to leave.
“We have suffered too, all these years wasn’t easy for us… I agree that these were worst for you but we all have suffered… I don’t know what’s in your mind but can’t we just end this. It’s in your hands that what kind of life you want to give us all…”
He sighed and walked away.
Serenity palmed her face and sat there defeated.
Suddenly she heard scream. Her eyes snapped towards the direction when she recognised the voice.
“Angel”
Serenity went towards the direction with the speed of wind.
She reached the spot, middle of the forest. Where protectors were teaching Angel self defence. Triggering her Power so can fight for herself.
Serenity’s eyes landed on Angel who was on the ground, deeply sliced stomach and pool of blood.
She got the deja vu. She saw the same condition of Albert when she saw Linda’s future.
