Chapter 15 Lost and Regained

The car stopped at the gate of Davies’ old house. The moat rippled in the moonlight.
With a cold face, Luna pushed the door open, went straight to the back seat and took out her bag. She strode toward the old house without a word of greeting or even a look at Ivan.
Ivan sat in the car awkwardly and exhaled deeply. After Luna’s figure disappeared, he stepped on the accelerator to leave.
It was dark. People who were busy had already collapsed into the dream. At the gate of Palace Hotel, the black SUV never left.
Brian was staring at the door of the hotel with his deep eyes. The man’s fists were clenched tightly and then slowly lowered.
What the hell! He clearly watched her going in. Did it take so long to have a meal?
On the one hand, Brian was not reconciled. On the other hand, he felt that he must go crazy. He was waiting for a strange woman who he didn’t even know her name.
Through the contact just now, he vaguely felt that she was the charming woman who brought him infinite passion five years ago. Although he left first the next day, the girl was still in a coma because of the wanton night, so he was able to see her face seriously and carefully.
After such a long time, the alluring woman had been deeply rooted in his memory. She had disappeared from his world again before he could recall the lost-and-regained joy.
Damn it!
Was this woman born to torture him?
Brian felt a severe blow on his self-esteem, when he witnessed the closing of the hotel. He had no choice but to step on the accelerator abruptly and leave the parking lot of Palace Hotel.
The next day, Davies Group
Davies’ elite team had been waiting for a long time before the elevator for president on the top floor of Davies’ building opened. They nodded and greet respectfully to the man who came out in business attire.
Brian, in a handmade Italian suit, nodded to his subordinates and walked out of the elevator with steady steps.
When he stepped out of the elevator, the team behind him immediately kept up with his pace and began to report today’s work.
First of all, Lily Smith, the Chief Secretary of Brian, stepped forward and walked side by side with Brian, holding a pile of documents in her hand and saying, “Mr. Davies, your itinerary today is as follows…”
After the report, she raised her eyebrows slightly, looking at the tall and handsome boss’s side face, waiting for his order.
Until Brian nodded, she knew she could retreat.
Brian put one hand in the pocket of his suit pants, the other hand toward the back, and he snapped his fingers handsome. It seemed that this was really a world of weighing appearance. As long as the face looked good, even exposing unserious look sometimes, the person was still charming sexy.
The director of the Planning Department stepped forward and said, “Mr. Davies, the advertising agency broke the contract last month and changed the model privately. After you learned about it, you immediately terminated the contract with them. And the model came to the company today and said that she wanted to see you and asked our company to compensate her for her lost labor expenses.”
Brian frowned slightly, and his face showed a little displeased.
In fact, it was a trivial thing. Brian was not a stingy miser. As long as the other party mentioned this matter with the staff in the Finance Department, he would pay all the money he had obligations to pay. However, she even came to his company to make trouble. Obviously, she didn’t take the Davies seriously, let alone Brian.
The man stopped and turned to face the staff with a creepy smile.
“If she comes again, you can tell her I want to ask her ‘does she want to stay engaged in the career?'”
“Yes.” Understanding his meaning, the director of the Planning Department nodded and went back to his work.
By this time, Brian had reached at the door of the president’s office. Another staff member stepped forward, also holding some documents, which were urgently needed to be signed by Davies’ top executive officer.
“Mr. Davies, this is a cooperation contract for the gorge coast project. You are required to have a look at it and sign it.”
The staff spread out the materials. Brian stopped walking and turned over the documents casually with his slender hands. In only a few seconds, his hawk-liked eyes had mastered the general contents of the documents. He took out his gold pen from the pocket of his suit and signed his name quickly and fluently at the bottom of those documents.
He walked to his president office and he just stood outside the door, but didn’t hasten to open the door.
Ben Harris, his special assistant, stepped forward and opened the door.
Brian’s face showed a trace of satisfaction and said, “If there isn’t anything else, I’d like to stay in the office by myself.”
His subordinates nodded and retreated.
Brian walked into the office with long legs.
Although Brian was the same as usual, only Ben, the special assistant closest to him, could see that his president wasn’t in a high spirit today, like having stayed up late last night.
He followed Brian into the office and closed the door.
When Brian entered the office, he took off his neat suit coat. Ben took it without saying a word, and propped it up with a high-end hanger and put it in the closet on one side.
Brian loosened his tie, which constricted his neck. Ben stepped forward, handed over a stack of documents, and said, “These are submitted by HR. Please have a look at the list of candidates for the post of translator.”
The man’s delicate eyebrows slightly rose. He pulled over the boss chair with one hand, “You can handle these small things by yourself. You don’t have to report everything to me.”
It seemed that there was a faint impatience in his language.
“Yes.” Ben nodded.
At this time, Brian had been sitting steadily on the chair and began to prepare for his daily work. After considering, he said, “Forget it, I’ll take a look.”
He didn’t want the new staff to be someone who can do nothing but eat and drink. Brian could ignore some unimportant things. Nevertheless, for the selection of Davies’ important staff, he would do it himself.
Brian took the document from Ben’s hand and threw it on the mahogany desk.
Ben made a cup of moderate coffee for the president as usual before leaving the office.
Brian sipped the fragrant coffee. The man’s deep black eyes fell carelessly on the stack of resumes in front of him. A small part of a photo was exposed to him because of his casual throwing.
In the photo, the woman’s hair was in a center parting style, setting off the delicate face more beautiful. The woman attracted his eyes in an instant.
