Book:Fated to the Alpha Published:2024-6-3

“Hey, don’t be scared. We won’t harm you. You should go with your mate. If anything, Alpha will protect you.” he tells her, but she flinches at the sound of his voice.
I’m over this back and forth game. I take a step toward her, and she does as I expect, she bolts.
Zane darts in front of her hands out, and she pivots, skidding and ripping up the grass with her claws. But that one brief second of hesitation from her is all I need to pounce on her.
She yelps, the sound so tortured I actually think I hurt her as she thrashes against me. My arms wrap around her torso. Her teeth and claws rip into my arms right before she twists her body in a weird angle and bites my face.
My blood splatters all over her and the ground. I growl at her, feeling both furious and confused. Who would attack their mate like this?
I sit down, holding her tightly against my chest, and tilt my head to keep my face away from her razor-sharp canines. Initially, I planned to wait until she got tired and stopped resisting – the only problem is that she doesn’t. Her teeth find more access to my body and sink into my bicep as she tears a chunk of skin off.
“Stop. Please, stop fighting,” I tell her, but it’s no use. I repeat my pleas in the most gentle tone I can muster in this situation, but she keeps struggling. No matter what I say or do, she refuses to stop. I look at Zane and growl. “Get it.”
She has done this to herself.
“Alpha, no,” Zane pleads for her, shaking his head and taking a step back. Hasn’t he noticed that she isn’t giving me any other choice?
“I said get it now!” I growl at Zane. A loud whimper escapes him as my command crushes his free will. I hate using my Alpha voice, but if everything else fails, I have no other choice.
Zane rushes off, and a few minutes later, he returns with a muzzle in his hand. My wild mate managed to tear me to shreds, and as a result, my skin is stinging from her constant attacks.
When she notices Zane return, she thrashes harder, biting and scratching any part of me she can reach. Her back paws dig into my stomach and her claws slice through me. I squeeze her tighter, attempting to stop her. My own claws sink into her ribs by accident, and she whimpers.
“Just stop fighting, and I won’t have to put it on you,” Zane pleads with her, trying his best to make her see reason. His words don’t affect her. In fact, I don’t think she hears him in this state.
She is so frantic. I don’t want to, but I am left out of options. If I don’t restrain her, my little gray wolf will find more ways to sink her teeth and claws into my body.
“Can I touch her?” Zane asks, and I nod at him. I tighten my hold around her body as Zane slips the muzzle over her head. He is about to adjust it, but somehow she gets him too.
She fucking bites his goddamn finger, even with a muzzle on her. This woman is something else.
I growl at her as Zane’s blood runs down his arm. He moves away from her, though he heals quickly, but I understand the need to keep a safe distance. I mean, look at me, I am bleeding everywhere from her gouging me.
With great effort, I manage to get back on my feet and head toward the house. She’s a ball of endless energy because she keeps thrashing in my arms even as we get to the main door.
I place her on the ground and keep my hand on the scruff of her neck. I made the mistake of underestimating her once already. There’s no way I’m doing that again.
While she still keeps resisting and attempts to pull away from me, I wipe the blood from my hand against my pants the best I can. I place my hand on the digital pad to open the door.
When I hear the lock, I grab her again and toss her half over my shoulder. Her back legs somehow still manage to reach my body as she kicks me and trashes against my hold.
I pull the door open and step inside. As soon as I close the door, I place her down on the floor. She looks petrified, her tail disappears as she tucks it between her legs. Her entire body is trembling, and her fur hackles up as she growls. Why did the Goddess think it was a good idea to pair me with this little miss growly?
“Enough! If you weren’t my mate, I would kill you for biting me like a fucking savage!” I snap at her.
“Real smooth, scare her more, you fucking caveman,” Donnie growls in my head.
I ignore his remark. The last thing I need is a fucking wolf telling me what I can or can’t do.
Donnie, however, doesn’t take my lack of response kindly. “Want a club to wack her with? Once she’s out of it, you can haul her to your cave. Seriously, Andrei, what the fuck is wrong with you? She is fucking scared. You would bite too,” he keeps whining.
Now, that hits a nerve. I have been more than patient with that feral she-wolf, so Donnie has nothing on me here. I growl at him, hoping it will be enough to get him off my back.
Not what I expect to happen but the gray wolf presses closer to the stairs and the ground.
“I didn’t growl at you,” I sigh and run a hand over my face. “I need to shower, look around, but don’t think you can escape. The only way out is that door, and unless you remove my hand, you are not getting out.” I warn her before stepping over, where she cowers on the bottom step. I slowly walk up the steps.
“Ring, Kat,” Donnie growls at me.
“Let me shower first, and then I will,” I assure my wolf.
I can hear her downstairs, trying to get the muzzle off, until she suddenly goes silent. I know she must have shifted to use her hands. Although I could do something, I choose to ignore the fact. Besides, there’s no way she can escape the confines of my house.
I shower quickly. Once I’m done and the bathroom is filled with a light mist from the boiling hot water, I step out of the shower, reach for the towel, and wrap it around my waist. Striding out of the bathroom, I reach for my mobile on the nightstand beside the bed and dial Kat’s number.
