Maddox tears into Nicolas, and Derrick squares up with Andrei, using his wife’s moves as he darts in and out of range and bites the bigger Alpha. For every blow the Alpha manages to inflict, Derrick delivers one back, until both wolves are covered in injuries and wounds.
I spot Jasmine rushing toward us out of the corner of our eyes, she raises the dart gun, firing four into Andrei, he grunts from the impact, but still keeps going. A fearsome Alpha brute indeed. How Jasmine can aim accurately without hitting Derrick is beyond me. She turns, and I duck out of the way as the gun clicks, and the darts smash into Nicolas’s chest as he tries to sink his teeth into me, before falling limp on top of me.
Derrick rips him off me, and we stand, Derrick’s wolf drops his head, and pushes us upright. Yet when Shirley dashes toward us, Maddox growls at her.
“She just saved our life, Maddox,” I scold him, yet he still growls before taking a step toward her, Derrick, however, shoves in front, blocking him and growling back in warning, they may have issues, but Derrick will still fight for her.
“She is still my mate and Kat’s mother,” he mindlinks. Shirley stares at him, and he looks at her before turning back to me. “Get to your mate,” Derrick orders, and I look around to find only a few wolves left, Mathias and Jasmine are still taking them down with the tranquilizers.
Maddox shifts back, yet still refuses to hand over control. Mathias shrieks when he sees our injuries that are slowly healing. Using my hand, Maddox places it on my stomach to prevent my organs from falling out and holding our mutilated flesh together.
“Ezra here,” Mathias says, and Maddox looks at him. Mathias takes a step back, looking him over. Maddox’s senses are on edge with all men, even those mated. “Sorry, Alpha, I thought you were Ezra,” he says, noticing Maddox still has control. He bared his neck in submission.
“I’m fine, thanks to Shirley,” he grumbles, looking at her. As much as he hates the words, it is true, as much as he hates her, we owe her for saving our life.
Maddox limps to the car before pulling on the handle. However, it is locked, so he punches the window on the passenger side. The glass shatters, and he rips the door completely off the glove compartment and retrieves the spare remote. “How does it work?” He asks me.
“The yellow button will undo just the door shutter,” I answer, and he presses it before turning on his heel and heading for the house.
“Maddox, give me control, please, Mateo is in there with her, if you hurt him, I won’t forgive you,” I threaten, yet he ignores me, trying to shove me back.
Maddox stops when he spots Jasmine running into the arms of another, he sniffs the air. “She is marked, and not by Mateo,” Maddox growls, walking over to her.
Angie’s older brother stares at us warily, I hadn’t seen him since he left for training.
“Does Mateo know?” Maddox demands of her, she glances nervously at her mate before shaking her head. “You make sure you tell him then,” Maddox snaps at her. She nods before baring her neck to him. Her mate stares at her oddly, giving me the impression he doesn’t know about Mateo and her.
Maddox turns, heading for the door, yet I can feel how on edge he is as he refuses to give me control back. When he opens the door, her scent smashes into us, and Maddox growls, hitting the button on the remote, shutting the shutter again, and locking us inside with them.
“Maddox, please.” I try one more time to get control.
“No!” Is all he says as he walks up the steps, taking them two at a time, his hand still holding our stomach together. The bedroom door is open, and he follows their scents into the bathroom.
“S
he’s not mine,” Mateo mutters his mantra, as we walk in to find them on the shower floor. Mateo’s head rests on the shower wall, his eyes closed. His nose twitches, and his eyes open as he looks up at us.
Kat is in his arms, and Maddox’s eyes zero in on his hands holding her ass, the way her hips move against him, and her licking his chest, purring as she seeks relief from her pain.
“I didn’t, I am just holding her,” Mateo defends, and he gulps before he moans when she bites his chest.
Kat lifts her head, sniffing the air before turning to look at us, her pupils are blown wide, eyes glowing back at us. There is no recognition in her eyes as her instincts register our scent, yet Mateo doesn’t let her go, like he is afraid to move, even as she thrashes in his arms trying to get to us.
Maddox opens the shower screen, crouching on his feet before reaching for her.
“I didn’t… we haven’t done anything,” Mateo breathes. Maddox pries one hand off her ass, and she sinks down on Mateo, trying to take advantage and impale herself down on top of him. Mateo groans and wraps his arm around her shoulders, dragging her higher up his body, so she can’t accomplish her goal.
Maddox whimpers at her display. Mateo quickly takes his free hand and covers himself, so she can’t sink her heat down on him, and so he’s not tempted by what’s hovering above him.
“I swear, Maddox, I haven’t mated her,” Mateo defends.
“I know, I would smell if you had,” he grunts, prying Mateo’s arm off her. She turns, nearly knocking us backward as her body hits ours in a blur.
Maddox groans in pain as her legs lock around us, her lips press against our neck. Maddox wraps his arm around her, and our injuries heal as she attacks us.
“Enough Kitty, you will grow weak,” Maddox growls at her and nips her shoulder to stop her. Mateo freezes, his entire body tense as we lean forward, back to the crouching position with her tucked in our lap.
Maddox stands, hobbling to the room before grabbing the handcuffs off the bed and securing one to her wrist and wrapping it around the thin metal bar running along the headboard before securing it to her other.
Kat whimpers as we step away from her. “Hang on, Kitty, I will give you what you want, I just need to deal with Mateo,” he assures, and I try to shove forward as he turns to the bathroom.
