“What?”
‘What?’
Ivory and Daniel both shouted in shock, but I knew I wasn’t wrong about it. And the way she chuckled at my greeting, she confirmed that what I was thinking was right.
“Angel, how could she be your mother?” Daniel asked in confusion.
“The moment Ivory said that ‘she’s the exact copy of yours.’ And that’s the exact compliment my mother used to get whenever she used to take me out with her. You have seen pictures of my mom, right? I look at the exact carbon copy of her from top to bottom.”
“Yeah! That’s true that you look just like your mother. But…but how did you figure out about it?”
“I would have guessed it as her in the first place only if I knew that she turned into a vampire, and the idea of twins sister wouldn’t have been filled in my mind. And not to forget, my other sister was born dead. In case she would have been alive, then she would have been like me, but she wasn’t. And for a moment, I could assume that her Lycan would have died too, but then, converting into a full vampire but…but then she wouldn’t have been a pain in the ass of vampires for decades.” I responded and looked at her.
“And I couldn’t smell her scent before she came here, and that couldn’t be only possible if Orpheus would have to cloak her scent. And If I wasn’t guessing it wrong, then he always did that to her to keep her safe; otherwise, she would have been killed for breaking the law of vampires.”, I said, narrowing my eyes.
“You turned out to be so smart in all these years.”, She said with an amused. I couldn’t help but look into her eyes to find something which I had lost seventeen years back.
But NOPE, I didn’t find it.
She had my mom’s face, but she wasn’t my mom from her heart.
“And you turned out to be so evil in all these years.”, I snapped.
“Haww,” she slapped her hand on her mouth in a fake surprise reaction. “You are telling that your own mother is an evil, bad manners! Did you learn all these things in my absence, hmm?”
“Why, Mom?” I asked, shaking my head.
“Because I started liking this power. I can crush anything and anyone with it. I’m not a weak human anymore, a human who always used to fall sick and get hurt. Now, I don’t have to follow anyone’s orders because with my power; I can make them do anything. If I would say a day, then they would be a day, and I would say night, then they would say night. Now, I want more power. More power than ever. So that only vampires could rule all over the world, I could rule over the world.” she grinned evilly.
I was looking at it with my unbelievable eyes. If someone else would have said about it, then I could have never trusted him or her, but even after hearing all these with my own ears, I was having a hard time believing it. I could say that my mother had lost her mind in the hunger for power.
“And how are you planning to do that? By killing my mate?”
“I wasn’t thinking of doing that, but then he is someone whom I couldn’t control, and If I couldn’t control someone or something, that could be dangerous for me, so it couldn’t let my weakness stay alive.”
‘Hell, that will happen,’ Ivory growled.
I felt my body getting tensed again. Shit! Daniel again stood in front of me, breaking the eye contact.
“Why don’t you deal with me first before dealing with my mate?” Daniel growled.
“I’m not here to deal with you, but with my smart daughter but no worries, there are a lot of people who could deal with you.”, After saying this, a lot of vampires entered the room.
‘FREEZE’
Picking Daniel in my arms, I quickly ran from there before they could have got a hand on us. But then Silas blocked my way. Damn it! I had marked him, so my powers wouldn’t work on him.
“You need to stop doing this, you.”, Daniel whined while Silas attacked us. I used Daniel’s leg to hit him by force. “What the hell… I’m the hero of our story!” he added.
“Shut your mouth and help me in fighting with him.”, I said, putting him down. Silas ran toward Daniel to attack him, but I stepped in the between dodge his punch which he was going to throw at Daniel. Fighting in a human form with someone who was also in human form was similar to martial art.
So, I knew how to deal with him. I kept dodging all his attacks at first to observe his way of fighting. I could see that he was getting frustrated because of his failed attempts. When he was not at all expecting me to attack even after fighting for five minutes, I used that part as an opportunity, and leaning down; I punched his stomach as hard as I could. He bent down in pain and groaned because of it. Without wasting time, I grabbed his hair and threw it on the nearby wall so hard that his hair ripped from his head. I looked at my hand and quickly threw his hair away. In a blink of an eye, I was in front of him to punch his face this time, but his voice stopped.
“Tigress! Stop!” he shouted, hiding his face with his hand.
“Silas?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
“Thanks to Mother Selene that you stopped.” he sighed in relief, removing his hand from his face. But observing me glaring at me, he spoke again, “It’s really me.” so that I could believe that it was indeed him. “Okay! You can ask me anything to verify it.”
“My favorite movie?”
“Twilight.”
“My favorite Series?”
“Lucifer”
“Wait! Hold on! He knows so much about you while I don’t know a thing.”, Daniel asked, feeling jealous.
“I’m sorry to break you that your mate spent fourteen days with me and we got to know about each other in those times. It’s your bad luck, Alpha, that you have just stayed six days with your mate.”
Daniel punched at his face, changing the map of his face, unable to control his anger. Well, I couldn’t blame him for that. It was Silas who added fuel to his anger by mentioning that he knew more about me than him.
‘Maybe our mate doesn’t know much about us, but he understands us better than anyone and also has seen us more than anyone until now.’, Ivory chirped, and I smiled at her words, but for some unknown reason, even Daniel was smiling now.
Why was he smiling?
“Aaahhh!!” Silas’s voice diverted my attention. And now, I was confirmed now that he was back, but how?
“Ouuchh!” Silas groaned.
“How did her control over your mind…you know?” I asked.
“Because of the enormous pain! Though I was present back in some area of the mind. I was observing everything that was happening around, but my body was doing everything at her command.”, he answered.
“Enormous pain, hmm!” I said, thinking for a while. “I think every one of us knows who is the only vampire who can cause enormous pain.”, I added, thinking about Elder Alaric.
“Sorry to break your bubbles, but he is no more.”
“What?”
“I knew where his coven was, so I took that psycho over there, and since no one in that coven had the power of seeing the future. So, she controlled over all the vampires in that coven and then converted the humans into vampires!”
“Damn it! This is not a piece of good news.”
“I know. And somewhere, I’m the reason behind it.”, Silas said, feeling guilty.
“It’s fine. Silas. We know that you were in her control.”, Daniel said, trying to make him feel good.
“What…what happened here?” I asked, knowing he might have seen everything that happened here.
“You wouldn’t believe me.”, he muttered, shaking his head. “At first, I was in shock at how the hell her face matched with yours so much, but when I reached here. I came to know that she was your mother. I mean, she was not like you, but it was you who had taken each and every feature of hers.”, he exclaimed before adding, “except her evil mind.”
“Thank you for your compliment. But how did you know that she is my mother, not twins sister or some doppelganger?”
“When we reached here, all the vampires had left, leaving their humans pets here but Elder Orpheus. So, I came to know about this truth after hearing her conversation with Elder Orpheus.”

“What the hell…love? Why have you controlled Silas’s mind when you know that he is one of the guardians of our daughter?” Elder Orpheus asked angrily with the love of his life. He couldn’t believe that the hunger for power would turn her from a kind-hearted human to a selfish and heartless human.
That woman, Clara, removed her hood and smiled at him before speaking, “I know you’re disappointed, but trust me! I wanted to control our daughter’s mind, but you see, it was too hard to get near them because of her two guardians.”
“But why? When Vincent predicted that ‘she is coming,’ I thought you would be coming for some Coven, but instead, you attacked our daughter’s pack. I couldn’t understand why you did do that?” Elder Orpheus asked. “Not only this, you even tried to kill her mate.”, he pointed out.
“Because I know the prediction of my life.”, she snapped. “I know that the vampire who will have the gift to control the time can erase my presence as a vampire life, and you tried to hide that from me that that vampire was none other than our own daughter.”, she yelled.
“Clara, love, listen…”
“What is there to listen, huh? You promised that you would never let that happen; you will kill that vampire with your own hand, but instead, you and your coven were training her.”
“Then what did you expect me to do? Kill my daughter? Moreover, predictions can be changed if you will change yourself.”
“Woah! Now you are asking me to change? I thought you loved me.”
“I love you, Clara, but this is not the woman I fell in love with.”, He said, poking his finger into her chest.
“Fine! If you can’t kill her, then I will.”
“She is our daughter, for god sake! You love her.”
“Oops! Sorry! All my human feelings died with my human life. If someone is dangerous for my life, then I just can’t let her live.”
“I can’t believe that you are saying this.”, he said, shaking his head. “Now I realize how wrong I was by keeping you safe all my life. I should have let them kill you or better never converted you into this monster which you’re now. Don’t forget that we are oddities of nature, nothing more than that. This is the world for humanity and kindness; people like you would end up everything alive in this world.”
“All these pity sentiments and emotions caused you to lose your Lycan. Only if you would not fall in love with a weak human would you still have been the strongest among all. One of the strongest among immortals, yet you never made an attempt to seize your own destiny, but I’m not a fool like you, Orpheus. And now that I knew you have started growing feelings for our daughter, I couldn’t stay with a weakling like you.”
“What do you mean, Clara?”
Before he could have used his mind to think, he was stabbed by the silver dagger right into his heart.
“I mean that I no longer need you, Orpheus. I have a lot of your venoms which can be used for cloaking my scent.”, she whispered in his ears.
“I will fail.”, he said in a painful tone.

I gasped hearing that.
‘How could a mom do something like that? Not only that, she even wanted to kill me.’
“Can we will her right now? In this statue position?” Daniel asked, gritting his teeth.
“No, you can’t. You need to unfreeze her first before attacking her. And I doubt that either of you can win from her because she is converted by Elder Orpheus himself and has been practicing to deal with all types of vampires and werewolves for the last seventeen years.” Silas responded to the question of Daniel’s question.
“Where…where is Orpheus?” I asked because when I came here, he wasn’t here. Did his body turn into ashes? But then I didn’t even find ashes as well.
“I don’t know. We had left from here to wait for you because she knew that you would surely come here.”
“It means he hasn’t left from here. He is somewhere in the mansion.”, I concluded. It was just that I couldn’t find him. “Do you have any idea where he could be?”
“There is one place where he used to stay whenever he thinks about you.”, Silas said, nodding his head. He stood up and ran his hand on the huge bald spot on his head and then glared at me.
I quickly averted my eyes as if I had no idea about what he was glaring at. We went back to the library and pulled out a red book from a bookshelf, and immediately a door opened behind the shelf. Silas signaled us to come inside, and we followed him. Once we were in, he closed the shelf from inside. I slapped both hands on my mouth, seeing the room I was in. It was fully covered with my pictures from childhood to now.
‘If he wouldn’t have been your father, then I would have….” Daniel stopped speaking when he saw my narrowed eyes. “This is why people suggest not to marry ever in your life.”, he muttered in a low tone, and that’s when my eyes landed on Orpheus, sitting in the corner of the room, and the nearby floor was covered with his blood.
‘UNFREEZE’
Orpheus took a deep breath; he had held a photo frame in his arms.
“Eva?” he called my name in confusion, wondering if I was really here or if he was dreaming in his last moment of life. But then his eyes landed on Daniel, “It means I’m not dreaming.” he talked with himself.
“Silas, you do know any healer nearby who can….”
“Eva!! Come over here”, he said, signaling with his hand. I nodded and walked near him. I saw him raising his hand, but he was feeling hesitated to touch me; that’s why I leaned toward him, letting his hand touch my face. “I’m sorry. All this is happening because of my stupidity.”
“It’s okay. Everyone does some stupidity in their life. No one is a saint here.”
“If you will try to fight with this Clara, then there is a rare chance that you will win.”
“I somehow know that. But I don’t know how to time travel yet, and looking at the situation, I don’t think I have enough time with me.”
“Don’t worry about that. I know you can do it. Just don’t underestimate yourself.”, he said, patting my head. And then signal Daniel to come near him. “Come here, Alpha Daniel Grint, because I don’t have much time left.”
Daniel crouched down near him from the other side of him. “You are fated to protect her by acting her as a shield.”, He said, pulling out the dagger from his chest; immediately, a lot of blood started oozing out from his body.
“And I will do that with my life.”, Daniel said with determination.
Orpheus didn’t say a word about it but cut his wrist and forwarded it toward him.
“What the…” I started speaking, but he showed me his other hand to keep silent.
“Hurry up before no more blood is left in my vein.”, he said.
Daniel leaned forward, but before he was going to drink the blood, he looked at Orpheus before speaking. “Won’t your blood be harmful to me?”
“You’re marked by a hybrid who has my blood in her veins.” he answered something else instead of the question he had asked. Daniel grabbed his hand and sucked his blood. I couldn’t imagine how he would be feeling right now. I mean, being a werewolf, sucking blood like vampires, but he didn’t keep sucking it like a vampire; after a few seconds, he left his hand from his grip, letting it go.
‘Why did he ask Daniel to drink his blood but not you?’ Ivory said the question, which I myself didn’t know.
“I wanted to ask if I can carry all these photo frames with me?” Daniel asked. I literally wanted to slap myself at his question.
“You can.”, Orpheus chuckled before turning his eyes on me, “Please stop me from turning Clara into this monster.”
“I will… I will surely, Fa..” I was about to call him father for the first time, but I was too late to say that because he had already closed his eyes. I mentally prepared myself that I had to do everything right at any cost NOW because if I wouldn’t, then this was just beginning.
