Daniel’s POV
.
I tried to open the door but it wasn’t getting opened. I tried for a few more minutes before looking toward Angel who just shrugged her shoulder as if she was already aware of this and that’s the moment I remembered her words.
‘I was not cheating on you. Yes, there was a man before you arrived here but he was here just because he had to repair the lock of this door.’
“Didn’t he repair the lock?”, I asked softly, checking my tone. So, that she wouldn’t feel like I was doubting her again.
“No. He left from here saying that he will be back with a new lock.”, She replied, showing no emotions on her face.
“Oh”, I muttered and returned back to her single bed. I could see two beds in the bedroom and both were on the opposite side of the room.
“So what now?”, I asked, thinking that I should break the door but then I couldn’t afford her getting angry again. After all, it was her apartment.
“We have to stay here till tomorrow morning, until my roommate, Diana is here.”, She responded.
Till tomorrow morning?
But I have a lot of pending work in my office.
Well, could I share that with Angel?
Absolutely no! Because she was already in no mood to take any of my shit!
She would easily point out that she didn’t invite me here.
I sat beside her, not knowing what to say or do say now. But then the silence between us was eating me.
“Are you feeling hungry?”, I asked the only question which came to my mind when I sat beside her. She shook her head but just then her stomach showed its appearance, growling loudly. I tried to control my smile while she tried to hide her face which was red because of the embarrassment. I left the bed and walked toward the balcony and after checking a few things, I went back into the room.
“So, what do you want to eat?”, I asked on which she looked at me, checking whether I was making fun of her or was serious with my words. “Here”, I said, forwarding my phone toward her. “You can order for both of us.”
“You will whatever I will order for you?”, She asked on which I nodded my head. “She browsed my phone for a while before looking toward me again. “Are you allergic to something or don’t prefer something to eat?”, She asked again.
I sat behind her and looked at the phone’s display before replying. “Nopeeee.”, I stressed on the E a lot more than required. “You can other anything you want. Just add two bottles of chilled beer.”, I said on which she nodded and finally ordered the food for us.
We sat beside each other doing nothing. I took her hand, and surprisingly, she didn’t repeal me. Instead, she just looked at me. I admired the ring on her finger, which was stating the fact that she was mine now. At least legally.
“Why were you here, Daniel?”, She asked. Well, I was not expecting her to break the silence between us.
“You came here all alone without informing me.”
“Well, I had informed Mom. And I’m sure she would have informed you.”, She pointed out. I controlled my anger when she mentioned that woman. I wondered why Angel got so much attached to that lady and that too this soon?
What would happen when Angel would see the real face of that woman?
She would regret for trusting and loving the wrong person.
“Yes, she did.”, I responded, gritting my teeth. “But that doesn’t change the fact you came here all alone.”
“I’m not a kid.”, She exclaimed.
“I know but that can’t stop me from getting worried for you.”, I answered back. She opened her mouth to argue but then shut it quickly. After debating for a while, she opened her mouth again.
“You were worried for me?”, She asked in a low tone.
“Isn’t that obvious?”, I asked her, raising my eyebrow and rubbing her ring finger with my thumb. “I have heard that in these days, women need extra care and support, you know. And many others things like mood swings, periods cramps, etc. That’s why when I heard that you left for the city without informing me then I couldn’t handle my anger at that moment.”
She opened her mouth in O and then nodded her head in an understanding way.
“I had thought to inform you on my own before leaving but then…I didn’t have your number.”, She responded. Hearing her, I took my phone from her hand before asking.
“What you number?”
“It’s 998756XXXX.”
I quickly saved it and dialed her number. I could hear her mobile ringing outside the room on which I disconnected the call.
“I have saved your number in my phone and you can save mine when we will get out of the room, okay?”, I said, solving her problem. So, next time, she could directly contact me instead of leaving any message for me near someone else.
“Okay!”
After a while, My phone started ringing, I swiped the screen of the phone and talked with the delivery boy. I disconnected the call and looked around.
“Don’t tell me you are going to do exactly what am I thinking right now?”, She asked narrowing her eyes.
“Well, we don’t have any options practically.”, I winced at her and took out the bedsheet from her roommate’s bed, along with the curtains. Before I could have thought of adding something else as well, she tied her bedsheet from the other corner of the rope.
“What?”, She shrugged. “I have never done this but it seems like so much fun.”, She added and once our rope was ready, we tied a bag at the end of the rope and then threw it out from the balcony and guided the delivery boy to keep all our orders in the bag.
“Wow! I can never forget this moment.”, She chirped when I was pulling the rope carefully. “I didn’t know you could think something like that.”, She added.
“Well, you don’t know many things about me.”, I said in a teasing tone.
“Then I would like to know.”, There came her instant reply. I looked at her with a mischievous look on my face on which she corrected herself. “Don’t give me that look okay? I mean I don’t have any other things to do tonight, you now.”, She added before taking the bag, full of foods from there to hide her red cheeks.
‘I’m glad that she’s not leaving us.’, My wolf muttered.
‘Yeah!’, I responded, still looking at her, who was busy in taking out, all the orders out of the bag.
‘By the way, didn’t you feel that she’s different?’
‘I know. She is.’
‘No. I’m not saying it in a romantic way but in another way. Remembered, how she kicked us and his kick had the power to throw us a few meters away from her. Not to forget, when she roared in anger, I would be lying if I say that I didn’t tremble in fear.’
I realized that whatever my wolf was saying was the truth. But did that really mean that my bride was not was she exactly looked like?
Was she not a human?
