CHAPTER 66

Book:FALLING FOR A FAKE OMEGA Published:2024-6-3

Due to Kenneth’s departure, Sabrina completely lost herself. She was always in a daze, and in fact, she had neglected Scarlet for several days. Perhaps if she had listened to the man, he wouldn’t have left. Maybe if she had immediately believed that he didn’t deceive her, their planned marriage would have pushed through.
“Aren’t you going to stop anymore?” Margaret angrily asked Sabrina, who had been crying and worrying for several days.
Sabrina burst into even louder sobs because as time went on, she missed Alexander even more. “I can’t contact him anymore, Mom.”
“You pushed his patience to the limit, Sabrina. What if your wedding had pushed through, and you were still like this? You didn’t want to listen to him,” Margaret blamed Sabrina, but after a moment, she regretted it. “I’m sorry, but you have to endure the pain of losing him.”
“I can’t live without him,” Sabrina replied, wiping her tears and slowly making a decision. She would search for Kenneth and bring him to the altar, even if he didn’t want to. Surely her father would help her, right?
“But you let him go,” Margaret said.
“I didn’t think he would leave and abandon me,” Sabrina weakly responded to Margaret’s accusation. Maybe she was at fault, but couldn’t she complain anymore? She was hurt by what he confessed about Sabrina, and as his girlfriend, she had the right to feel upset.
“Just accept that you’re not meant for each other,” Margaret suggested.
“No!” Sabrina shouted and stood up. “I will find him no matter where he’s hiding!”
“Are you going crazy? Why would you search for him? Just to blame him again for the loss of your child? The problem with you is that you’re too selfish!” Margaret yelled, trying to make Sabrina understand what she wanted. As a mother, she also found it difficult to see her constantly crying.
“My decision is final, Mom. I will go to Kenneth’s house or even his office, and if I have to drag him back here, I will!”
“My God! You’re crazy!”
Sabrina was left alone by Margaret’s departure. She couldn’t help but imagine herself searching for the man and dragging him back to Claybourne. Crazy as it may be, her threat was real. Before leaving the pergola where she often stayed, she thought about the possible actions to carry out her plan.
“You’re smiling now,” Meghan commented as she found Sabrina in their pergola. She had been looking for her because she wanted them to get a manicure and pedicure together.
“Oh, it’s you, Meghan.”
“Does your smile mean you’ve moved on?”
“Why would I move on? He’s mine,” Sabrina said.
Meghan raised an eyebrow at Sabrina’s statement because she wasn’t sure if her assumption was correct. But if ever Sabrina would do the things she did in the past to make Marcus fall in love, she would support her. “Don’t you have anything to do later? Let’s go out,” Meghan said.
“And where are we going?”
“Where else but the salon? It’s time for a makeover,” Meghan declared.
“Hmmm, why not? What time are we leaving?”
“Right now?”
“Okay, I’ll just change clothes.”
Upon saying that, Sabrina and Meghan entered the house together. As she climbed the stairs, Sabrina suddenly remembered the moment she had a confrontation with Kenneth when he blocked her way.
When she entered the room, she immediately headed to the sofa where Kenneth often sat and smelled a t-shirt he left behind. Afterward, she went to her closet and picked out an outfit that would be suitable for her first outing since she had a miscarriage.
Sabrina sighed as she looked at the blouses hanging in the wardrobe and quickly chose a nice color to pair with her blue shorts. She changed into the chosen outfit. She took a deep breath as she looked at her own reflection. The effects of pregnancy were still evident on her body, so she thought of restoring her figure before looking for Kenneth McBride. When she stepped out, Meghan was already waiting and dressed as well.
“Why are you dressed like that?”
“Hmmm, for the same reason you’re dressed like that,” Meghan replied.
“My thighs have gotten bigger, so my pants don’t fit anymore,” Sabrina made an excuse.
“Hmmm, it suits you, Sabrina. Shall we go?”
They were close to their favorite salon when Sabrina felt like there were eyes watching her. She glanced around anxiously, and Meghan noticed her unease. When Meghan asked her, she just shook her head.
“Should I dye my hair?”
“Why not? I’m considering it too,” Meghan replied.
“How many months do you think it will take for me to get my body back to how it was?”
“Hmmm, maybe about three months,” Meghan answered seriously. “Or maybe even longer,” she added while looking at Sabrina’s body from head to toe.
“That long?”
“Trust the process okay?” Meghan said.
Both women had a blast in doing makeover, but when they got home, Margaret seemed to be in a bad mood.
“Is there a problem with the kids, Mom?” Sabrina asked.
“I need to talk to you, Sabrina,” Margaret responded.
Meghan immediately excused herself as Sabrina nodded her head in agreement. Then she followed her mother into the sitting room where they could talk.
“I think it’s time you get hold of your emotions, Sabrina. Since he left you, you didn’t do anything productive but cry all night! Didn’t we talk about this already? You have to learn the business!”
“Mom, please. The business can wait, but the issue about Kenneth is urgent,” she reasoned out.
“Kenneth again?”
Is it really difficult to understand her situation? Is it wrong that she’s not yet ready to move on from what happened between her and Kenneth?
“Forgive yourself, Sabrina,” Margaret suggested because she understood why it’s hard for Sabrina to forget Kenneth.
“Why won’t you believe that we’re meant for each other?” Sabrina asked.
“You had your chance,” Margaret reminded Sabrina how much Kenneth patiently waited for her.
“I will do everything to win him back,” Sabrina decided, ready to make another attempt to win Kenneth McBride’s love.
“Do you think you’ll be happy if you force something? Why don’t you focus on yourself or continue with your business idea? Sabrina, you’re beautiful, so don’t chase after someone. Let Kenneth chase after you,” Margaret suggested.
“So, I should just wait for him to come back here? Mom, it’s not going to happen! If I will just wait for him, my hair might turn white and he still won’t be here!”
“It means you’re not meant for each other,” Margaret replied.
Sabrina simply nodded, as if she already had a suspicion about where their conversation was going. “So, you’re just telling me that you and Brandon Hart are destined for each other, right?”
“That’s true!”
“We’re different, Mom. I don’t want to just wait and do nothing,” Sabrina said.
Margaret sighed at Sabrina’s stubbornness. “A handsome face and body are not enough to attract a man. Why don’t you ask yourself? What does Kenneth see in you that he can’t resist? Come on, Sabrina. You’re not dumb to settle for just regaining your beauty. Why don’t you emulate Meghan?”
“We’re different, and you know that!”
Margaret sighed again as Sabrina abruptly left, cutting her off before she finished speaking. She wanted to tell Sabrina about Brandon’s proposal last night. Margaret let out a deep sigh as she returned to the living room where Brandon was waiting for her.
