CHAPTER 43

Book:FALLING FOR A FAKE OMEGA Published:2024-6-3

Daniel had made a solemn promise to Isabelle, assuring her that they would embark on a journey to salvage their crumbling marriage. However, unbeknownst to Isabelle, the passage of time had transformed Daniel into a bitter and resentful man, harboring deep-seated animosity within his wounded heart.
Despite Isabelle’s valiant efforts to shield herself from the haunting presence of Kenneth, Daniel proved himself to be callous and unfeeling, relishing every opportunity to inflict guilt upon her for her past affair with Kenneth. With each passing day, he chipped away at her fragile spirit, extinguishing the flickering ember of hope that had dared to burn within her.
Isabelle, burdened by the weight of her remorse and the relentless emotional torment inflicted upon her by her husband, could no longer bear the suffocating atmosphere of their loveless union. For the nth time, she asked him to just divorce her but Daniel wouldn’t allow it. In fact, he has taken precautions in order to corner Isabelle and blackmail her.
One night, Daniel mixed some drugs into her drinks, and then he paid another man to have sex with her. The whole time that someone abused her, Daniel recorded everything, and he used that video to blackmail Isabelle into doing everything he wanted her to do.
A veil of misery had shrouded her existence, obscuring the vibrant hues of joy and contentment she once cherished. Summoning every ounce of her courage, she confronted Daniel, her voice trembling with a mixture of sorrow and defiance.
“You’ve been relentless in your pursuit to make me feel guilty for the affair, for my momentary lapse of judgment,” Isabelle uttered, her words laced with the bittersweet taste of regret. “You are so heartless, Daniel!”
Daniel’s eyes, once filled with warmth and affection, now glinted with a coldness that sent a shiver down her spine. His lips curved into a cynical smile, a bitter manifestation of the resentment that had consumed him.
“Daniel please, just divorce me if you can’t love me anymore,” she begged him.
“I am not stupid to grant your wish, baby. We don’t deserve happiness,” he retorted, each syllable dripping with acrimony and resentment. “As much as I don’t deserve to be happy, you can’t be happy as well. Till death do us part, remember?”
“Oh God, you’re crazy!”
“You made me crazy, Isabelle. This is all your fault!” he shouted at her before a slap hit her cheeks.
Isabelle stood there, stunned and wounded by his heartless declaration. The weight of his words pressed upon her chest, suffocating her hopes and dreams.
The realization of Daniel’s transformation struck Isabelle with a pang of profound sadness, piercing her soul like a thousand needles. She had clung to the faint hope that their renewed efforts would rekindle the flame of their love, but instead, she found herself confronting an embittered and unyielding partner. The depths of his resentment not only wounded her but also shattered her belief that they could salvage what was left of their fractured bond, but then, she would be a hypocrite to just blame Daniel for everything. She contributed to their fallout by having an affair with his brother.
As tears welled up in her eyes, Isabelle questioned the very foundation of their relationship. Was there any room for forgiveness, for healing? Or had their journey to rediscover love veered irreparably off course?
“You said we will try hard to save this marriage, Daniel,” she reminded him.
“God knows, I tried my best. I really tried, but you cheated on me with my own brother, Isabelle! Do you have an idea how much I hate him right now? I want to kill him with my bare hands, Isabelle! Thanks to you, I may become a criminal for killing my brother.”
“No, you wouldn’t,” she called him bluffing.
“Of course, I won’t do it. There are better ways to kill a man. He ruined my marriage, so I will ruin his marriage as well,” he said.
Isabelle laughed and told him, “Kenneth doesn’t love Sabrina.”
“Oh? Really? Did he tell you that? Or you just assumed it was the case because he always has time for you? Darling, that’s how we play with women. We make them believe they are important so that they would spread their legs for us. How naïve of you to think that he loves you, Isabelle.”
“He told me he loves me, Daniel,” she answered.
“If he is truly in love with you, he will just divorce Sabrina and he’s free. However, he didn’t. Do you know why? Because he is falling for that girl’s innocence,” he taunted her.
“Enough!” she shouted at him.
“Go to your room and prepare yourself for tonight,” he ordered her.
Isabelle closed her eyes as he turned his back from her. Daniel was cruel to her every time he would claim his right as her husband. He would inflict pain on her, and he would even disrespect her by fucking her in every hole of her body!
“What are you doing standing there like a statue? Go and take a bath! I will be there in twenty minutes,” he said.
“Daniel, not now, please,” she begged him because she didn’t think she would be able to take it anymore. She was still in pain from last night.
“I said, go!”
When he screamed at her, Isabelle immediately went to the bathroom as he ordered. As she turned on the shower, she was thinking of a way to escape from him, but Daniel proved to be a difficult opponent. He watched her every movement!
She couldn’t do anything but just cry, and then one day, she got a piece of news that would shatter her fragile world once more.
A wave of disbelief washed over Isabelle as she stared at the positive pregnancy test in her trembling hands. How could this be? She had taken every precaution, faithfully adhering to her birth control regimen to ensure that the scars of their broken marriage would not be passed down to an innocent child. It was inconceivable, a cruel twist of fate that threatened to plunge her deeper into the abyss of despair. With a trembling voice, Isabelle confronted Daniel, desperately seeking solace or perhaps a glimmer of hope amidst the wreckage of their shattered dreams.
“I can’t be pregnant, Daniel. I’ve been taking my pills faithfully,” she pleaded, her voice tinged with a mixture of disbelief and devastation.
“Are you sure you were taking pills?” he asked, and then he laughed.
Daniel’s eyes, filled with a strange mix of regret and triumph, met Isabelle’s gaze. He revealed his cruel deception, confessing that he had surreptitiously replaced her contraceptive pills with harmless vitamins, cunningly ensuring that their paths would remain forever intertwined.
As she listened to him, Isabelle’s heart shattered into a thousand pieces. The revelation of Daniel’s calculated actions tore at the fabric of Isabelle’s already fragile emotional state. The foundation of trust that remained had crumbled, leaving behind a void that seemed insurmountable. The implications of her unexpected pregnancy, once a symbol of hope and new beginnings, now felt like an inescapable prison, a cruel reminder of the entangled web of their broken relationship.
Isabelle’s world spun out of control as she grappled with the enormity of her situation. Confusion and anger intermingled with her profound sadness, creating a whirlwind of emotions that threatened to consume her. How could she bring a child into a world tainted by deceit and resentment?
“Later, I have another surprise for you baby. Just wait for it,” he said.
