CHAPTER 33

Book:FALLING FOR A FAKE OMEGA Published:2024-6-3

For an agonizing week, Isabelle’s heart ached with longing for Kenneth. Each passing day without him felt like an eternity, and the void in her life seemed insurmountable. The mere thought of him being away on a honeymoon with his wife caused a mix of emotions to surge through her.
At times, she felt consumed by an overwhelming sadness, a deep longing that gnawed at her soul. Her nights were spent restlessly, tossing and turning in her empty bed, haunted by visions of the two of them together, while sharing intimate moments. The realization that she was not the one experiencing those stolen kisses, whispered promises, and passionate embraces left her heart shattered into countless fragments.
But amidst the pain, a seething anger simmered within her. It was an anger borne out of jealousy and possessiveness, fueling her thoughts with bitterness. How dare his wife have him all to herself? How dare they embark on a romantic journey while she was left behind, yearning for his touch? The injustice of it all was unbearable!
Days dragged on, with each passing hour feeling like an eternity. And finally, the moment arrived when Kenneth returned to the mansion. Isabelle’s heart raced with anticipation, her senses heightened as she caught a glimpse of him. Every nerve in her body seemed to tingle, yearning for his presence to fill the void that had consumed her for so long.
“You look excited about something,” Daniel noticed.
“I am excited every single day, my dear. Should I mention that being with you makes me feel excited and happy all the time?” she gas lighted her husband.
“I love you, darling,” Daniel said before hugging her tightly from behind.
“I love you more,” she lied because it couldn’t be true.
At the moment, she was driven by an insatiable desire to see Kenneth again and to be near him, or claim him as her own. The walls that restrained her feelings crumbled, and she anticipated her reunion with the man who held her heart captive.
Fortunately, Daniel told her that he would be away again for a business trip but she knew better. He was also cheating on her. Actually, he had been cheating since the day they were engaged. He was in love with someone else and yet, he was so scared to cancel the engagement for fear of being disowned.
She didn’t mean to catch him red handed with his philandering activity. It just happened when she paid an unannounced visit to his office. Daniel made her believe that he was in love with her, that she was his world, but then, she caught him in his office with a woman between his thighs. Since that time, Isabelle refused to go to the office, until Daniel had no choice but to step out because Gabriel McBride seemed to discover the affair. Only God knows what happened to the woman.
While Daniel tried his best to be with her at all times while they were processing their wedding, he fell in love again with a young woman. For the second time, she spent a night crying for his betrayal. Since then, he continued to betray her, then she met Kenneth. However, it was too late. She was already married to Daniel, and he was married to Sabrina.
Still, she couldn’t give up on Daniel or Kenneth yet. She needed Daniel for the status, and Kenneth to satisfy her needs. Since the wedding, she could only count on her finger the number of times when Daniel tried to be intimate with her, and every time it happened, he wasn’t gentle. It seemed like he was punishing me for the other woman’s fault. Whenever he was not in a good mood, he would fuck her, and she hated him for it!
It took her a lot of patience to wait until late in the night before she could visit Kenneth. She tried calling his phone earlier, but it was turned off. Therefore, she had no choice but to wait. Last time, Kenneth gave her an extra key to his room so she could visit him anytime.
After dinner, she announced to everyone that she would be retiring to bed early because she wasn’t feeling well. Inside the huge bedroom, her eyes were focused on the wall clock. Fortunately, Gabriel McBride was so strict in the mansion. Everyone must be in their room before nine in the evening.
When the clock struck nine, she moved with purpose, and her steps were guided by an unwavering determination. Slowly, she opened the door, and she was so careful not to alarm anyone. Her heart pounded in her chest as she tiptoed in the dark toward the West Wing where Kenneth and Sabrina were residing. Actually, she already planned to suggest that Kenneth and Sabrina would be allowed in the main house because the West Wing clearly needed some improvements. She was about to open his room when it suddenly opened.
“What the fuck! Are you crazy? What do you think you’re doing outside my room?”
Kenneth closed the distance between them, his arms encircling her in a tight embrace, devoid of warning. His voice, low and uncertain, reached her ears, causing her to momentarily forget her anger.
“I miss you,” she told him.
“Oh God, come in,” he said and immediately let her in.
“Sabrina is still awake,” he told her.
“I don’t care, Kenneth. You have been away for more than a week and I miss you so much.”
“Isabelle,” he whispered, the weight of his words hanging in the air. “Oh god, I can’t hold this anymore.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I am in love with you,” he said.
Caught off guard, Isabelle stood frozen in his arms. The declaration of his affection shook her to the core. It was a revelation she had never expected, a confession that threatened to upend the delicate balance of their lives. In that moment, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the intensity of their connection.
Part of her longed to strike out, to push him away and demand an explanation for his audacity. But another part-the part that had yearned for his touch, for his proximity-found solace in his embrace. It was a paradoxical moment, where conflicting emotions collided and danced in the space between them.
She found herself grappling with a surge of relief. He had finally noticed her, acknowledged the depth of her presence in his life. Though it may have been misplaced, his declaration was more than she had ever hoped for.
Yet, buried beneath that relief was a pang of realization-a realization that what he felt might be driven by something other than love. It could be a mere manifestation of his desires, fueled by fleeting passion rather than genuine affection. Her voice quivered with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism as she posed the question, hoping for honesty.
“When was the last time you got laid?” she asked but deep inside her mind, she was scared to learn the truth; that he was fucking his wife during their honeymoon!
“Last week…with you,” he answered.
Her nod was filled with a bittersweet understanding. “You just need a woman, and you see me as an easy target. It’s not affection, Kenneth. It’s lust.”
“No! What I feel for you is not a simple lust or a desire of the flesh, Isabelle. While in Clayland, I kept thinking about you,” he admitted.
“What about Sabrina? Didn’t she enforce her right to have you at night?”
“She was injured the whole time we were there,” he answered. “You are the only woman I want right now, Isabelle.”
“Oh, Ken,” she mumbled.
With her heart laid bare before him, she questioned their situation, her hands gravitating slowly toward his back as they wrapped around him. The embrace they shared spoke of a profound longing, a yearning to bridge the chasm that separated them. His voice trembled as he bared his soul, confessing the overwhelming attraction he felt for her.
“I tried to keep it inside me, but the attraction is just too powerful. I just can’t control it anymore, Isabelle.”
Moved by his vulnerability, she felt a surge of emotions threatening to consume her. The world around them seemed to fade into insignificance as she leaned in, her lips inching closer to his. It was a reckless act, driven by a whirlwind of emotions and a desire to taste the forbidden fruit.
In that stolen kiss, their worlds collided, and their fates intertwined. For a fleeting moment, they found solace in each other’s arms, their bodies pressed together as if trying to merge into one.
Breathlessly, she pulled away, her eyes meeting his in a silent understanding. The reality of their predicament settled upon them like a heavy fog. She mustered the strength to speak, her voice tinged with regret.
“This is wrong, Kenneth. I may be attracted to you, but this will not result in anything good. I’m still married, and you’re my husband’s brother. It’s completely wrong.”
As she attempted to break free from his grip, her words falling into the abyss of their circumstances, he refused to let go. Desperation clouded his eyes as he pleaded, bargaining for a sliver of hope.
“I’ll do anything for you, as long as you don’t tell me to leave you, Isabelle.”
She couldn’t help but question his state of mind, wondering if he was inebriated or simply lost in the heat of the moment. The silence that followed his plea was deafening, and slowly, he released his hold on her.
Realizing the magnitude of their actions, the reality of their choices, he turned his gaze away, avoiding the intensity of her gaze. In that moment, Isabelle glimpsed the agony etched in his eyes, a reflection of her own torment. His voice wavered as he struggled to find the right words.
“Perhaps we should just remain as family. I don’t want to cheat on my husband forever. However, I want to do something right now. Just the two of us.”
“What is it?” he inquired, rubbing his eyes in the dimly lit room.
“I’m going to sleep here tonight.”
The room fell into a pregnant silence, the air thick with anticipation and unspoken desires.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yes,” she answered.
“Very well, baby. You can call me a loser, but I’m really falling for you,” he declared. “I can no longer control my feelings for you, baby.”
“Then, don’t control it,” Isabelle whispered before initiating a kiss. She knew it was reckless, and voicing her true feelings could make things even more complicated.
“I’m glad you’re not mad,” he said, kissing her back from the top of her head to the bottom of her hair.
Isabelle closed her eyes, savoring his signature scent. It was intoxicating, and she couldn’t resist her desires anymore. But then, she realized the gravity of their situation, and it was dire.
“Don’t you love me, Isabelle?” he asked, his voice was so unsure.
