Kenneth watched as Sabrina’s eyes widened with awe as they stepped into the elegant and upscale restaurant. The dimly lit ambiance, the soft music playing in the background, and the immaculately set tables seemed to captivate her. It was clear to him that it was her first time to eat in a fine dining restaurant.
As they were seated at a private table, Kenneth couldn’t help but smile at Sabrina’s contagious enthusiasm. He knew he had made the right choice by bringing her to this restaurant. It was evident that she appreciated the finer things in life, and he wanted to give her an evening to remember.
The waiter approached, presenting them with menus and sharing the specials of the evening. Sabrina’s eyes scanned the menu with fascination, taking in the array of gourmet dishes and delicacies. Her excitement was palpable, and Kenneth found himself becoming even more enchanted by her genuine enthusiasm.
When it was time to order, Kenneth observed Sabrina’s uncertainty, sensing that she might not be accustomed to fine dining etiquette. He discreetly signaled the waiter and requested his assistance in guiding Sabrina through the menu and suggesting suitable options.
The waiter graciously stepped in, offering suggestions and explaining the ingredients and flavors of each dish. Sabrina listened attentively, asking questions and seeking clarification when needed. Kenneth admired her eagerness to learn and her willingness to embrace new experiences.
With the orders placed and the anticipation growing, Kenneth took a moment to appreciate the enchanting atmosphere and the delightful company he was in. He realized that this evening was about more than just a dinner.
As the first course arrived, Sabrina’s eyes lit up with delight. She delicately savored each bite, savoring the flavors and textures with a newfound appreciation. Kenneth couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing that he had played a part in giving her this experience.
Throughout the meal, they engaged in meaningful conversation, sharing stories, and discussing their aspirations. Kenneth discovered a side of Sabrina that went beyond the office secretary he had initially perceived her to be. Her intelligence, ambition, and warm-hearted nature shone through, captivating him even further. As the evening drew to a close, Kenneth couldn’t help but feel a growing connection with Sabrina and he didn’t want to let her go just yet.
As he escorted Sabrina out of the restaurant, Kenneth noticed a genuine smile on her face. It was a smile that reflected a delightful evening. At that moment, he realized that he didn’t want her to go home yet.
“Thank you for treating me to a nice dinner, sir,” Sabrina said her appreciation.
Kenneth took a deep breath, trying to gather his courage as he looked into Sabrina’s eyes. “Sabrina, I was wondering if you’d like to do something a little different tonight,” he said, his voice filled with excitement and nervousness because he didn’t want her to misunderstand especially when he was a lot older than her.
Sabrina tilted her head slightly, a curious expression on her face. “Different? What do you have in mind?” she asked, her tone laced with intrigue.
Kenneth hesitated for a moment, his gaze momentarily flickering away before returning to meet Sabrina’s gaze. “Well, instead of going to a movie theater, I thought we could watch a movie together at my apartment,” he suggested.
Sabrina’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, a hint of uncertainty crossing her features. “Your apartment?” she echoed, her tone betraying her surprise.
“Yes, I know it might seem a bit unconventional, but I thought it could be a better choice, especially with the kind of weather we have right now.”
Sabrina’s initial surprise slowly transformed into a smile. “You know what? That sounds like a refreshing change. I’d love to give it a try,” she replied.
“Great! I promise it’ll be a comfortable and enjoyable evening. Just let me know if you have any movie preferences,” he said, his enthusiasm growing.
Sabrina chuckled softly, a playful glint in her eyes. “I trust your taste in movies, sir. Surprise me,” she responded in a friendly voice.
Kenneth led the way to his apartment, feeling a growing connection with Sabrina. The anticipation of sharing a cozy movie night together filled the air. Inwardly, he was nervous because Sabrina was too pretty tonight. Even with less makeup, she was truly beautiful!
Inside the car, Kenneth couldn’t help but steal glances at Sabrina as they made their way to his apartment. Her presence filled the vehicle with a certain warmth and excitement that he couldn’t ignore. Then, the rain began to pour relentlessly, drumming against the car windows and obscuring the view outside.
“Thank you so much for being kind to me, sir,” Sabrina said.
“No problem. I am glad you like my treat. Hopefully, starting tomorrow, we can be comfortable in the office again while working,” he stated.
“Of course, sir. You don’t have to worry about the conversation I overheard earlier. It wasn’t really your fault,” she said.
He nodded and focused on driving instead.
As they arrived at the apartment building, Kenneth realized that he hadn’t brought an umbrella. He cursed himself silently for not checking the weather forecast before going out. With a sigh, he turned to Sabrina, a sheepish smile on his face.
“I’m sorry, Sabrina. I didn’t anticipate the rain. We’re both going to get wet,” he admitted, feeling a sense of guilt wash over him.
Sabrina glanced out the window, watching the heavy raindrops cascading down. She chuckled softly, her eyes meeting Kenneth’s. “It’s just a little rain. We’ll survive,” she reassured him, her voice filled with lightheartedness.
They stepped out of the car, immediately greeted by the downpour. The rain drenched them both, their clothes becoming soaked within seconds. Laughter escaped from Sabrina’s lips as she hurried alongside Kenneth, seeking shelter at the building’s entrance.
Once inside, they stood there for a moment, water dripping from their hair and clothes. Kenneth’s gaze traveled over Sabrina’s wet form, a mixture of concern and attraction flickering in his eyes.
“You should change your clothes. You’ll catch a cold,” he told her.
“I didn’t bring extra clothes, sir.”
“You can use the guestroom. There are spare clothes there. Feel at home, okay?” Then, Kenneth gestured toward a nearby hallway leading to the guest room. “There’s a guest room down that hallway. You can use it to change.”
Sabrina smiled appreciatively, her wet hair clinging to her face. “Thank you, Kenneth. I’ll be quick,” she replied, heading towards the guest room.
