CHAPTER 55

Book:Prisoner To My Mate Published:2024-6-3

Theo walked out of Anastasia’s room after making sure she was still breathing. He walked down the hall to Ekaterina’s room. It’s been a week since Ekaterina removed the fire from Anastasia’s body. Since that had happened, he thought his mate would wake up once she had enough blood in her body, but she did not. The doctors don’t know why and neither does Ekaterina know. Theo is going to visit Ekaterina for a different reason right now.
Theo knocked on Ekaterina’s hospital door and waited to be told to enter before entering. He was the king and did not need to knock, but he thought it was proper to knock before he walked in on his friend and his strongest Alpha doing it. He knows it’s a hospital, and the chances of them doing it are low, but the smell of arousal coming from the room made him believe it was possible. A shiver ran down his spine, just imagining himself walking in on them.
“My king,” Kyler says, opening the door. His hair looks like someone was pulling it a lot, and his clothes look like he just threw them on.
“Hello Kyler, how are you both doing today,” Theo says, walking inside. Ekaterina was lying down on the bed with her hair spread out on the pillow.
“We are both doing fine,” Kyler says, fixing his hair
“That’s good to hear. Kyler, do you mind giving Ekaterina and me some privacy” Theo only told three people in this world about his curse. His brother, Ekaterina, and his lovely mate. He trusted Kyler, but he did not trust him enough to discuss such a topic in front of him.
“Of course, my king, I will be in the lobby,” Kyler says, walking towards the door.
“Thank you,” Theo says before he walks out.
“How is Anastasia doing,” Ekaterina asks as Theo takes a seat on the chair beside her bed.
“The same”
“Hopefully, she will wake up soon.”
“I am hoping that also. I came to talk to you about Ava.”
“I know what you are thinking. How is she alive?”
“Yes, and how are we going to make her break the curse?”
“I think she never died but made everyone believe she did. How we are going to make her break the curse. I don’t know. Ava is a strong-headed woman. It will take a lot of convincing to make her agree to break the curse.”
“But it’s not impossible.”
“To me, it is, but you can try.”
“I will once Anastasia wakes up. You will help me set a meeting with her.”
“Sure, but be careful she is one sneaky lady.”
“Don’t worry, the day we meet. I will be prepared to meet her.”
“That’s good.”
Theo walks back to his room after he finishes talking to Ekaterina. As he reached the door of his mate, he saw a lot of people rushing in and out of Anastasia’s room. He ran inside to find out if something had happened to her.
“What’s wrong?” Theo asks the doctor once he steps inside. Anastasia has been stable for days now, so he wondered what could be wrong. Anastasia’s body was drenched in sweat as she moved her body in pain. The veins in her neck popped out so well that he feared it might burst any minute.
“She seems to be having a bad dream. She is dying in the dream and out here.”
“Do something to wake her up then,” Theo growled at the doctor. Theo was angry that the doctor knew what was wrong but was not doing anything to stop Anastasia from dying.
“I tried my king, but nothing is working.”
“Find something that works,” Theo yelled at the doctor that was doing nothing to save his mate.
“It’s only you that can help her, my king?”
“How,” Theo asks, pulling his brows in confusion.
“You need to enter her mind and wake her up.”
“How will I do that? I haven’t marked her” Theo knew it would have been possible if he had marked her. It would have been easier to enter her mind.
“I know, but what if you go in through another way.”
“How?”
“We just need your bodies to establish a connection with one another. Why don’t you try through her hand? You can bite her hand and see if you can enter her mind through there” Theo could not even mark Anastasia even if he was not cursed right now. Marking without mating first could kill.
“Okay, let me try that,” Theo says, grabbing Anastasia’s hand in his. He is about to dig his teeth into her skin when the doctor stops him.
“My king, you need to clear your mind and think about only her first.”
“Okay, got it.”
“You may begin,” The doctor says, moving away from the bed.
Theo cleared his mind and thought about his beautiful mate. He thought about the first time he saw her. Her wolf was small but very courageous and fought the rogues around it. With that thought, Theodore entered the mind of his mate.
ANASTASIA
I push on his shoulder to get his mouth away from mine. It does not work, so I bite his lips, he removes his mouth from mine, but he does not look happy.
“Feisty, I like,” Nickolas says with an ugly smirk on his face and spits blood out of his mouth. I use this opportunity to run, but he grabs my waist and throws me against the bed. He uses his body to prevent me from moving an inch away from him. He puts his mouth back on me, but not on my mouth this time, but on my neck and shoulder. I open my mouth to scream, but before any words can leave my mouth, he covers my mouth with his hand. I bite his hands, and the moment his hand is leaving my mouth, a slap lands on my face.
“I don’t want to hit you, but if you misbehave, I will have to,” Nickolas says and continue his assault on my body.
I hear him struggling to take off my clothes; I try my best to stop him. He stops trying to take off my clothes and tries to kiss me again, but I move my face away. I close my eyes as I see his hands about to land another slap on my face, but it never comes. Instead, I hear bone cracking. I open my eyes and find Theo beating the life out of Nickolas. Theo came for me; he is here to save me.
“I am going to kill you for touching my mate,” Theo growls as he continues to beat Nickolas.
“Theo, stop beating him. We need to go. Ava will be here soon, and she won’t let us leave. Let’s hurry, Theo,” I say, placing my hand on Theo’s arm to bring him back from his killing trance.
“We will leave, but first, I need to kill him,” Theo says and rips Nickolas’s head out of his body.
“You killed him, Theo; you killed him,” I say, smiling. I tried killing him, but it never worked. If I succeeded, he always came back alive.
“Yes, now we can go,” Theo says, grabbing my hand. He walks us towards the door, but before he can turn the doorknob, someone beats him to it.
“Not so fast, werewolf king,” Ava says, walking inside the room. Theo and I walk back as she enters the room.
“You see what I was saying Theo, she is here to take my blood. Please don’t let her take my blood. It hurts every time” Tears start to form in my eyes as I remember the pain every time she cuts my body open to drain the blood out of me.
“I won’t let her get close to you,” Theo says, pushing me behind him. “Make sure to stay behind me.”
“It’s time to die, Anastasia,” Ava says, smirking, walking forward to grab me, but before she can, Theo holds her first. Theo does not waste a second once her neck is in his hand and snaps it. He throws her body towards Nickolas’s dead body.
“You killed her too Theo, you killed her too. My suffering can finally come to an end.” I say, excited all the pain I have been feeling every day can finally end
“Yes, it has. Let’s go,” Theo says, grabbing my hand. This time around, Theo and I are able to walk out of the vampire castle. Every time I kill Nickolas and Ava. They never die; it felt like I was in an endless cycle of torture until Theo came this time. I am so happy he came for me. Now I can finally go home and be happy together with him.
Third Person Point of View
Theo removed his teeth from his mate’s hand the second her dream ended. He opened his eyes, and the pair of eyes he saw staring back at him left him stunned. Theo missed those pair of blue eyes like his staring back at him. He could not believe it after a week of not seeing them. He finally can gaze into them again.
“Hi, Theo,” Anastasia says with a soft smile.
“Anastasia is it really you,” Theo asks, touching her face.
“Yes, it’s me, my mate,” Anastasia says, with tears of joy in her eyes. She could not believe she was alive and her mate was in front of her right now.
“I can’t believe it,” Theo says, with tears of his own pooling in his eyes.
“Me too”
“I missed you. Never leave me again,” Theo says, hugging his mate.
“I missed you too, and I will never leave you again,” Anastasia says, hugging her mate back. Once he removes his arms around her neck. He seals her lips in a passionate kiss. It feels like ages to both of them since they last kiss. They both missed the feel of the other person’s lips against theirs. They never wanted to stop kissing but had to when they had to breathe.
“Welcome back, my mate,” Theo says, with his forehead against Anastasia.
