CHAPTER 27

Book:Prisoner To My Mate Published:2024-6-3

Three days later, Ekaterina arrives, and she has perfected the werewolf silver shield spell. We are about to test it out.
“You can shift now,” Ekaterina tells Theo.
All the silver has gone out of his body, so he can shift now. He has also fully recovered. The humans did not notice him getting better when they brought our food the last couple of days. They hardly even enter the cell. They just throw the food in. If only they knew they should have, but it’s good they didn’t because if they did. It would have ruined our plans. I can bet they would have injured him again to avoid us having a chance at escaping.
Theo shifts into his beautiful midnight wolf. Theo’s wolf is the biggest I have ever seen. I am not surprised since he is the werewolf king, but it still shocks me how big he is. His wolf should be 10 or 12 feet tall. Yes, in human form, Theo’s wolf is taller than me. My wolf is around 6 or 7 feet tall. The average height for werewolves. That’s like half of Theo’s wolf in size. I am not shifting because I would need to open the doors as we try to free all the werewolves. I know we can break down the doors in wolf form, but it’s easier if I just use my hand to open it.
I walk closer to him and pass my hands through his fur. It feels very soft and nice under my fingers. I unexpectedly rub my face into his fur, and I expect Theo to move back, but he does not. I shouldn’t be surprised anymore that he doesn’t push me away when I am close to him. He licks my face and pours wolf saliva all over my face.
“Theo!” I exclaim, disgusted with him behaving like a dog. I try to clean his saliva off my face. I expect him to mind linking me saying sorry; instead, he just smiles. It might be a wolf smile, but Theo smiled at me for the second time. I can’t believe it.
“Sorry,” Ekaterina says, handing me a piece of cloth to clean my face
“Thank you,” I say, collecting the piece of cloth from her.
“You’re welcome. I will begin the spell now,” Ekaterina says,
She releases water in one hand and fire in the other. She chants words into both her hands, holding them in the air. Her eyes flicker from ocean blue to flaming red. She starts sweating, and I start getting worried the spell might be taking a toll on her. I am about to tell her to stop when she hits Theo and I with a ball of fire. The fire did not burn, but I felt a little heat pass through my body. She also quickly follows it with a cold splash of water.
“Test it out,” She says, panting. The spell must have drained some of her energy.
“Are you alright?” I ask, not caring to test the spell out first.
“Don’t worry about me. I am fine. Check out the spell,” She says, waving me off.
“Okay, if you say so,” I say, walking to the door to see if I can open it without burning myself.
I slowly place my hand on the door, and it does not burn my skin. “It worked, Ekaterina,” I say, smiling.
“That’s good,” She says, smiling back.
I rip the door open. I am stronger than an average human, so it’s easy to break a door in human form. The only thing actually keeping us in the cell was because it was made out of silver.
“Let’s go,” Theo mind links me, walking out of the room.
Once he steps outside, he releases a loud howl to let every werewolf in here know their King is going to save them. The minute Theo stops howling, I hear clothes ripping. I suspect every werewolf that heard his howl is ready to help their king fight out of here.
I waste no time and start playing my part in our plan to get everyone out. I follow the sound of clothes ripping and find the cells where the werewolves are locked up. It was not hard to find them with Ekaterina’s fire helping me light the floor. I am able to see that they are about 50 cells here. I act fast and release every one. I am even surprised the humans have not arrived yet. All the werewolves stand in front of their cells, waiting for Theo to command how we will escape.
“The witch is going to cast a spell to protect you from the silver that they will most likely use to hurt you. Once she is done, I don’t think I need to tell you what to do next” Theo mind links everyone.
I look around, and every wolf has a confused look on its face which is understandable. It’s not every day you see a witch helping werewolves. Once he is done talking, Ekaterina steps forward, and like earlier, she does the same thing, but this time it’s not only her eyes that change colors also her hair. Her hair is glowing, flaming red one minute, and the next thing you know, it changes color and becomes blue like the sea. She releases a massive fireball into the air that hits every werewolf and splashes a big wave of water after. The minute she is done, I watch her almost fall down. I quickly walk over and help her stand. I am about to ask her how she is doing when something at the front door picks my attention more.
“Oh, shit,” A human says once he sees everyone. He quickly runs out, and an alarm goes off. He must have alerted all the humans that we are escaping.
Theo does not wait another second after the alarm goes off to charge after the human. Every wolf follows after Theo. Since they are taking care of our exit plan, I turn my attention back to the reason we will be able to succeed.
“Ekaterina, are you okay,” I ask, using my body to support her to stand.
“I will be fine, let’s go,” She says, putting her arm on my shoulder to support herself. I actually planned to shift since I have freed all the wolves, but it seems I will have to stay in human form to help Ekaterina walk out of here. She has really helped us tonight. I just hope she didn’t hurt herself in the process.
We follow after Theo and the other wolves out the door. As we try to find the exit. I see wolves tearing the skin of humans at every corner. A big smile graces my face as I pass screaming humans begging werewolves to spare their lives.
Ekaterina and I find the exit. I mind link everyone on how to find it. Everyone comes out except Theo. I start panicking, wondering what is keeping him from coming out. I tried mind linking him but can’t since he turned off his connection. I am about to walk back inside and look for him when he walks out with Gordon in his mouth.
He drops Gordon on the floor and changes back to human form. I don’t even care that he is naked in front of me because I am trying to figure out why he brought Gordon here and has not killed him yet.
“Apologize to her,” Theo says to Gordon.
“Never, you are going to kill me either way. I might as well die with some dignity left,” Gordon says,
“Let me try again, Apologize to her,” Theo growls at Gordon and inserts his finger into his wound on his shoulder. Theo must have been the one to give him that injury.
“I am sorry,” Gordon says, screaming in pain.
“For what,” Theo says, adding another finger into his wound. I turn my face away because I can’t watch what Theo is doing.
Theo does not get the hint and drags Gordon by his injured shoulder to face me again.
“I am sorry for whipping you,” Gordon says,
“And,” Theo says, adding more pressure to his wound.
“And for asking you to suck my cock. It was very stupid of me.”
“Good, now let me put you out of your misery,” Theo says and rips his head off. My heart swells as I realize what Theo did. I can’t believe he made Gordon apologize for what he did to me.
“No being can harm my mate and expect themselves to live,” Theo mutters, but I hear it.
I smiled as I took in every word he said to himself. Theo is making my heart flutter for him every day. It makes it hard to still be angry with him for how he treated me when we first met. I hope from now on that things are only good between us.
