CHAPTER 20

Book:Prisoner To My Mate Published:2024-6-3

THEODORE
Theodore walked inside the cabin with his mate in his arms. He could see the bruises all over her body from his harsh training. He did not mean to hurt her, but the intense training was needed for her to be strong for whatever they might face when they enter vampire territory. He could not risk what happened the last time she encountered a vampire ever happen again. His wolf only would kill him if he allowed that to happen again.
Theodore gently places Anastasia on her bed and walks to her bathroom to fill the bathtub with warm water for her. She must be exhausted, but she needs a good bath to have a good sleep. Once Theodore is done filling the bathtub with water and scented oils he found in her bathroom. He walks back to her.
“Anastasia,” Theodore calls her name softly for the first time. He is trying to wake her up. He knows he can’t be harsh with her after all the training she endured.
“Hmmm,” Anastasia says in her sleep. She is trying to block out the voice calling her name so she can get some sleep.
“You need to take a shower, wake up” Theodore tries to wake her up again.
“Okay,” Anastasia says, opening her eyes. She is a little shocked with the way Theodore is treating her gently, but she likes it regardless. Anastasia is about to drop her feet on the ground, but Theodore scoops her in his arms again before she cans. He walks them to the bathroom and places her at the edge of the bathtub.
“Once you are done, let me know. I will come and get you.”
“Okay, thank you,” Anastasia says before her mate walks out of her bathroom.
Theodore walks back to his room to quickly shower so he can be available when his mate is done bathing. He was also exhausted but not as exhausted as her.
Anastasia
Once Theo leaves the bathroom, I remove the blanket from my body and sink into the tub. To say I am surprised by Theo’s behavior would be an understatement. I am shocked beyond words by the way he treated me gently. I think he feels bad for the pain and exhaustion I am feeling because of the training. I am not angry at him because even though I have bruises all over my body. I know it’s because I am training to not get myself killed while trying to find my mom. I take my time and enjoy the warm water on my skin.
I don’t spend a lot of time in the bathroom because I am hungry. I use the shower after I am done in the tub. I am about to step out of the bathroom when I hear a knock on the door. Does Theo need something?
“Yes, Theo,” I say, opening the door halfway so that my face can be seen, but my body is still covered.
“Put it on and tell me when you are done,” Theo says, handing me clean clothes to change into.
I forgot he told me to call him when I am done showering. I am feeling better now, and I don’t actually need him to carry me anymore.
“Thank you,” I say, collecting the clothes from his hands.
I put on the clothes and walk out, but before I can take more than two steps. Theo lifts me off the ground.
“I am feeling better now. I can walk,” I tell him.
“I didn’t ask you,” He says, walking us out of my room.
He takes us downstairs and sits me down on the couch in the living room. He goes back upstairs and walks back down with a first aid kit in his hands. He walks towards me and gestures for me to give him my hands. I have a few cuts on my hands. I cringe every time it hurts as he cleans my wound.
“It needs to hurt for the pain to go away,” He says with his face emotionless. I am in pain, and that’s all he can tell me. I don’t understand him. He will treat me like an egg, and a few minutes later, he will say harsh words to me. Pick one Theo, it’s either you care about me, or you don’t.
“Thank you,” I say once he is done cleaning my wounds. He is about to reply when a knock is heard at the door.
“Apply this on areas that hurt but not open wounds,” He says, handing me a balm before he walks to the door to answer it.
He comes back a minute later with a lot of food in his hands but not only that. Someone is behind him with more food in their hands. He walks to the dining area and places all the food on the table. He walks back to me and carries me to the dining area. I don’t know why Theo thinks I can’t walk again because I didn’t move for almost five minutes after changing back to human form. I was just exhausted. My legs are not broken.
“Eat,” He commands like always.
“Theo, did you buy all of this for me,” I asked, widening my eyes as I took in the amount of food he bought. Any kind of food, name it, I can bet you it’s here. We have pizza, burger, pasta, Chinese, Mexican, and the list goes on.
“Yes, now eat.”
“There is so much food. I don’t know which one to eat and why did you buy a lot of food.”
“I didn’t know what you would like to eat, so I bought all I could think off.”
“You could have asked me.”
“I did not want to interrupt your shower.”
“Even though you didn’t have to buy different kinds of food.”
“Anastasia, pick a food and eat.”
“Alright, thank you,” I say and take a slice of the pizza.
THEODORE
After Theodore made sure Anastasia ate enough food. He gave her some human drugs to help with the pain. He felt terrible for all the pain she was going through because of the training. He stayed with her in the living room after she finished eating. Even though he had no desire to watch what she was watching, he stayed and watched with her so he could be there in case she needed something. When she fell asleep on the couch, he carried her to her room and laid her on her bed. While laying her on the bed, he could not help and worry about the dangers they might face when they go into Vampire territory. He wished she wouldn’t go inside, but he knew her well enough to know that she wouldn’t agree to that. He just hopes his plans work out and they find her mom soon so he can finally have some rest.
Anastasia
It’s been two weeks since Theo and I started living in the cabin not too far away from vampire territory. Training is less hard these days, and I am getting used to the method of training Theo uses.
While in the kitchen eating breakfast, I made for Theo and me. He hasn’t come down yet, so he hasn’t eaten his. I hear the doorbell go off. I drop my food back on the plate and walk to the door to see who is here.
I open the door, and it’s a woman. I don’t know who she is, and I wonder what she is doing here.
“Hello,” I say to the redhead standing in front of my door.
“Hi, you must be Anastasia. It’s nice to finally meet you. May I come in” The beautiful redhead says
“Who are you?”
“Forgive me, where are my manners. I am Ekaterina. I am the witch going to help you safely enter vampire territory,” She says, smiling, showing off her lovely pearl white teeth.
“What did you just say?” I say, staring at the woman in front of me with my eyes wide open.
I can’t believe the words she just said. She stares back at me with her lovely brown eyes that show no fear of having said those words to a werewolf. She does not seem surprised by my reaction to her words, and I am starting to wonder if she is okay.
Witches and werewolves are not friends. We don’t kill them on the spot like vampires, but we don’t welcome them into our homes either. We used to have a good relationship until Theo’s mother went on a killing spree and killed more than half of the witch clan for reasons only known to her. This was during the time she was pregnant with Liam. How she did it is a mystery to everyone, but it also tells me how much of a strong woman she was. I wish I could be like her.
“Anastasia, why are you standing by the door,” Theo says, bringing me back from my thoughts.
“There is a woman here, saying things to me that don’t make sense,” I say to Theo, who is speaking to me from the stairs.
“What do you mean,” He says, walking towards me by the door. “Ekaterina, you are here. I am happy you were able to make it safely,” Theo says once he sees her.
“You know her,” I ask, surprised.
“Yes, I do. She is the witch helping us safely enter vampire territory.”
“How,” I ask, surprised he is saying the same thing she said, “Witches hate us for what your mother did. Why would she help us?”
“That is true, but I also own my life to Theo,” Ekaterina speaks before Theo does
“What,” I ask, confused. I don’t even understand anything that has been said since Ekaterina arrived.
“Why don’t we move to the living room? I will explain everything then,” Theo says,
“Lead the way,” I say, moving from the way so that Ekaterina can walk in.
